Mark Monnette Masonry

Mark was quick to respond and come over. He give me an estimate on replacing part of the sidewalk. This square was cracked and replaced 2 years ago (by another company) and pieces are chipping off. Mark first recommended that I ONLY use Calcium Chloride (instead of Salt) for ice removal, but then said neither of that is good to put on concrete. Then he mentioned kitty litter or using nothing at all. So I am still confused about what TO USE for ice removal. Mark thinks the sidewalk is chipping off because of the use of salt/calcium chloride, but I am mystified why the rest of the sidewalk (poured in 2000) has never had a problem. Also if I have him replace the square I will have him put "salt guard" on it. He recommends not putting salt/calcium chloride on it for at least a year after that. So I am still confused on what to actually use for ice removal, this is a business so I have to do something for ice. Before I spend more money($390)to replace the square for a 2nd time I want to know how I can prevent future problems and how I can deal with the issue of ice.

He did what he said he was going to do and at the price promised. He did the work on time. I was very happy with the work. This company's price was considerably better than the other companies. It was about a 30 by 30 inch square. Most companies did not want to do the work since it was such a small job. He explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. He cared about his work.

It was wonderful. He was on time and professional. He did what he said he would do.

We were pleased with the work but we did have to point out some extra areas. He did everything we asked of him though.

Mark was very responsive to my concerns and needs. He was prompt in getting back to me with an estimate. I think the job was more than he anticipated. He said that the old walk was very very thick. He worked one day removing the walk and putting in the forms. He suggested rounding the edges since he had the proper equipment with him. He did an excellent job in rebuilding the side walk. He brought in gravel to increase the height of the new sidewalk. He made the walk slope away from the house. He also made it aesthetically pleasing with the rounded edges. I think the job ended up being more than he anticipated but he stuck to his estimate.

The job looks good. All items were completed on time and for the agreed upon price.

I had two windows in my basement that were beneath the deck in the back of my home and didn't need windows in them anymore. The windows also leaked, so blocking them seemed the thing to do. Mr. Monnette is great at returning correspondence, has a flexible schedule, works fast, is competent and very friendly. I will definitely call him with jobs in the future.

The vendor was totally unresponsive.

Nice guy - too bad he doesn't do work on my side of town.

I found Mark on Angie's List. He is extremely professional and you can tell he really cares about the work he performs. He had the difficult task of pulling out a very poor patch done on our porch by the previous owners and fixing the work. In addition, he noticed some small work to be done on the bricks by the porch (something I wanted to fix before but forgot to tell him). Individual, professional service by a master. His cost is excellent.

As always, Mark did a great job at a fair price. I have used Mark several times, recommended him to neighbors, and he never disappoints. He does great work and is very pleasant to deal with.

Mr. Monnette was one of 5 masons I called to tuckpoint and replace missing/broken bricks in an old house. He was one of two who actually returned my call the next day. He was honest enough to say that he didn't believe the scope of our project was in his capability. Because of his honesty and prompt response, I will definitely consider him for other projects.

Overall it went great. He's very responsible and it was a great price. He also finished the job really quickly. We haven't had any issues with him. I would recommend him to others.

I am very happy with the my new porch steps. Mark was a pleasure to work with. He returned my calls promptly. Although we were on a waiting list for 3-4 weeks, Mark checked in from time to time and provided time estimates on when the work on my steps would be performed. He arrived on schedule, completed the work, hauled away all the debris and left the area surrounding the porch in excellent condition. My new steps look great! I would definitely use Mark again should the need arise.

We were looking for a contractor that would clean and reseal our stamped, colored, concrete patio. Per the original contractor, this needs done every 2-3 years. However, he would never return calls or show up to do the work after he scheduled it. We found Mark on Angie's List and he has been excellent. He returned our original call right away, he came out and gave us a quote, and then kept us up to date on where we were on his schedule and the time frame of when the work would be done. He did a wonderful job and the patio looks just like it did when it was new. We weren't home when he came out, so he called my cell to let me know that he was there. He called back as soon as he was finished to let us know, and then met us when we came home to show us step by step what he did and why. He also gave us suggestions on additional care and maintenance. Service like that is hard to find anywhere these days. If we ever need any kind of concrete service in the future we plan on calling Mark Monnette. \ Excellent work and service!

Mark is great - I would recommend him highly. He was prompt and completed the job quickly. The steps and foundation looks great.

Wanted to make our patio larger because we are having a roof built over it to make it more comfortable in the summer, allow us to use it on a rainy day, and also to make room for more seating for guests. Called and left a message and Mark called back soon after. His price seemed fair and the best thing was he is pretty much a one man operation and does only small jobs. The larger companies either told me they don't do jobs as small as mine or in one case the guy told me he is getting his large jobs done first and probably wouldn't get to mine until the Fall. Plus, the next best price was about $300 more than Mark's quote. Came rated well on Angie's List so I felt comfortable hiring him. He started the job within two weeks and completed it over two days. The first day he dug the footers, built the form, and added gravel to make it level. The second day he poured the concrete and finished just after lunch. Mark did a great job and has gone out of his way to do a little more to make me happy with the outcome.
