The fan was running, but it became obvious that it wasn't delivering any cool air. We call Jacob Bros. and they had someone come out within a few hours. It turned out that the heat/cool circuit board needed to be replaced. This is a part that is found in the furnace. We did have them do the work, but the repair was pricy at $750. The air has been running since with no problems.

We had a very challenging installation due to our condo being built on stilts on a hillside. After discussing options like cranes, disassembling and re-assembling the furnace, etc. the solution they came up with was to remove some boards from our decking and lowering the furnace that way. It went well with little disruption for ourselves or our neighbors. They even replaced a few boards that had rotted too much to put back. They provided us with heaters in case we needed them for the two days it took to complete the job. Did a good job of cleaning up at night and at the end of the job. The only complaint is nobody checked in with us at the end of the day, so we weren't sure if it was actually done or not. However, that was a minor inconvenience and after talking to the salesman, we got our answer. I have written a previous review where I was somewhat upset that I didn't think I had gotten great service after buying a maintenance contract. However, they did come out and do the job when scheduled and did check in to make sure our air conditioner was working before they were able to come out. I will say this is the first time in 3 years that our air conditioner was still working after the spring time maintenance. We've had bad luck with maintenance causing our freon to disappear! So -- I would hire them again, but probably won't give them money ahead of time for a yearly maintenance agreement.

Wouldn't use them even if they did service our area
Description of Work: I received a mailer coupon (Northern Kentucky) and checked out the company on Angie’s List. My husband called to set up an appointment to repair our son’s heating system, it won’t come on and I heard my husband tell the answering service that our son lived in Dayton, Kentucky, the person on the other end said they could not get to his house until Monday. My husband called back to schedule an appointment and the person who answered before, again answered and was rude and now states that they do not service the Dayton, Kentucky area! This need to be put on their coupon and someone who is more customer friendly needs to be answering the phone.

Sarah arrived at the designated time and set to work immediately. She took a brief history of my past sewer line issues and then proceeded to scope the line, which runs from the back of my house to my septic tank. Unfortunately, her camera revealed two problem areas. She went outside with a device that pinpointed the two sections of pipe that were compromised. We discussed my options---ignore the problem areas (a bad idea, especially with fast approaching,cold weather), replace only the problem sections (not a good idea, because the pipeline is over 40 years old), or completely replace the old sewer line (the best idea). Before leaving, Sarah gave me a quote on replacing the old sewer line, which I learned (later) was considerably less than other cost estimates. I also was pleased with the advice she gave me about which location on the first floor would be the least expensive to move a washer/dryer that currently is in my basement. Overall, I am very happy with Sarah's professional attitude and attention to details.

I called on the weekend because our A/C unit wasn't working and was given an appointment for the following Wednesday. The morning of the appointment, they called to cancel the appointment. Another appointment was made for the following Friday. On the Friday no one showed up for the appointment and no one called to cancel.

The technicians came to my home to replace the faucet. But it is now leaking. I haven't called them yet because I have been busy. They were very nice and courteous when at my home. We live in a 50 year old house with a cement sewer line. Needless to say, we have had our sewer line cleaned many times. In addition, this is the third time some has run a camera through it. By far, this is our best experience with anyone working with our sewer line. Mike came on time and was one of the most considerate plumbers I have ever met. Usually, when they leave, our basement carpet and stairs have many dirty spots. When Mike left, you would never have known he was here. Even after running a camera and removing roots from our sewer line, there was no dirt or spots anywhere. Mike showed me the film of our entire sewer line and pointed out the roots that needed to be removed. He also explained where the camera was filming. He then brought in the snaking machine and cleaned out our line. Even though I used an Angie's List coupon, he did not pressure me to buy additional services. He was completely professional the entire time he was here.

After several failed attempts at getting them out (emergency calls, error in scheduling, broken equipment), the tech came out and ran a camera through the sewer lines. She did a good job of explaining what we were seeing and pointing out the problem areas. She then ran a tool through the lines and cut out some of the roots that were invading the lines. She then left an estimate for repairing some of the issues she had seen.

Several weeks after the installation, I get a bill for $49 that I already paid through Angie's List. I had a call them 2 times to get that straightened out. Bottom line, they kept trying to get more money from me. It felt like a bit bait and switch scheme. I do not plan on using them again.
Description of Work: Upon arriving he wanted me to get a different faucet @ an additional $200. I told him to install the one that was on Angie's List. He then told me he was going to charge me a service charge in addition to the listed $49 cost for installation. I showed him the Angie's List ad and he said he could probably get the service charge taken off.. He did put in a shut off valve for $40. I paid for the with a check.

Contacted the company to schedule an appointment spoke with Dustin. I was told that scheduling hours were 8 am - 7 pm Monday - Friday, Saturday was 8 am - 3 pm, with 3 pm being the last appointment of the day. I explained that I would schedule as far out as necessary to accommodate both sides. I was told to just pick a day. So when I picked a Saturday @ 3:00 pm I was put on hold and then told that 3 pm was "reserved" for emergency calls that it had to be between 1-3 pm. Every time I picked a day/time Dustin would come back and say, "that is reserved for emergencies". When confronted with the question of, "What hours do you accept non emergency service calls", Dustin just kept repeating the "available" hours which INCLUDED the "emergency" hours. Dustin kept putting me on hold returning only to change what he had previously said. I explained I was getting extremely frustrated. We finally settled on Sept 2nd since I was off work that day. I reminded AND questioned him about any issues regarding it being a holiday? Dustin confirmed it was okay. Appointment time was finally set for 8-10 am. On Sunday September 1st @ 4:50 pm Jeremy called to say that since it was a holiday it was considered "emergency" service hours and that they needed to reschedule the appointment AGAIN. Needless to say at this point I do not feel their customer service warrants my business or my time. This is why I am requesting a refund of my money.

I showed the list to my husband and he asked her to show him what needed to be done. He immediately fixed two things on the list and her company price had been over $200 for that alone. We declined any of the work. One month later our ac unit stopped working. I bought another discount service call, this time from Jacob Brothers. (My more positive experience with Jacob Brothers is listed under their site). Two people came out and fixed the unit. NONE of the things on the other list was the reason why it wasn't working. I'm not saying the things on the Service Pro list will never need fixing. But we would have spent over $700 and it would still have needed a service call a month later, apparently. The young lady showed me a book of prices which seemed huge when you consider what some of the simple jobs were.
Description of Work: I wanted my 10 year old ac unit checked out and bought a discount service call from Service Pros. A young woman checked out our unit and gave us a list for over $700 of work to be done.

The gentleman who came was very nice. He saw the outside spigot that was broken and explained that the coupon covers the replacement of the spigot only. However, in order to replace it, the entire pipe has to be replaced, which would mean breaking through the dry wall in my basement. I was not willing to undergo such an extensive project, so he recommended I call the office for a refund. I did not do this, since he spent about 30 minutes at my house and was kind and professional, so I thought he should be paid for his effort.
