Sarah was very patient and explained my system while we watched the video. She gave me a "get out of problem free" card similar to monopoly game that covers next service call - wow!
Description of Work: I bought big deal for $79 and called for appointment. They sent Sarah and she was wonderful. I have had several plumbers in since I bought the house a year ago. She really explained everything very well and gave good suggestions for problems as we viewed the system by video.

+ -1 moreExcellent work by technician to identify the problems which are clearly visible on the portable TV screen. I'm still waiting for the promised estimate to dig up the drain pipes and replace with 45 PVC.
Description of Work: Used snake with a camera to inspect my downspout drains and found several areas where the drain pipe was collapsed and totally blocked. The builder (Zicka Homes) used cheap/thin sub-standard PVC which collapses and are easily invaded by tree roots.

+ -1 moreWent very well. The Service Pro employee should up on time and we were able to confirm that there were indeed non-flushable wipes in there causing the backups. She actually just used the camera to push them on through so she never had to put the actual snake down the drain. Very courteous and professional.
Description of Work: Ran the camera down my main drain pipe to investigate the reason for my drain backing up. We suspected that non-flushable wipes were the cause. Also, ran camera all the way to the city line so I could map my pipes since I am finishing my basement and will need to tie into the lines soon.

+ -1 moreThe services weren't performed. The guy quoted me almost $1000 to replace an existing kitchen sink and that's WITH the $99 for $200 services coupon I purchased. There would have been minor adjustment to the plumbing based on the drain placements of the sinks. The existing fixtures would have been used. I felt the quote was WAY over priced. I haven't used the coupon and will be contacting Angie's List for a refund.

+ 0 moreBought a Big Deal for a "Whole House Plumbing and Sump Pump Inspection with Complete Water Heater Flush". The guy who came was on time and professional. Our house doesn't have a sump pump, so we skipped that part. He checked our faucets and bathtub water, checked the hot water temperature (which was hotter than it should have been, so we turned it down a bit), flushed the toilets, inspected the bathroom/kitchen plumbing, and then we went into the basement. This first part was all ok... the Big Deal said that dye would be used to check for leaks on all toilets, which was not done... but I didn't say anything about it, because the toilets aren't that old and I haven't noticed any leaking, but worth mentioning. When we got to the water heater to flush it, he noticed a lot of buildup on the pipes and top of the water heater, which indicated a leak from somewhere. He told me he'd be happy to flush it for me (He did tell me it needed flushed, because of the noises it was making you could tell there was a lot of buildup in the bottom), but that he couldn't recommend it because of the condition of it. He said we really need a new one because of the leaking, and that if he emptied it to flush it, he couldn't guarantee that it would keep working because of the age/condition of it, so I decided not to go through with that. I'm not holding this against them though, because he did give me the option of whether to do it or not along with his recommendation... he then gave me quotes for some new water heaters, and was on his way. It was a quick appointment, and some of the things he did were helpful. Although he didn't do everything included in the Big Deal, based on the things he did do, I'd use them again if I needed work done, he seemed to know his stuff.

Description of Work: The service was performed as needed, and very professional. Needed the outside faucet replaced along with some pipe running into the house. Service person was great, very professional and explained the work. I have a little buyers regret due to them running a special for outside faucet repair at a much much lower rate than what I paid just about 2 weeks later. In the future I will shop around a bit, for better pricing, I don't think it was a $500.00 job to replace a faucet and about 1 foot of pipe.

+ -1 moreI bought the Sewer-Rodding Special Coupon because the floor drain in my basement was backing up and it would cost about the same to rent the rod from Home Depot. The advertisement said they would run 100 feet to the street, well that was exactly what I needed. The exact title of the special was "$79 for Sewer Rodding/Drain Cleaning with Free Sewer Televising." The plumber was prompt, courteous, and professional. She ran the rod until she hit a blockage. She thought it was about 40 feet in. Then she said in order to remove the blockage I would have to jump up to the $396 level. She called her co-worker who had the camera, so she could show me what was in there. He was on a job elsewhere and she waited her in her truck for him. When he showed up they put the camera down there to show me the roots. I couldn't really tell anything from the picture, I just wanted water to exit my basement. I did not have them continue the work. The next day I called the owner. I said I thought the ad was misleading, and I thought it should say that for $79 they would not cut roots or open a blockage. If I didn't have a blockage I wouldn't have called a plumber in the first place. He was courteous and professional as he explained that he did not write the ad, it was written by Angie's List, but he would apply the $79 I had already paid to the $396 cost of unplugging the sewer. I said no thank you and had the work done by someone else for $210. Also by way of comparison, the plumber that ended up doing the work had no trouble getting his machine up and down the basement stairs and did not need to borrow a mop. These are tiny things that were not a problem, but Angie's List is asking, so I'm just sayin.

Jack Erb and Gary Jacobs both worked with me to insure the most efficient system would be installed and stay within my budget. I have an old house, so it was not an easy project. The work was completed in 8 days by John and Bill, two very professional and knowledgeable workmen. They arrived when they said they would, worked long days and were extremely polite and pleasant to be around. I have cats that needed to be confined to specific rooms during the work and John and Bill were careful not to disturb the rooms where they stayed. Any concerns I had were taken seriously and worked out to my benefit. As a result of my positive experience, I would recommend Jacob Brothers Heating and Air Conditioning to anyone.

+ -1 moreI had originally had someone else come out to clean my ducts and the guy left some cellophane on the air filter. The furnace started making some weird noises. I went out shopping and when I came back, the furnace was really hissing and it scared me. So I called True Energy Smart Air that day. The guy agreed to come out after he finished his previous job and arrived around 8 o'clock at night and they took care of the problem with no charge prior to my contract with them. They were new to the area, but I was impressed with their service. I also gave the company who cleaned out my air ducts and spoke to the manager and she agreed to pay for that service call and didn't charge for their earlier work. I chose to purchase a contract with True Energy because the guy who came out impressed me so much that I decided to sign a service agreement. I got a special with them for the contract, they normally charge $89 for maintenance but I signed up for just $206 for two years. I plan on renewing my contract with them when it expires. I like people who give me education and they take the time to explain what the problem is and how they plan on fixing it. Their employees really seem to enjoy working for them and they are an exceptional service.
Description of Work: I originally had them come out to do a tune-up on my heat pump and bought a two year service contract with them. They come out twice a year to service my heat pump, once in the spring and once in the fall.

+ -1 moreWe wanted to convert our wood-burning fireplaces to gas fireplaces for convenience and cleanliness. We did not have any gas service at our house so we knew the conversion would be on the expensive side and require a little additional work. We got quotes from four different companies, and Service Pros was the most reasonable and professional. They knew exactly what they were doing and said they have one guy whose job it is to install gas lines. They provided a guaranteed written quote that they stuck to despite some difficulties in job and they showed up when they said they would. They even brought out some special equipment to look at another plumbing issue we were having and did not charge us for their time/opinion on that issue. Other plumbing companies that came out for the fireplaces either did not want to do the work, did not seem very knowledgeable about installing gas lines, or provided a very high quote. We felt very comfortable with Service Pros and they did a great job on the installation. We will look to use Service Pros for other services in the future.
Description of Work: Converted 2 wood-burning fireplaces to propane fireplaces by installing 2 new gas lines from the side of the house through the basement ceiling to the fireplaces and hooking up the gas logs.
