Campbell Plumbing and Drain Cleaning was great. They were very punctual and professional. I would recommend this company to all of my family and friends. The worker who came out to my home had to come out in horrible weather conditions and had to work outside to get the job done. I would not take my plumbing business to any other company but Campbell Plumbing. I was 100% satisfied with my service and would definitely call Campbell Plumbing again. Thank you for a job well done.

Scott was very informative with how to solve our sewer drain problems. He was quick to respond to our calls, and didn't run when he saw how bad our problem was, even though it was the worst drain he has ever seen. He did everything he could to help us, and even fixed an issue a different plumbing company left.

Communicated with Scott via email to get things set up and he was responsive and attentive. During the email communication, there was no estimate provided. Scott and a colleague arrived when scheduled and were courteous and professional. Investigating a smell involved approximately 30 minutes of time with a visual inspection of an attic space and a cursory check of a wax seal on a toilet. Best recollection was the entire service call was around 2 to 2.5 hours. During this visit it was asked how much the services would cost. Only an approximate cost for the descaling was provided. Scott was diligent in contacting a roofer to assist them as they were not comfortable going up on the roof to check vent. The reason I will not hire them again is they were not upfront about even the estimated costs for the services requested. While they were still planning on completing the work where they required a roofer, we had not yet received a bill for the work performed almost 6 weeks prior. When we saw the invoice, we feel we were overcharged. During the phone call with Scott: The Service Charge ($75) is charged regardless of the total cost of services. While Scott stated he was a licensed plumber, upon asking further, he stated his colleague was not. Scott stated his charges were taken from a 'charge book' and were standard. While the work performed appeared to be good quality, I always get estimates before I have work done. It is unfortunate that I didn't this time and I would suggest anyone planning on hiring this company make sure they do.

We feel that there is no greater pleasure than ensuring our customers receive the best options for their money when we visit their homes. We present choices to our customers that we believe would best suit their needs, and we are truly sorry that you feel that your needs were not met by our company. I am glad you were happy with our quality, responsiveness and punctuality but during our 4 emails and 2 phone calls I can only recall you asked about a tank flush and that is when I started asking you about "bypass valves". I also remember talking to you about getting a multiple discount for the tanks because you have two heaters in the same location. We also discussed pricing with the person who was left at the house. He/we even called you from the basement to discuss the copper plumbing work for the drain for your lawn sprinkling system. Although our prices may seem high to you, they represent the utmost quality and professional service you won't receive from many other companies. The total price of the work includes not only the parts but immediate service from a drug free, background checked, skilled technician in a fully stocked truck, and warranty on the work performed from a company that has been in business for over 30 years.

My 25 year old sump dump was not working correctly and needed to be replaced. I talked to Scott and he was able to schedule me for later that afternoon. Scott and Vince confirmed that due to the age and condition of the current pump it should be replaced. They completed all work in under 1 hour including cleaning on the pump area. This is the second time I've used their service, the first was for a hot water tank replacement earlier this year. I've been very pleased with the quality of their work and professionalism. I recommend them and will use them in the future.

Our driveway drain was collapsed and fill underneath was being undermined by water erosion. Scott was a model of professionalism and accountability. The work was done effectively and on time, at what I consider to be a fair price. Scott was very responsive, good about communication and punctuality. The folks he had working with him were all friendly and professional as well. One of the best experiences I have had with a contractor.

I called Scott at Campbell Plumbing and talked about installing a 1/2 horsepower sump pump and adding a battery backup. I decided to go ahead with the installation and set a date. We did not discuss cost at that time (my bad). Installers came at scheduled date and time but did not have the battery backup and only had a 1/3 horsepower pump. I told them what I had discussed with Scott and they said they didn't have these items on the truck but would go to get them. They came back with the parts and did the installation. I received the bill and was surprised at the installation cost of $1175. The installation was completed in about 1 1/2 hours by two individuals. I called Scott to discuss the amount and he stated this is what they charge for an installation of a sump pump and battery back up. Again, my bad for not asking in advance but $783/hour for labor seems a little (lot) high, even with two people. After the installers left, I looked at the pump itself and the label appeared to say it was a 1/3 horsepower pump instead of the 1/2 horsepower that I had requested. I called Scott and he verified that the pump was indeed a 1/3 horsepower pump. He stated that the pit for the pump was not large and high enough to accommodate a 1/2 HP pump. I don't have a problem with that but I was never told that the smaller pump was installed. If I had not asked, I would have never known.

It went fine and I hope my problems are solved. I must say that responsiveness, communication, professionalism on Scott's part were top notch. He explained everything he was doing and going to do to fix the problem and even made a diagram/map of all the lines and where they led and emptied. Now if someone ever asks me where all the drains and downspouts empty I will have the answer. On the day they did the excavating, they found massive amounts of gravel and mud in the line and a dip in the ground which wasn't allowing the water to drain properly into the ditch. They had to send for more pipe and gravel and finally backfilled and roughly graded where they had excavated. They had to dig under the gas line to get the proper placement of the new pipes leading to the ditch. (Hard to explain---you'd have to be there}. Scott showed me how to do maintenance on the new back water cleanouts. If this all does the trick to keep my basement dry and foundation secure, it will all be worth it.
Description of Work: Day 1 Scott came out and assesed the problem of water and mud that had backed up in my basement from two floor drains. Day 2 Scott and Vince dye tested all the lines, Day 3 The crew excavated to install two new back water valves but found additional problems and addressed those. What originally would have been a 4 -5 hour job became a much, much longer project. They worked continuously from 9 am- almost 7 pm. This all was after that really big storm we had when the runoff ditches on the side and the front of my house were flowing like rivers and overflowing ino the road. Hopefully what was done will be the solution to my water problems. It hasn't rained or stormed yet. When it does, i guess i will know.

Our laundry room drain pipe had cracked and shifted so a pump had to be installed, and tied to main stack. We had other plumbers recommend digging up the basement floor to correct. This solution was simpler, lest cost and extremely efficient. We are very happy with the work. We have used Campbells in the past for our home as well as mother in law's home and always very pleased.

Our 13 year old water heater died and I called Campbell Plumbing who had installed our last unit. Scott provided excellent information on the pros and cons of replacement vs. repair of existing unit. We decided on a new unit and scheduled an appointment the next business day. Scott and Vince arrived as scheduled and completed all work in a little over 1 hour. They were very professional, efficient and polite. Scott reviewed the workings of the unit in simple easy to understand terms. He also pointed out a few plumbing improvements which could be made in the future without using any pressure or scare tactics. We were very pleased with the service and felt we recieved a high quality unit and installation for a fair price. I would recommend Cambell Plumbing and will use them again in the future.

We agreed on a replacement and scheduled a date. They had a cancellation and called to offer us an earlier install date. We agree on a date, they arrived on time and in exactly 60 minutes, they had removed our old tank and installed a new one. Over the weekend, we'd noticed that our toilet was leaking around the base, so after a search on Angie's List, I gave Campbell a call first thing Monday morning. Scott was courteous and offered to put me on the schedule for first thing the next morning. The guys arrived on time as promised, which from my experience with other service providers, is rare. The "window" they give you often is missed. Not so with Campbell. Scott and Vince were very friendly and professional and had my toilet fixed very fast. Instead of running out the door to another appointment, like so many other companies I've dealt with, Scott took the time to see if I needed anything else. Since he offered, I had them look at a slow-running drain and also asked them to quote me on running a water line to my new refrigerator. They had the drain running free and clear in no time. In addition, I was pleasantly surprised to find that their quote for the new water line was $100 cheaper than the last quote I'd received. They installed the line for me and I'm definitely pleased with their service. Vince even took the time to clean up some dirt they'd tracked in, as I had a cleaning crew finishing up as they arrived and he didn't want to mess up their work. They are friendly, responsive, and reasonably priced. I will definitely be calling Campbell in the future for any other plumbing needs. I highly recommend this company.

I called early on a Friday morning hoping to get service that day, partially because I didn't want the kitchen drain to stay clogged all weekend and partially because the water lines to that sink will freeze in very cold weather if I don't keep the water dribbling--and it was -10* when I called. Keeping the water dripping, and not draining, for a few days would have been inconvenient, to say the least. Scott was able to come that morning, which was great considering all the folks with frozen pipes in the area that day. He called letting me know he was on his way about 1/2 hour before he arrived. They removed the s-trap below the sink, snaked the line, and after a while determined that the problem wasn't clearing. After working on it for a while, they ended up having to remove a portion of the the pipe under the kitchen and replace it altogether because of the poor condition. They also replaced the s-trap under the sink. The sink now empties completely, quickly, and more quietly than it has in years. The "glug, glug, glug" sound I used to hear for a while after running the water--and thought I just had to live with--is gone. That was a bonus. What I hoped would be $150-200 job turned out to be a lot more, but the problem was more complicated than I thought it would be. That's the only reason I gave a B grade on the price. I didn't ask for the fee to be itemized, but Scott was clear on the charge estimate, and I approved it before he started, and he didn't go over the estimate. They did quality work, were professional, neat, had the required parts & equipment with them, and were extremely responsive to get to me that morning, which was worth a lot to me. Scott also made some recommendations for things I could do to avoid the frozen water line occurrences. He didn't try to sell me on additional projects and repairs--of which there are plenty at my house--but I will likely contact him again for some of the other things I'd like to do. I have no hesitation recommending Campbell Plumbing.
Thanks for the great review. Hopefully those cold days don't return any time soon.

The provider got upset and asked that I show him where the leak is at under my mobile home. The provider was very rude and his partner came in the house and told me to not lock the doors as they needed to come in and out. He looked at the furnace and wanted to fix it because it didn't work and I didn't want it fixed. The plumber got upset and left, I called the boss and told him the guy didn't give me a chance to explain. I didn't want the furnace fixed because the insulation burns fiberglass and I don't want it turned on. I have portable heaters for heat as the furnace will make me choke to death from the fiberglass in the air. These guys were extremely rude and unprofessional, I would never use them or recommend them to anyone. UPDATE: I talked to upper management, she knew the incident that went on. How did upper management know unless someone told her. They called my park manager. they are trying to start trouble. They said I grabbed one of the men. There was fiberglass in my furnace so I placed my hand on is to stop him, and tell him that I did not want him to turn it on. I did not grab him. They are making trouble for me, I also called to let them know that my neighbor would not be using them, and now they are saying I called to badger them. I told them, I was going to be reporting them to Angie's List as they were walking out of my house. UPDATE 2: I had hot water until the pipes were frozen. I called Campbell Plumbing to fix the issue, but then I had my awful experience. I hired another plumber to fix the issues, and that's when I discovered the pipe had been cut. I believe that Cambell Plumbing was responsible for this because of the way they treated me when they were here.

I called Campbell Plumbing the evening of January 11th, which was a Sunday, and left a message. Scott called me back in less than half an hour, and I described what was happening with the sump pump. He said he and another plumber would come out on Tuesday the 13th between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. Scott and Vince arrived promptly, even a bit early, which was fine. We went into the basement and discussed what was going on. Scott explained that the existing, malfunctioning sump pump, which I bought at a well-known big box store (nothing against them) wasn't exactly top of the line. I believe this because it's the second pump, same brand, in a four year time span, that I've had to deal with. Campbell Plumbing uses a brand of pump called Liberty, and just from the brief glance I got of this pump before they installed it, it looked much better made. I had Scott and Vince go ahead and install a new check valve and new discharge piping, because the existing piping, while sort of/kind of doing its job, wasn't exactly up to snuff. As Vince said, "It'd be like buying a new car and putting old tires on it." to leave the old piping. I just wanted everything to be done right, and I believe it was. Scott and Vince got to work and it only took them about an hour to remove the old pump and piping and install the new. They cleaned up after themselves. I also asked them about pipes under the kitchen sink, and they did NOT try to upsell me regarding what would essentially be two different jobs. They said those jobs were nothing urgent, nothing to worry about. I appreciate their honesty. I also want to say that the pump that Campbell Plumbing replaced today first started acting up on January 7th, and I had a different plumber (also from Angie's List) come out. He charged me $190.46 to 'diagnose' the problem and make a small adjustment to the float switch. Nothing was said about about the inferior brand of that pump, but he did say he'd charge $362.53 to redo the discharge piping. That's for the piping alone, not even a new pump. His adjustment obviously wasn't a fix since the pump started acting up again on the 11th. I'm upset because to me, $190.00 is a lot of money, and I also hate feeling taken advantage of. But that foolishness led me back to Angie's List and then to Campbell Plumbing. $484.00 is also a lot of money, but I think I got my money's worth with Campbell.
Description of Work: Removed a sump pump that wasn't working correctly and installed a new, better quality pump. Also installed new check valve, and did additional piping work.

With a house full of family from out of town while wrapping gifts on Christmas Eve around 9:00pm we smelled gas. The gas company informed us of a gas leak, turned off the gas to our home(we now have no heat, stove or dryer) and told us to contact a plumber. We contacted Campbell Plumbing & Heating around 9:30pm. Scott arrived less than a half hour later with a smile. After finding the leak, assessing the damage and fixing the problem (without making a mess) Scott left us all in our warm house to wait for Santa's arrival.

Within one hour of leaving a message, Scott called back and said that they would arrive in approximately one hour (they had to finish up somewhere else first). Scott and another gentleman were on time, courteous, and very professional. Scott discussed how much the service would cost and what needed to be done. We had tree roots in the main line from the house that needed to be removed. They used a huge snake to cut through the roots. It took a while to get through all of it, but everything is running fine now. Two things I would like to note: (1) We have had this service done in the past by other companies, and they always left a mess for me to clean up and they didn't take their shoes off or use protective covering. So when the other companies left, everywhere in the house that they had been felt "dirty" to me--so I had a lot of clean up work to do. Not so with Campbell-- Scott took off his shoes to get to the lower level utility room and cleaned everything up in the work area. It was amazing. (2) We went with the traditional snaking service, but if we could have afforded their hydro jetting service that really cleans/opens the pipes to their full extent and prevents regrowth of the roots, I would have done it. It sounds worth the money if you have it. To me, when a company is doing work in your home, there are two elements to consider: did they perform the service well and how comfortable was it having them in your home to do the work. I give Campbell an A+ on both.
Description of Work: Water from the washing machine was backing up from the drain in the floor in the lower level utility room. Everything in the house was draining slowly. We needed help right away.
