Ray St Clair Roofing

They're excellent! I've been using them for years. They're trustworthy, prompt, pleasant to work with, and reasonably priced.

The work was done very efficiently and improved the appearance of the house. The employees figured out the best way to solve existing problems with the connecting drainpipes and how to connect the new downspout materials to the very old storm sewer openings. (on a 114 year old Victorian house) Overall, very professionally done.

They did it very promptly. It seemed to work out very well. I was satisfied with their service.

The price was very reasonable for all of the work that was done. They cleaned up after themselves very well, which is impressive for roofers. Once they started the job, they stayed with it until it was completed. They honored the coupon in the Angie's List book.

They treated me very well. The men were very nice and came and gave me an estimate. The work was started only 6 months after they gave me the quote, yet they did the job for the same price. They were very good and were prompt. They came in when they said they would and did what they needed to do. They cleaned up after themselves. I was very satisfied with them. They were cheaper than other places that I called and their quality was very good.

Everybody was really backed up. They could not do any work until the end of July and the storm was in September. Ray St Clair roofers came out and did some temporary work and did not charge anything extra for it. They gave the quote for the work. I had 3 quotes but they were the one who offered to do the temporary work without any charges. They did the temporary work quickly after they gave me the quote. They were extremely professional much more so than the other 2 companies. Their price was good. They responded quickly and efficient.

They first gave us an estimate. They have also given us an estimate to replace the roof which will be done shortly. I am not satisfied as the roof is still leaking. I told them and they came and repaired it. Yet again the roof is leaking. They were punctual and cleaned up after themselves.

I called Ray St. Claire Roofing, and they sent out an estimator. He examined the roof, and determined that the old shingles were worn down. They were able to just put the new shingles over the old. They had a guy that did nothing but go around and pick everything up that they threw down. When they left there was no mess. They started out with 4 guys, and then added 3-4 more later in the day. The job was finished in one day. They were right on time. They were very professional. The price was reasonable.

I had 2 layers of shingles torn off and a new roof installed, the reinstalled my gutter helmet, per contract. during the job they knocked off a huge limb off of my Peach tree, i found out about this while trying to back out of my garage because i had to move it out of the way and noone offered to help. After the work, i also noticed they damaged faucet cover on my outside spigates, and they unplugged my bird bath to use the outlet and never plugged it back. They have resolved all of theses issues except a crack in my bedroom wall. I was assured by George Manning, who is in charge of quality control, that the crack would be fixed, he even took a picture of the wall, and told me it would be taken care. I waited a month and never heard anything from St. Claire so i called and spoke with the secretary, who passed the message along to kevin, who is a mangaer/owner, and he told me that he never heard anything about these damages. So i am still left with the crack in my wall and no resolution. I used them in the past and my experience was great, but this time i think they really dropped the ball on my repairs and i felt that they really showed me they don't care about me as a customer. The job on the roof is fine but my major problem is their lack of follow up on my misallaneous repiars and they fact they never followed up on the cracked wall has not been settled.

Their service was really good. They were on time and did quality work. They gave us several options to choose from. They listened to what we wanted. They gave us a reasonable price. They did it in the time they said they would. They left everything clean.

Work was quite extensive since I have an older home. The workmen removed the old roof and replaced many dry rotted sheets of plywood on the roof. The job took about a week as it was extremely hot when they were working, but they did an excellent job. The gentlemen that did the chimney cap were done in several hours. The only complaint I had that was resolved was I have a chimney stack on the back of my house from an addition that is anchored to the roof. The cables were rusted and I didn't notice they hadn't replaced them, until right before the inspection. I mentioned something to the final inspector and he said he would come back and fix that within a week, which he did. I had a couple issues with the gutters, but they came back to fix that as well. all in all, I was very happy with the job and their responsiveness to my problems. Couldn't ask for anything more.

They were very professional from the start of the project, from the estimator for the estimate, through the actual work being done. They did an excellent job of cleaning up afterwords. After the hurricane winds hit in the fall the roof was fine, we didn't loose any shingles even though most of our neighbors did. We did loose our chimney cap which they did come out and replace free of charge. We have even recommended them to others.

I had my roof leaking and they were the first ones to answer my call. They came very quickly and put a top on the roof. I had a squirrels problem, they were holes in the roof and the squirrels were coming into the attic. They were very responsive in coming after to address those problems. The guy was very friendly and willing to talk. The dealing with them was good. Two companies came forward to do the complete roofing job and the other company's estimate was the lowest among the two. The estimate was too much and that is the reason why I didn't give Ray St Clair Roofing Inc. the complete roofing job.

The chimney work was good.The roof was estimated incorrectly. He forgot some things. There were some vents on top of the roof that he left off. They took a vent off and didn't put it back on because it wasn't in the estimate and they work off of the estimate.They were supposed to replace a section of plywood.When they got to that section of roof they started putting shingles on it. When I called it to their attention they said oh we will replace it. There excuse was that they just forgot it.I had an estimator give me a price for a screened in porch. He left so much out that I finally cancelled that job. On top of all that they cracked my driveway when they delivered the shingles. They sent someone over to look at it. He wasn't nasty but he didn't want to admit to anything.He trouble hearing what I was saying.He said he would take some pictures and take it to Mr. St.Clair. He wouldn't return our calls to talk to us. He finally made some allowances on our final bill.

The chimney work was good. The estimator came out and gave us an estimate on the roof and forgot to put some things on the estimate. The roofers work off the estimate so they took a vent off and forgot to replace it because it wasn't on the estimate. I was watching so I caught it and they fixed it. We were told they would replace any bad wood and they weren't going to. Again I caught it and made them fix it. I was told that we should tell the workers what we wanted done on our back porch and they would do it on a time and material basis. The final inspector told me that the estimator should have given me a price for that work so I finally just cancelled that work. On top of that when they delivered the shingles they cracked my driveway. I told them about it and they denied it and when I pressed them they said they would take a picture and take it to Mr. St. Clair. But I never heard back from them about it. When we went down to pay the final bill they did take something off but they never addressed the issue. I feel like I couldn't trust them. I had to babysit them the whole time. From start to finish it was just a disaster. The chimney work was great. I have no complaints about that. They kept us informed when they would be there and did some extra work that needed done that weren't on the work order. They were great.

Some previous work wasn't done very well which resulted in a leak in our home. Ray St. Clair helped us get it taken care of. They stayed within the budget they first estimated the job at. They did a great job fixing the leaking. They also took preventative measures in other areas of our property so it wouldn't happen again. They're really quick workers, too. It was very nice.

I think that they did a really good job. I think that they are a little higher in price than other companies because they have documented workers and insurance.

It went great. The estimator came and discussed my requirements with me very quickly after I placed the call. He provided the estimate that day. I'd gotten the estimate right before the Hurricane Ike wind storm. When I called back to give the go ahead, I also asked if they could add the repair of the shingles to the job as the shingles had been damaged by the wind storm and they were already going to be on the roof for the installation of the attic fan. They replaced those shingles for me with no additional cost. The men who installed the insulation were very polite, efficient and cleaned up after the insulation was installed. I was very pleased with the entire process and have already recommended them to my neighbor.

I was really upset with the pricing. The more I thought about the original estimate I became more and more upset. Fortunately, the last part of the job involving roofing to the porch was not a locked in contract. They allowed me to cancel the last part of the job. The workers were very good, professional, and polite.

The only negative we encountered was due to the weather. They were so busy, that we had to wait 6-8 weeks to get the work done, but once they got to our house, the work was done promptly, including the addition of the shingle work and the last minute extra tuckpointing.
