Mark did great work for us. We're preparing our house to sell and needed some general concrete repairs done. He returned a request for an estimate promptly, let us know when he could perform the work, showed up when he said he would, and did a great job at a really reasonable price.
Description of Work: Mark repaired the crumbled corners of 2 porch steps, patched and filled a very long gap between our house's foundation and sidewalk in the side yard, and repaired some crumbling brick mortar

I called 3 companies that advertised this service. Mark was THE ONLY one that called me back! And he did so promptly. I called him at the beginning of the week and he had the project done by the weekend. He was able to use the extra bricks I had on hand and the results were great! You could hardly tell the difference from existing bricks to new bricks. Mark was personable and reasonable and performed the service quickly and expertly. I would highly recommend him for any masonry job.
Description of Work: We had a brick front porch that had many bricks which had chipped and broken. Each brick needed to be cut out and replaced.

We have worked with him before. It went great. I have a cement goose on my porch, and due to weather, the goose had a crack on the base. I mentioned this to him in passing and he fixed it at no charge! He also fixed a door that was scraping for no charge!
Description of Work: Our front porch has posts and the cement under one of these posts was crumbling. He ended up knocking out the cement under this post and replacing it.

Excellent. Mark returned my call promptly and had an estimate for me within a day. His was the most reasonable estimate and he was able to come out and take care of the problem within a week. If there were any questions that arose as he was doing the job, he checked with me to make sure what I wanted and provided advice about issues he saw as he was working. I never felt those suggestions were made in the interest of creating more work for himself, but were truly what he would do if it was his home. He was also prompt and very pleasant to deal with. An excellent experience from start to finish.
Description of Work: He repaired a gap where our front stoop was separating from the house, as well as cracks in the concrete there and inside the garage.

Mark returned my call the same day and performed an estimate a few days thereafter. Mark provided the best estimate and was also the most knowledgable of the other contractors I spoke with. He replaced a cracked block under the stoop and applied a protective concrete coat around the entire base of the stoop.

All three projects went very well. Mark was friendly, communicative, punctual, precise and committed to making sure the work met our demands. When one of the stones was knocked loose a few weeks after completion, he even came out and reinstalled it at no extra charge. A contractor I'd highly recommend.
Description of Work: Mark constructed three stone walls for us as part of an ongoing landscaping project. In one part of the project he acquired the stone for us as well as completed the installation. In the other two parts he reused stone we already had to complete the work.

My experience with Mark was mixed. His end result was satisfactory, and the price was very reasonable, but it took way too much effort on my part to get him to do the work. The masonry on our front porch was cracked and crumbling so I called Mark to see if it could be repaired. I knew it was in bad shape, but was hoping for a repair, not a replacement. I was very clear about my hopes for a repair in the message I left for him. It took him a week to come out and evaluate the site (seemed like a long time to wait) and left me a quote for ripping out the porch and replacing it with a new concrete stoop. I assumed the brick was too unstable to be repaired and took a look at his quote. It wasn't acceptable. We have a brick walk leading up to a brick stoop, so a concrete replacement would look sloppy. I called him back to ask for a quote for a brick stoop. The price was several thousand dollars. I asked if the masonry could be repaired. Good thing I asked, because it could. I really didn't want to work with him at that point because I had the distinct feeling he was trying to get as much money out of me as he could by turning a simple repair into a big job. I had very little luck finding anyone else, so I continued on with Mark. He had to come back out to do a new quote. This took at least another week and he seemed bothered by having to travel from Dublin to my home in Worthington in order to work with me. The new quote was for $350 which was right in line with the information I'd read on Angie's List for similar jobs. I was planning on waiting a while for his schedule to clear so he could do the job, but he was able to fit me in sooner than expected. He completed the work, and it looked OK. Parts were done beautifully, but parts were barely acceptable. Bottom line is that my stoop is stable and safe, so I'm fine with the quality of the job. The very day he completed the work, my husband wrote him a check. He cashed it (and it cleared my bank) that very same day. Normally I wouldn't think twice of such a thing, but given that he tried to get me to agree to a much bigger job, and then needed my money within hours of completing the job, I'm led to believe he was perhaps in financial trouble and was being truly dishonest about the original scope of the job. Very unprofessional.

Everything was positive with them. I had a couple other people that I got bids from tell me that no one could do a good job for that price, but he convinced me that he could and I hired him and everything was perfect. He also did just find on reconstructing the concrete step.

Mark did a great job for a very fair price! This was a big job, and every aspect of it went well. It looks great - exactly how I wanted it to look. Mark is a perfectionist and it shows. He was also incredibly easy to work with - friendly, punctual and dependable. He called frequently to let me know the progress of the limestone cap cutting at the stone yard, and he installed it as soon as it was ready. Mark is a great guy, and a true professional!
Description of Work: Mark repaired the brick wall in fron tof our yard. This involved removing an old iron fence embedded into the concrete cap on top of the wall, removing the concrete cap and replacing it with a limestone cap, and tuckpointing the brick wall itself.

Our sidewalk caved in with a gaping holeMark came out and provided the best estimate. He was very personable gave a work estimation date, then called and completed the work earlier than the date estimated. We were quite apprehensive because we were not sure why the sidewalk failed to begin with. Mark was able to show us that the neighborhood contractor had run out of concrete on that slab and used the sludge which caused it to fail. Mark did an excellent job and afterward provided his own cones and lumber to rope off the area. My neighbor came down to check out the job and he has done construction work. He inspected Mark?s work and indicated it was done very professionally. Further he indicated that Mark used high quality concrete and that more than half of the cost of the job was put into the concrete itself. Further, my wife was supposed to be back by the time Mark finished but was caught in traffic. Mark called me on my cell and I realized no only was she late but she would be later because she needed to pick up the kids. Mark waited for more than an hour to ensure that someone would be there to watch the concrete while it settled (tiny hands and foot prints for the neighborhood). Excellent price and great experience. I would recommend Mark any day.

Mark was great. Was punctual and completed the job on time and as estimated. He did a super job. You can't even tell where the repairs were made; blend in so well.
Description of Work: We needed work done on a stone bridge and other stone areas around the house/s; basically maintenance repair. Mark also repaired stone pavers bordering the driveway. In addition to this job, one of the homeowners asked him to lay down a partial slate patio that had been previously removed for repairs. That would be another review (but the homeowner did tell me she was very pleased with the quality of the work).

We needed to have the front stoop replaced. Mark, the owner, gave a fair estimate and did the work himself. He did not expect the old stoop to be as thick as it was and had to get a jack hammer. It turned out to be an all day job but he stuck to his estimate.

Mark was wonderful to work with. He returned my call shortly after I phoned, and promptly provided us with a bid which I felt was very reasonable.
