Sales rep was very friendly and answered all my questions including helping me understand the 5 star service I purchased. Damaged screens were fixed "immediately". Install went well including the cleanup. Install was completed in a very timely fashion. Extra crew was involved to do my roof in one day --- just ahead of the December snow storm. Quality inspection did identify some issues (not sealed gutters and missing rain sensor). I did need to call in the spring to follow up on the sealing of the gutters and getting reimbursed for the rain sensor. The sealing of the gutters happened shortly after my first call, but I needed to follow up a couple of times to get reimbursed for the missing rain sensor.

We had our roof done by Ray St Clair in 2015. Just this year, 2020, we had a leak develop that apparently was on the 2nd floor roof and made it's way to the garage ceiling. Their quality inspectors came out right away and did work to stop any potential leaks. After several visits, confirmed that the leak was actually coming from a bathroom - incredibly hard to find - I've done a quick fix there and no more water. These guys were clearly very knowledgeable in their work and always punctual, courteous and left everything clean. They stood behind their work 5 years later, no questions asked. A great staff and very pleasant to work with. Thanks!

Ray St Clair Roofing evaluated the situation. They inspected the roof and determined the problem was likely due to some issues with the ridge vent from a dormer. A detailed estimate was prepared. After our approval they repaired the problem which required installing new ridge caps and repairing a vent flange and storm collar. They replaced a few damaged shingles matching the color of the old shingles. About one week later the company sent a roof inspector to check on quality of the repair. Very professional and courteous. Great job! Reasonable price.

Although it took time to schedule the work, once scheduled the work was done professionally. The inspection for quality of workmanship was also done, as promised, although it took multiple calls. The gutter system, the shutters and the bay window work appears to be satisfactory. The biggest issue is that the upper window casing replacement - recommended by them - never fixed the problem. They suggested another fix with a cost of $2,500. They claimed that the original solution should have worked but was NEVER guaranteed to work which was not my understanding when they originally suggested it. We finally gave up after multiple calls and visits over a period of year.
Description of Work: Ray St. Clair Roofing installed a new gutter system, replaced several pairs of shutters, and replaced/installed wood siding on rear bay window. In addition, they suggested and replaced upper window casing to fix a leak. The total cost for the work was over $6,000.

They are very professional, thorough and very prompt. They originally said it might be up to three weeks before being able to schedule, but they called with an opening and got us right in!. The workers cleaned up completely. It was a night and day compared to the company we used previously. I also noticed that tier price was very competitive.

First attempt: 1) Old gutters cleaned, but not fixed-- they still leaked and sagged exactly where they did before the work was completed and the dented downspouts were not addressed. For cost of over 4K, company should not leave a job site with gutters looking and functioning like these. Why would a customer want a gutter-guard system installed over dysfunctional damaged gutters?? 2) Side downspout was not addressed at all. 3) Gutter-guard system was incorrectly installed and when St. Clair quality control inspected the job, it was determined the system would have to be removed and re-installed. 2nd attempt: 1) Dented downspouts were replaced. Sagging and leaking gutter is still sagging and leaking in the front where we discussed fixing at least 3 times. Haven't had enough rain to see if the side still leaks. 2) Side downspout was removed and system looks to have been reconfigured to account for the removal. 3) Haven't heard back yet from St. Clair quality control after the 2nd inspection to hear if gutter-guard system installation passed inspection this time. The best case scenario is that there will be a 3rd visit necessary to fix the sagging and leaking front gutter, assuming the rest of the job passed inspection this time (to be determined). I did have friendly and honest discussions with the St. Clair quality control inspectors who seemed to be knowledgeable about the work, but I really expected someone who knows what they're doing to be actually doing the work too. From what I can tell the workers themselves have no idea what's going on. Not sure if these are sub-contracted workers or what, but for this kind of money I expected the installers to know what they are doing and do it right the first time. To be honest, I've lost confidence that this job will be done correctly at this point, but I'm not getting up on the roof to look at it and I wouldn't know what I'm looking at anyway. I'm considering hiring a third party to inspect the work to get another objective opinion. Even though I have no reason to doubt the St. Claire quality control inspection, I assume there is eventually some pressure for them to collect full payment from me and move on from this job. Sorry for the bad review, but I regret using Ray St. Clair for this job because the workmanship was terrible. I'm the type of customer who doesn't mind paying more to get a job done right so we don't have to keep revisiting the same things over and over, so needless to say this job does not pass that test. Would recommend trying someone else, at least for gutter work.

Everything seemed fine until my gutters clogged, backed up and overflowed. Gutter helmet is supposed to have a warranty that gutters will never be clogged. I called them out to inspect and was told that their technicians that did the work on my home never installed the end caps leaving the gutters open to birds building nests in the gutters. I expected they would have their technicians come out to correct the errors but instead I received a proposal for over $600 to power wash the gutters, install some clips that were needed and finish the work. I told them that I only wanted the work that I had paid for completed, however I never heard from them again. I used this contractor because they were highly rated but in my opinion they are crooks that do not stand behind there work. Beware do not ever use this company.

I contacted the provider on 6/6/2016 for a metal roofing estimate. After several follow-up phone calls and messages on the website, we received an estimate via e-mail on 6/20/16. The estimate was for the wrong project. I replied to the e-mail, but never got a response on the correct estimate, as of 6/28/16. I understand this is their busy season, but if this isn't the type of work that they do, or if it takes longer than 3 weeks to get an estimate, this should be stated up front. We hear many good things about the quality of work, but it is just so hard to get a response from the company.

I called to get a roof inspection after a few shingles were blown off in the April 2 storm. The first available appointment was in three weeks. My shingles were discontinued by the manufacturer. So, I was concerned about getting something that would closely match my shingles. Also, the entire roof needed to be inspected for additional damage beyond what I could see. I had talked to other roofers that said the entire roof needed to be replaced and my insurance would pay for it. I really just wanted an accurate assessment of what needed to be done. The Ray St. Clair roof inspector recommended a repair for the small damaged area and gave me an estimate. He didn't try to talk me into a whole new roof. The repair was done a week after getting the estimate. They were good about communicating and doing what they said they would do. I was very happy that they matched my shingles so well that the repaired area isn't something that's noticeable. I would definitely use them in the future, and even though I only did a repair this time, be comfortable using them for a total roof replacement in the future.

Dear Regina Houchens: Didn’t you receive the contract between Ray St. Clair Roofing and myself, and the photographs taken of the attic the day Fitzpatrick came to investigate the problem. I had the attic access all opened up for him, but he didn’t bother looking in the attic. He said the photographs I took were enough. As I already stated, the original spreadsheet I gave Fitzpatrick had a calculation error. I sent Ritchie, the sales rep, the revised spreadsheet for $710, but he stated that the owner Kevin St. Clair would not even accept the miscalculated $1400. I cannot be any more clear; it states on the contract that TWELVE INCHES OF NEW BLOWN IN CELLULOSE INSULATION WILL BE ADDED TO THE EXISTING THREE INCHES OF FIBERGLASS INSULATION, WITH AN ADDED INCH OF BLOWN IN CELLULOSE FOR SETTLING. THAT MEANS THE TAPE MEASURES IN THE PHOTOS SHOULD READ SIXTEEN INCHES. Kevin St. Clair contradicts his own sales rep and states it is normal for the cellulose insulation to settle way more than one inch. The pictures taken the day Fitzpatrick came to investigate the issue were no different than the day the insulation was added. THERE WAS NO SETTLING!!! Clearly the pictures show that I did not get what was contracted for, and Kevin St. Clair is trying to rob me and threaten me with collections. MY FINAL OFFER IS THIS:1. I HAVE CONTACTED MY ATTORNEY AND A SUIT IS BEING FILED AGAINST RAT ST. CLAIR ROOFING AND KEVIN ST. CLAIR PERSONALLY FOR BUSINESS FRAUD.2. THE MATTER WILL BE ADJUDICATED IN THE HAMILTON COUNTY COURT OF COMMON PLEAS BECAUSE THE AMOUNT FOR DAMAGES WILL EXCEED $15,000, WITH THE DEMAND FOR A JURY TRIAL. AN INJUNCTION HAS BEEN FILED TO PROHIBIT THIS UNSCRUPULOUS BUSINESS OWNER FROM ATTEMPTING TO CONTRACT OR SELL THE FRAUDULENT DEBT TO A COLLECTION AGENCY. KEVIN ST. CLAIR WILL BE HELD IN CONTEMPT OF COURT IF HE ATTEMPTS TO SEND THIS MATTER TO A COLLECTION AGENCY, EITHER BY CONTRACTING THE COLLECTION OF THE FRAUDULENT DEBT OR SELLING THE FRAUDULENT DEBT. I appreciate Angie’s List’s attempt to provide conflict resolution, but with a business owner the likes of Kevin St. Clair, he is ignorant and committing fraud. I am holding Angie’s List to their word in maintaining this business on the NEGATIVE LIST, along with my review so no other customers have to deal with this company.

All in All the whole project went pretty badly. The company was on time for the appointment and were really nice while they were working my property. I contracted them to blow in 12 inches of cellulose into my attic. They wrote that they blow in an extra inch in for settling. So in total the company was to blow in 13 inches of cellulose into my attic space. The installer who crawled into the attic to install the product put paper tape measures around the attic to ensure the proper amount was being installed. They explained that there were 3 inches of existing insulation so when they were finished installing the 13 they were contracted to install the tape measure should read 16 inches. After the product was installed the tape measures barely read to 11 inches. I had an inspector with the company come out, who handles their resolutions. I showed him the areas that were not to the level of service I was being charged for. The resolution specialist took the pictures that I had of the paper tape measures and took them back to the company. They told me that they weren't going to be able to settle this. I did do some calculations to find out what I should have been charged during the process. My total for this came to about $1400, however I have been sent a bill for $2531. The bill they sent me was for the agreement for them to install 13 inches of cellulose insulation but they barely installed 8 inches. During the sales process the salesman told me that they had a partnership with Fifth Third bank and that I would be able to apply for financing with a zero interest term. I completed the application with the rep from the bank and never heard anything. I reached out to the company and the bank about this, come to find out this financing option was denied. I was never notified of this, so I have been sent a letter from Ray St. Clair Roofing stating that they will turn my account over to a collection agency. I feel like this company has acted completely unprofessionally and are not taking responsibility for subpar work that they performed on my home. They say on their website that their primary goal and mind set has always been to offer great service and QUALITY workmanship. I am disappointed that this company is not standing behind the work they performed. UPDATE: My attorney advised me to contact the Ohio Attorney General and file a complaint before we file a lawsuit in the HAMILTON County Court. I contacted The Ohio Attorney General's office today to file a complaint of fraud and extortion against Kevin St. Clair and his company Ray St. Clair Roofing, because he did not perform the work promised in the contract, and demanded payment, threatening sending the unpaid balance to collection, which will create real damages to my credit report. That is EXTORTION!

Dear Member, we did offer to go back and blow in more insulation, even though we feel that we did what we said were going to do. We blew insulation in back in January and it does settle and pack down, so I am not sure how you arrive at your calculations. As I said, we offered to come back but you stated you did not want us to and wanted a discount, we which we gave you to settle this matter and put it behind us. As far as financing, we have no control of that. The bank approves you based on your credit, which is out of our hands. We did try and contact you several times, with no luck or return calls back. The work was completed; however, it took 6 months from start to finish. During the process a QA inspector checked the job. This required the installer to return to finish a few items that were missed. The QA inspector returned a few weeks later. The night before he arrived a brand new leak started. He did not offer any resolution. I called the original estimator and he came back, identified the issue and fixed it during that visit.

Very professional company. Looking at the roof they didn't recommend a complete replacement like so many other companies would do they said they could fix the leak by properly installing a new welded cricket. After the installation I had concerns where the wall turned the corner creating an opening in the vinyl siding and gave them a call. They came back out promptly to go over my concerns and explained that they didn't believe it would cause any leaking but reworked the siding to insure that there was no issues down the road. I was very satisfied and would recommend them to anyone with a roofing problem that needs corrected.

Rep came out within decent time period. However, price quote for replacing roof was steep. $10,000. He did get on roof and into attic to determine the leak. He fixed the cap which had come off & a few shingles. They were very cooperative and quite helpful in trying to have the roof covered by insurance with no luck. Great people to work with. I would use them again.

We still have issues with one of the corners, it leaks really bad. The rest of the gutters are nice, it's just that one corner. The price had to go a little higher because, the estimate was a little under. The quality was good except for that one corner. It's a sealant problem, I will be calling them in the spring when the weather gets a little clearer. When the guy came out to look at it, it took him weeks to come out. I've had two guys come out to look at it and the problem is still not fixed. They were here on time and he was professional. He was very nice and told me if I had any issues, to call him. I probably won't use them again after the warranty expires.

Everything they did but the actual scheduling was great. The scheduling took nearly 2 weeks to get someone out to provide an estimate. I was then told it would be 2-3 weeks after the estimate to have someone back onsite to do the work. After 4 weeks I called/emailed and complained and it was clear they'd forgotten or not scheduled my visit. They were extremely apologetic and had someone from scheduling/service call me immediately and someone was there 2-3 days later. The work itself was great and the installer was awesome. We have a ceramic tile roof and he was very careful about working on/near it and had to keep rescheduling the final portion because it was too slick to walk on. He called daily to check in and confirm if/when the work could be completed. I would highly recommend Ray St Clair, but make sure you are aware of how far out they're scheduling.
