I bought my heating and a/c system from this same company 10 years ago. They can't service my system and humidifier on the same day, which is very inconvenient for me. Also did not like their attitude when we spoke.

After I bought the deal and contacted them to schedule the service, they told me that they wouldn't be able to perform the service of the deal until September 15th.

Their prices were outrageous. I din’t feel confident that I was getting a good price for the work. I wasn’t impressed with past services. I wouldn't use them again. They gave us one lump quote not broken down. I requested for them to break down the quote. The prices were not competitive.

Our carpet in the basement was soaked and I determined that the air handler on our heat pump system was leaking water. I called the Jacob Bros emergency hotline and Rob called back within about 10 minutes. I explained the problem and after asking me a few questions, suggested that the condensate drain line was clogged and how I could determine whether that was the case. With Rob on the line, I determined that the line was partially blocked. Rob said he'd be happy to come out and fix it, but I could probably fix it myself. One trip to Home Depot and $10 later, the drain was unclogged - they saved me an expensive after-hours call and gained a customer for life. Thanks!

I recently moved to the Cincinnati from Indianapolis. I used this company's sister company in Indianapolis. They performed just like their sister company. I purchased their maintenance contract. I am in a new house that is now one year old. The heating/ac contractor the builder used has an "F" rating on the list. As soon as the one year builder warranty was up, I started looking for my long term service provider. I am sure they will keep me totally satisfied as their sister company in Indy. They were pleasant on the phone when I scheduled. They were prompt and couteos. I would recommend to anyone.

I received a 4 hour window for the service. The representative arrived during the last hour of the window. He identified himself. His shirt showed varying certifications relative to an individual within the HVAC industry. Immediately upon coming into my home, he covered his boots with plastic booties. I explained what was happening with the unit. He first went to the thermostat and turned the unit on. He then went into the basement. After that he went outside. The representative was knowledgeable. He spoke with my father over the telephone and told him the different tests that he was performing to arrive at a conclusion regarding the unit. During the call, the fan stopped spinning on the unit. The service man told my father that he would wait and retest that area last (for refrigerant) and call him with final results so that we could make an informed decision about what services I would receive. He went out to the car and provided an estimate for services. I asked him about turning the fan on to retest but he said at that point I would be billed in 15 mins increments. I then asked him about calling my father back but he said he had nothing to add as he could not test the refrigerant. The estimate provided a quote at $68 for a 30 amp fuse and $141 for a 40 capacitor. He said he would call me later to discuss the cost of the fan. The following day a representative of the company relayed an almost $500 cost for the condenser fan meter. He also informed me that with spending that much money, I may as well get a new unit. He said that my unit was manufactured in 2000. I asked if it mattered that it was not in use until 2004 (ie-was it expiration of parts on the unit or with actual usage for the recommendation of a new unit). He said he was not knowledgeable at is related to this question but it has a life on average of 15 years so I should get it replaced. This was very concerning to me as the unit has only been in operation for a total of 8 years. I asked for an install amount from his company. I was told it would run around 4K. The service call was discounted. But the quoted pricing for servicing was not competitive. I ranked the quality as fair because he failed to retest the system as he shared with us he would do after giving it an opportunity to cool off. I ranked a fair in responsiveness because he did not call my father back as he stated he would do. Though the company is knowledgeable, I will not use again. As a consumer, I do not appreciate being told one thing (particularly when I rely upon it to make an informed decision) and my service professional alters the terms of the engagement.

The installers showed up right on time. I left for work and didn't hear from them until they finished at 4. The quality of the install looked top notch and everything is working well. Also have 15 years parts and labor warranty and I don' have to pay for a service contract or deal with subcontractors. Would recommend

***Since I did not actually receive the service and because I had to cancel an appointment and I did miss the fist call on the last appointment, I would not like for this review to be published or my grade online.*** I had to cancel the first appointment. The next time I rescheduled, they were unable to make it during the time they had quoted. So, we rescheduled for the following week. Again, they were unable to come to my home during the time they had told me so we had to reschedule a third time. They did say that if I was able to stay at home, they would come later in the day, but I was not able to because of prior commitments. I missed the first call from them during the third appointment. I called back and said I was going to be at my home during the entire quoted time. They said since I missed the first call, it would be some time before they were able to come to my home. I therefore went outside to do some work. I came in and saw that they had called, so I called back. Even though I told them that I would be at my home, they said they had to confirm a second time, so I would have to reschedule again. I asked for a refund at this time and was told a manager would call me back. No one ever called back, so I called them back and was told to request a refund through Angie's List.

The tune up was done and the service was done well.

They were very thorough and very professional. They did a great job.

Provider stated that he could not do a routine cleaning/maintenance because the units were too dirty. He also stated that he could do total cleaning for $730.00 Provider really just gave a est: of what was wrong with the units and stated what had to be done in order for him to do the routine cleaning/maintenance.

It went great. They were on time and did a great job. Haven't had any leaks or issues with it and it has been about a year now. I feel like the value was outstanding.

It was fine. We had a number of issues with the system but it was pretty good service throughout.

Scheduling was responsive, though with the recent heat-wave they were booked a couple of days in advance. Not a big deal, I'm sure all HVAC tech companies have this issue when it starts getting warm. The service rep did show up in their scheduled window, with 20-30 minutes of advanced heads-up from their dispatch, and was friendly and professional. Unfortunately this is where the good review ends. The service rep determined there may be a problem with the thermostat, and would have to replace that before moving forward. The quoted cost was substantial for the work ($300 for the installation of a $25 Honeywell cheapo thermostat, or $700 for the ~$200-300 fancier models); all to hook up 4 wires and drill some wall mounts in 20 minutes. The price was off-putting enough, so we declined the service. However, our diagnostician missed the fact that all we needed was a missing jumper in our thermostat (normally in most 4-wire models), something which took me (someone with no experience whatsoever with HVAC troubleshooting) 10 extra minutes to research once I found the time, and a 1/2" of wire. I would expect someone who works every day on these systems to identify something as simple as a missing Rc jumper in a standard 4-wire thermostat, instead of defaulting to a $300 replacement. We later found we also have unrelated refrigerant issues. Had the rep identified the simple jumper issue, we would have purchased repair/recharge service through Jacob Bros., but we are not confident with attention to detail or value after this last service call, and will be choosing a different provider.

What a great company! They came and looked over my heating system. They stated that there were no issues to be concerned with at the moment.

They were very professional. They did a good job and they were very nice people. They came out just a matter of hours. We called them up and told them what we needed and they did it. Their pricing was okay and in the ballpark. I have no complaints at all about what happened. The man came out and checked it out and I told him to just replace the old one and get a new one and he made a phone call and their truck came out and had a new water heater in it. They did the job in one day. If I had any problems and it’s under their menu, I would give them a call. They were nothing but professional. I am a very satisfied customer.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. There were no additional charges. They came when they said they would and they were real friendly. They seemed to know what they were talking about. I did use them again in an emergency situation.

It was an emergency situation. It was one of those days that it was 2 degrees out. I called their service on a Sunday and within 15 minutes the guy on duty called and within 45 minutes he was here. Within the hour of calling, they were here. The kid was good.

They are very reliable and I have never had a problem with them. They are very good workers.

All service was done as promised.

Faucets were repaired, but there was confusion about the Deal that I bought and the amount that I had paid for the Deal did not cover the cost of the repair that was performed. I was disappointed that I had to pay in addition to the Deal.

Technician arrived on time was professional and knowledgeable. He said our vintage air conditioner (1980's something) was within specifications and should be fine for the season. However, about a month later the unit quit working. The company agreed to send someone out to look at it at no charge. The technician said the compressor was bad (considering the age of the unit we were not surprised by this) and and gave us a quote to repair the unit. Ultimately we shopped around and decided to have heat pump/ac installed by another company.

Overall it went well. I believe the technician that came out did everything correctly, but the situation got complicated because immediately after he left, my furnace went out. From everyone else that I've asked, it sounds like they're not at fault, though. Realistically, I have no way to evaluate the quality of his work because I'm not a furnace expert. However, he seemed to be honest and knowledgeable.
