Parks Tree Inc

I was really glad to see Parks Tree ad for 199 for 400 worth of tree work. I scooped it right up. Charged it to my credit card. I promptly called parks and got a machine where I left my name and phone number. I also desribed that my concern was one of the largest oak trees in Lorain County. Within a day I received a call. ApparentlyParks does not venture into Lorain County. That should have been in the add and before Angie charged my card they should have canceled that or was the fact that I had such a large oak tree what really scared them off. I still have an oak tree that needs trim work which usually requires some actual high tree climbing. That is why I was excited bi 200 for 400 worth of work. I have no clue if the date is accurate, but it was springish of 2012.

They arrived on time. Spend two and a half hours selecting and trimming the trees (which are easily 100 feet tall ) They also "cabled" the two trees that share a trunk. They were organized and worked well together. They protected the other landscaping in my yard. They didn't rush through the job and cleaned up all of the branches and large logs. I was very happy. The cost was competitive since I have had these trimmed before I know it isn't cheap. They are not just "tree cutters" they are Arborists. I would give them an A rating.

Went very well. They were on time, quick, and quality work. They gave us an estimate to have more work done (that is truly needed) and we will have them back in the spring. I have since recommended them to several friends.

In Dec-12, I purchased coupon for $200 worth of service. I called company and got voicemail, so I left message for someone to return my call. As of today, I have not heard back from this company, which is utterly inexcusable and very unprofessional. I plan on follow up with company within the next few weeks because I'm stuck with a prepaid coupon for $200. While I was not pleased with their responsiveness, I was truly pleased with the quality of work. Please allow time for follow up and service delays.

Everything went according to plan. They areated & overseeded. Hopefully the yard will look great in the spring.

The coupon I bought was $150 but the value was $299. They are very easy to schedule with. They are very professional. I have used them a couple of times. They had done work on that tree. They have replaced a couple of trees for me. I have confidence in them with regards to dealing with trees and landscape issues. I have not had them do more than those couple of things but they have a good reputation. I will absolutely use them again.

They came and did an inspection and gave us a quote for work we wanted done. Very informative and professional. I hired them to go the service because I liked them and they had a great coupon deal. Otherwise a little pricey and I probably would have used someone else. They were a little late but the office had called to tell us that and when they did arrive, had the work done very quickly. Took down two trees as well as trimmed three more and fixed a girdled root problem. Cleaned up afterward except for the back patio and the street in front of the house. Lots of leaves on patio and lots of chips and sawdust in street. Would use again especially with a coupon.

It was good, they were punctual and came out and gave us the estimate. They came back and did exactly what they said they would.

The work was discussed ahead of time with a supervisor. I was told fire logs would be cut from the large branches pruned and added to the stack of logs already in the yard. This was discussed again with the tree cutters that showed up for the job. The tree pruning went reasonably well. At the end of the job I realized they left the large branches in 4 to 5 foot logs in front of my wood stack. The homeowner is an 84 year old man. His 58 year old daughter is his caretaker. We do not own a chain saw. I now have to hire a tree cutter to clean up after this company. Very disappointing work. I would not use this company even on their discount as you must pay extra to clean up after them.

They removed the tree, the stump, and the roots. They took great care to totally clean-up everything afterward. They came right on time, they were professional, and I was happy with their service.

If you want to be treated rudely, engage Parks Tree. They did some trimming at my home after Hurricane Sandy. The work was fine, but they left a mess - wood chips and sawdust on the tree lawn, lawn and sidewalk. I asked them to clean up the mess after I got their invoice. Experience has taught me not to pay contractors until the job is done to my satisfaction. The office manager promised all would be cleaned up 'within the week.' Twenty four days after I received the invoice, with absolutely no clean up done, nor any other contact, I received a phone call from "Justin" who asked me to call him back. The next day I received an email from "Steve" (whom I assume is the owner; no one identified himself) telling me, "We need get this (invoice) addressed." I was not able to return Justin's call until Monday, and I was sorry I did. He demanded immediate payment. When I mentioned the clean up, he told me it had snowed. He then insulted me, told me I had to "conduct myself better" and that I was "not acting professionally." There was still no clean up. I relayed all this to Steve via email, asking (again) for a clean up and asking why I should not post this information on Angie's List. He called back, apologized, and sent a clean up crew. I paid the invoice the next day. Steve never told me why I shouldn't post this. Conclusion: The folks at Parks Tree may be excellent tree service providers, but they are very discourteous and relentless in their pursuit of payment.

They came and gone while I was gone doing errands. I saw that they did the aeration but no evidence of seeding. The aeration went well just not sure about the second part of the work because it was raining. I normally like to observe work being done at my home so I am not sure how much over seeding they put on.

An appointment was set up for mid-October last year and because the company was too busy it was pushed back to January of this year. The men came out and the head of the crew came to talk to me about which trees were to be done. He was able to find one of them but wasn't sure which other tree was to be trimmed. I told him that I didn't know for sure and that I was told that there would be general trimming of the deadwood in the trees. I was corrected that they don't do that for the Angie's List deals. There was one dead branch that had fallen off of one of my trees and I pointed that out to him, to have him grind it up. They pulled their equipment into my driveway but apparently their grinder wasn't close enough to the truck that was catching the grindings, because there were mounds of sawdust on top of the snow covered driveway when I next went outside. In addition, 2 of the wooden stakes that my snowplow contractor had placed on the drive were now gone, my guess is, ground up. There were orange peels all over my driveway as well. Not a very professional way to leave someone's property. I was extremely disappointed & chalked it up to a bad deal for me.

Called, made appointment, they showed up on time, did the work and I'm happy.

Scheduled the work. They came as promised and completed the work. The sidewalk and driverway was clean after the work.

They came in and the job fine. I would use their services again.

They job went well and they were very nice people. I didn't have a lot of things for him to do, but primarily trim some large branches and limbs as I live near a woods. It was somewhat difficult to contact them to do the job and a follow up job afterwards but they were apologetic about that. When they did come they did a well.

It was a job well done and very professional and courteous people to deal with.

I hired Parks Tree to come out and limb a large oak along with pruning other trees in my yard. The first time they were coming for the initial assessment I took time off work to be here and meet with them, they never showed and didn't call that day. Then I recieved a voice mail a day or so later that the Park that was coming had been at a job and been stung by wasps and had to go to the emergency room. I still think he should have asked his office to call me and let me know that day even if he couldn't make the call himself. The estimate they gave was good for the work needed and I hired them, they came the morning the big storm was hitting the area and it was raining and blowing terribly. I called that day to say that I assumed they couldn't make it and would have to reschedule and they told me that they had indeed come out, I was so surprised becuase the storm was terrible and in fact we lost power for a week as a result! When I got home and was able to walk the yard it felt that they rushed to get the work done before things became impossible, they left debris around from the pruning, and decent sized branches of our mimosa were left on the ground and in the oak leaf hygrangea, so I had to clean up after their crew essentially. I also had specifically requested that the oak limbs be left so we could cut them up for firewood and they neglected to do so. I called and they brought out cut firewood but not nearly as much as we would have gottne from the two oak limbs they were removing. But the worst part was that they damaged an understory evergreen along with my golden rain tree when they removed one of the oak limbs. They had to cut a big branch out of the golden rain tree as a result and the shape is terrible now, it is my favorite specimen tree and I am so very dissappointed with this. They also had to top the evergreen and the cuts weren't very good, and it was becuase they had damaged it taking the oak limb out. I really believe they rushed to finish the work because the weather was so bad and they would have been much more careful if a huge storm wasn't hitting the area. Their actual tree work is good and the price was right, but overall service was not. If you say you are coming, show up, if you cannot make it, then call promptly and let the customer know. Don't leave debris for the customer to clean up, and if they ask you to leave something for firewood, leave it. And for heavens sake, if a big storm is blowing in don't try and squeeze the job in, the result is damage to the yard. I am so sorry to have to write a poor review, it is something I rarely if ever do, I feel very sad even thinking about it again. I paid them becuase they did what they said they would do, but I cannot recommend them.

The representative was prompt and courteous, worked quickly and efficiently and finished within a couple of hours.

After a bit of hiccup (my fault) regarding scheduling the trimming work for three large trees went very well. The specialists sent were polite and professional. Parks has earned my repeat business.

Since as of this writing the purchased service isn't complete my review is very limited. I realize a service company would tend to give a higher priority to customers paying full price, and Sandy came through. But this process still seems to me to be lengthy. Other than my initial call to Parks' office to confirm their having the needed information, I had no contact with them other than a bulk email citing the delay Sandy caused until I called back on or about 12/10. The lady at Parks Tree was polite on both occasions. My "C" rating on responsiveness is due to the length of time between my initial contact and the call to set the appointment and the fact I made both calls. I hope to be able to improve these ratings after the completion of the service. Update: Service was performed 1/16/13 On the plus side: the tree looks decent. It appears to be balanced. Branches encroaching a neighboring garage and utilities were removed. On the other side, cleanup was half hearted. There were numerous small branches left in the yard. I swept about two bushels of debris from the chipping operation from in front of my neighbor's house. I had in previous years spent $400+ with another contractor for tree work I was pleased with. Here, I got what I paid for.

It took 3 months to get the work done. That's my only complaint. The manager acted like he didn;t know that I had contracted the work. He said it was my duty to contact them for an appointment, not his to contact me (?) so maybe Angies list should inform either the customer or the provider of the proper service protocols. The company told me they were very busy, booked me weeks away, then cancelled and rebooked me, due to a busy schedule and a truck down for repairs. I know that equipment failures happen, but that's what sub-contractors or rental vehicles are for. I was a contractor once and customer service is critical for long-term success.
