Description of Work: Tech did a good job in unstopping the sink & drain. As time went on it got even better. I had put liquid fire in the drain so he had to wait an extra day and came out again to complete the job. I can understand his waiting since that is a highly corrosive and explosive product and his safety was very important to us. Thanks Angie's List.

Description of Work: I I purchased a Big deal coupon $ 99 for $ 200 worth of service. I wanted to have possible leaks checked throuout the house. The technician walked through and recommended repair for kitchen faucet. I paid extra $32 for service that was priced at $232. The overall experience at this point was OK.and the exchanges with the company staff had been quite pleasant . Six weeks later my water bill arrived and it was huge. The water company employee adviced me to checked the water meter and it was obvious there were ongoing leaks. I had Holtmeier Plumbing in 12/16 for several hours of work and $ 562 : the leaks were stopped.. The ServicePros invoice states only that the faucet was prepared . I had conversations with the tec about other concerns and after inspection he made no further recommendation. I do not recall him checking the water meter before or after the service. I am sure that there are many Angie's list members who are as inexperienced in home repairs as I am as a widow, and depend on the listed providers have professional integrity. I did not expect the $200 coupon to solve all my plumbing concerns, only to provide a checkup and starting point. Naturally fromnow on I will write down every concern and question I have on a project. I also painfully aware that are any number of questions I don't know to ask.

Description of Work: I elected the plumbing, as I was having a problem with water dripping in the basement. The service man did check the hot water heater and adjusted the temperature and explained the life of my heater. He replaced the hardware in the basement toilet, replaced the hardware in the bathtub which ran while you showered and most of all he replaced the water line under my kitchen sink which was causing the water drip in the basement. I TRULY THANK GOD FOR THE BLESSING OF SERVICE PRO.

Description of Work: sump pump stopped working the day before i was leaving town for a week. Mike came same day and installed a new battery back up pump within hours. Whenever I call for any reason they are here in short order. When they were doing my annual plumbing check up I just asked for an estimate on a new water heater, Mike gave me a price, said did I want it today, and it was in that day. I have had Mike several times and he is the best repairman I have ever had. He's very knowledgeable about anything plumbing and doesn't hesitate to give his opinion on what he thinks is the better option for me, based on what I need. I don't think they are the cheapest company around, but I think they are the best. I also have them for my furnace and air conditioner and couldn't be happier.

Description of Work: This was my annual A/C checkup. I am a Service Plan member. On the one hand, the 19.99 per month does add up to $240 a year, so I am paying about $80 a year for the A/C tuneup in the Spring, a furnace tuneup in the fall, and a plumbing tuneup. But, I would be paying this much anyway getting my A/C and furnace tuned up each year. So that balances out. However, as a Plan member, I get preferred status for scheduling and don't have to wait 2 or 3 months if it is a busy season. Also, I get scheduled ahead of non-members if something comes up unexpectedly, and no premium, night/weekend upcharges. Every technician who has performed service at my home has been honest, professional, and forthcoming. They have never tried to talk me into unnecessary work. I had an estimate done on A/C replacement. They are a bit pricey and I ended up having the work done by another firm. But for service I give them an A+.

Description of Work: My A/C died on Friday at 2am. I called at 8am; the lady who took my call was professional and very responsive. She told me that they were not scheduling appointments until Monday; I told her of a special health situation in my household, and she immediately saw to it that I received help. The serviceman, Jason, was here by 9:30am, andwas cordial, responsive and professional. I had two failed capacitors and some scorched wiring; he fixed this, cleaned my unit, and was done by 10:15. He did not try to upsell me, although I have a 1993-vintage a/c. Because of this, I will buy my replacement a/c unit fromn Jacob Bros. at the end of the summer. Highly recommended!

Description of Work: The Service Pro rep did a very good job. I purchased a special from Angie's List where they come out to inspect your plumbing in your home. We had just purchased a new bank-owned home so we wanted to make sure everything was ok plumbing wise. We knew we had a leak in the kitchen. Service Pro recommended that we change the kitchen faucet and replace a part in the bathroom, which we did. They were very timely in completing the work. Once we committed to the work, they were out in a couple of days, and finished the job the same day in about an hour. The house checked out fine otherwise. They also recommended that we replace a toilet. We know that we need to do that, but the cost seemed a bit high to us. It would have cost over $600 which we were not prepared to spend at the time. They were right, it does need to be replaced,.

Description of Work: Our a/c wasn't working another company had said they would be out and never showed. We called Jacob Bros. who sent a rep the same day. The repair person was prompt, courteous, and appeared very knowledgeable. It is difficult to determine if the prices were in line. All the companies vary in how they quote so it was difficult for me to determine but I was going to be out the service call if I did not have them do the repairs and another day w/o a/c. The dual capacitor was replaced and freon was added.

Description of Work: Installed three baseboard heaters to supplement existing furnace heat in lower level. The company representative worked closely with me to get units that were the right color and met all the technical requirements. The electrician did a terrific job of installing them neatly in a difficult situation with no mess. It took a long time, but he stuck with it and got everything right. I was very pleased with the work.

Description of Work: Central A/C was no longer cooling house (unit less than 10 years old) - and it was very hot outside! Home warranty company sent two service providers, neither of whom could solve the problem. Jacob Brothers responded the day after we called - the repairman diagnosed the problem and had the necessary equipment/supplies to fix immediately. A/C now working fine and is actually more efficient. Excellent service - quick, thorough, professional and very knowledgeable.
