Was told 4 to 6 weeks before fence would be installed . Well after 12 weeks they showed up. They never called to keep us informed on what the delay was. When they did come to install they did not have enough material so fence had to be modified. Very unprofessional They also measured for a deck I wanted but they still haven't got back to us on that [MY GOOD LUCK]

It was just a small job and they did it in a timely manner. They did a good job. I have no complaints about them. I just called them and they came out and gave me a quote. Everything went well.

Most of the work was done in February when it was cold and rainy. Even though there was only one guy that worked on the project he was here early and always cleaned up before he left. He was very nice and professional. Even though he preferred to work alone the job would have gone a bit fast if there was two of them (digging post holes, cement and assemble).

Great craftsmanship on the fence. They know that they are doing. A little heavy handed in their approach as I warned them about an irrigation line where they were digging a post hole and they still hit it, resulting in a repair fee. They deducted from the final bill. If you have a major project (like mine) keep in mind that they do not do surveys, check for grading, or remove any organic materials that interfere with the fence. They are also not great at communicating their arrival times, what they are doing next, etc. When they finished the fence there were a couple of things that weren't correct but they fixed them. Ultimately there was some unneeded stress because they don't communicate, and the sales guy didn't have a clue what work was being done and when. However, they took care of all issues and we ended up with a beautiful, well constructed fence.

This was a very mixed experience. The fence itself looks great. We have been happy with the 2009 installation from the beginning. When parts of the old fence fell down in 2012 we were happy to use Elyria Fence again to have fencing on the sides that matched the very nice back fence. The 2012 installation looked great, too, but there were two problems at the time. They moved the fence in from where it was. 1. They didn't discuss this with us in advance. It may have been required by the city, which is fine, but we shouldn't have come home to be surprised that the fence was in a different place. 2. They put the fence ON TOP OF my flowers. Also, there was a tree near the property line. It was inside the old fence but when they put in the new fence they put a partial panel on either side of the tree. This is definitely NOT what we were expecting. Fast forward to 2013. A fence post at the back was broken, we had the tree taken out and needed a full panel put in, and part of the top of the side fence had detached and needed to be replaced. Several phone messages weren't returned but they did respond to email asking about the repairs. The (initial) good news: they told us that it would all be covered by the warranty - even the fence post that was 4 years old. The bad news: it took 7 WEEKS and multiple contacts to get the work done. We are on the east side of Cleveland and they told us that for warranty work they waited until they had jobs in the area and then did the repairs while they were on a paying job. I repeatedly asked for a scheduled date when they would be out but they wouldn't give me one. When I spoke to Heather on the phone she was very pleasant and understanding (especially when I explained my wish to make sure they didn't trample my newly landscaped yard, given the experience last year). However, I still didn't get a date for the repairs. They finally called and said they were coming. Someone was home all day long but no one showed up and no one called. A couple of days later I emailed asking about it. They no one was home when the crew showed up (not true) so they couldn't do the work. On the plus side, they came a week after they said they would and were able to do the repairs in a couple of hours. I got email a few days later saying that the back fence post wasn't covered by the warranty because someone on the other side of the fence had driven into it and broken it. I don't mind paying the bill, since I wasn't originally expecting the fence post to be still under warranty anyway. However, it's ironic that we had to wait 7 WEEKS for the warranty work to be done only to have it turn into a paying job anyway. The review form forces you to choose yes or no to the question of whether you would use the company again. Actually, my answer is maybe. Without the warranty experience it would be a definite yes. With luck it will be 25 years before a new fence is needed and the question will be a moot point.

The representative for this company was on time and knowlegeable with quality products to offer. We are still getting quotes on fencing to date because it is costly to fence in our yard and we are still unsure with the type and style of fence we want to purchase. We will definately call this company in the future.

We called, the guy came out and never responded back to us afterwards. Multiple calls and still no answer. Not pleased even slightly with this situation.

They were good. However, The crews that came to install the fence were really interesting characters. The girl that was the helper was nice, but it looked like she was majorly hung over and/or still on something. The guy who was actually doing the work was good and he was focused on getting the stuff done.

The company rep was prompt in coming out to measure and give us an estimate. He provided good information including why the company's prices were higher than a competitor's--because of the better wood used. There was a several week delay because the company had so many orders. However the building permit acquisition, the post placement and the on-site fence construction were all done in a very efficient and professional manner. The building inspector was pleased with the depth of post settings and the fence line--we had to allow for a storm sewer easement. Also the fence was made to conform to the slope of our yard, and wood quality and construction have a very good appearance. Importantly the company addressed our need to ensure that our small puppy could not fit between the pickets.

We were very pleased with the presentation and communication that Elyria Fence provided us. We did however go with another contractor because of price.

The job went great. They did excellent work.

I called Elyria Fence before a salesman came out to see their showroom first, but it was being redone and there was nothing to see, as I was told over the phone, so a salesman came out. I was a little disappointed in the fact that there could have been more help with styles, pricing and samples of wood and vinyl. I know nothing about fences and was not able to see the products first hand. Everyone was very nice to deal with though, and the posts that were put in were good. The gentlemen that came out were polite and worked diligently and finished in good time. I regret putting up the gate as it really doesn't look right for my property and the wood is very rough and shaggy. No one has complimented it either so I know this is true but the decision was mine. I wish I had done more research before taking on this project.

From start to finish, the entire process from getting a quote, to addressing our concerns, to going with us to City Hall, to the installation was very professionally handled and we would highly recommend Elyria Fence.

It was a wonderful experience. They came out, cut the old posts down and put new posts right next to the old posts. They were on time and cleaned up every evening.

They put vinyl white fence around my whole yard. They did hand railing that goes down my front steps. They put the gate in my backyard, the things that we do for dogs. Dave Ramsay is the one who came out and he was very professional. He knew exactly what he was talking about. The quality of the fence and everything is real good. The guy that put it in the fence, I wouldn’t say it was horrible, but it could have been better, but I am still happy with everything that was done. They came back and they asked how I liked it and everything, and if everything is okay. The salesman and everything were fine it was just one guy that put in the fence, he could have been more professional and should have asked questions were there was an issue, it would have been better about communicating with me , because I was in the house the whole time. Overall, it is okay, it is fine and I am happy with it. It still worked out nice, it looks really nice. The guy that did the hand rails in the front is beautiful and I am really happy with them.

They did a good job. They were nice.

They gave us different alternatives and cost structures. They said they would be out in three weeks and three weeks to the day, they were there. They got the job done in two days. They did very well and I was pleased with their service.

They were very professional and knowledgeable. The salesman, Bill, was very friendly and had been with the business very long. They got the fence of quickly and it looks fantastic. The price was very fair. They did a very nice job even with our slopped lot.

It went excellent. They worked around my schedule to get the work done. It was done very professionally on a timely basis. When concerns came up they were handled quickly and efficiently.

I would call the job a success overall. The new piece are white cedar, and are supposed to be resistant to rot without staining or anything. They were not stained and are a notably different color from the old weathered parts of the fence, but we're okay with that. I'm really happy about the new post. The workman dug out the old post and actually replaced it with a new post, but it was faced with a layer of old wood which he left in place, so the post doesn't look any different than it ever did. While he was working, we found out why the post started leaning over: it's sitting on big tree root or tree stump under ground, and was much shorter than it needed to be. He spent a lot of time chopping away at that stump and was able to get rid of some of it, and so the new post is in deeper than the old one was. We're hoping it will stay upright. The workman really went the extra mile in digging out that stump, and it didn't affect the price of the job, even though he probably spent an extra hour on the job than what he originally expected. He mixed some concrete and poured it around the base of the post, and then covered it back up with a layer of dirt after the concrete was sufficiently set. The patches that were made in other areas of the fence were I think a good compromise between having part of the fence continue to rot and completely replacing it. It took about 6 weeks for them to come out after the initial estimate was made, and we didn't hear from them at all during that time. I would have appreciated a call every 2-3 weeks to let us know we weren't forgotten. They told us when they made the estimate that they couldn't get to the job immediately, so we weren't expecting immediate action, and we never emphasized that we needed the work done by a certain date, so the six weeks doesn't seem unfair. But I would have appreciated call at some point. That's why I gave a B for responsiveness.

Overall, everything went very well. I was pleased with them. I thought the workers were courteous and the company responded to all of my questions in a timely manner. I would recommend them.

They were professional and very helpful. I would consider them to provide a quote in the future.

I was pretty pleased. After they were done the fence post, the main post was kind of green. I called the owner of the company to complain. He was very friendly and he sent someone out to cover up the post with more fencing material.

They are HORRIBLE COMMUNICATORS--never call back when supposed to, apparently nobody in the company talks to anybody else because some of the things I encountered are almost laughable. Gave them a deposit on 7/25/11, supposed to be installed in 3 weeks. After 5 weeks, I started calling them and after 7 they finally came and installed. I had to stay home all day to babysit because the installer didn't bring a ladder and needed to drag everything through my house, up the stairs and out my bedroom door.

They were punctual. The guy who came for the estimate was very professional. I would recommend them to others.
