Came 1/14/15 to check the problem. Explained what needed to be done to repair the washer, and the approximate cost. My washer is a Bosch, and is 12 yrs. old, but love it, so decided to have it repaired instead of buying a new one. The repair was scheduled for Friday morning, 1/16, and he was there as promised. He even fixed the vent to the dryer. He is courteous, very personable, honest, and follows through on phone calls, etc. Will definitely use again.

Andrew secured a loose wire in the panel area and the controls began to work and are still working. He said he had encountered the problem before in the KitchenAid brand but if the panel acted up again he would do some research and contact his network of fellow appliance servicemen to get to the bottom of the problem. While he was here I asked about dishwasher soap that didn't leave such a build up of residue in the washer and he talked about cleaner additives and regulations and what works and what doesn't. I followed his suggestion for a cleaner and am not seeing as much soap residue as before. Very knowledgeable appliance guy.

He was very polite when he came in our home (introduced himself, put on booties and went straight to work). After determining the issue was the circuit board, he explained why it was the problem using an electrical diagram. He put together an estimate for parts and labor and then asked if he could speak candidly. He told us we should buy a new dishwasher. There was a chance a new circuit board would be a refurbished unit, and the warranty from the manufacturer and himself would be good for only 90 days. He gave us all the information we needed to make an informed decision, along with his recommendation. He had enough integrity to basically turn down money he would make by doing the repair by telling us to buy a new dishwasher. When we asked what brand he would recommended, he told us which one he owns along with two others he would recommended. We highly recommend Andrew because of his knowledge, honesty and integrity.

Andrew was very prompt, professional, and courteous, I would highly recommend his company to anybody in Delaware county looking for a service technician who knows his trade and is very fair and honest with his work.

Neither of these repairs lasted through the summer. Both appliances failed. I had an older washer and dryer set in the garage and now use them. The tech assured me that both would "run like a Cadillac for years." Yeah... right.

Excellent Andrew showed up on time. He fixed both appliances quickly and efficiently. The stove needed a new heating element and our Duet washer needed.a new pump. Both parts were up-grades from the OEM Parts. Great price. Very professional service. We will certainly use "The Appliance Guy" in the future if needed

Our electric oven stopped working one day so we called The Appliance Guy. Andrew showed up on time and quickly got to work diagnosing the problem. He showed us the process of deduction he used to narrow the problem down to the electronic control module. He explained things very clearly without being condescending. He told us what our options were and how much each would cost us. There was no high pressure sales - it was very matter of fact. We had him order the replacement part and come back the following business day to install it. The job went off without a hitch and we were glad to have used this provider. He was courteous and professional at all times.

Andrew is great! I will never use another appliance repair service. He came out same day, was prompt, friendly, professional, had the part I needed with him, and completed the repair promptly. He cleaned up everything after he was done.

Our 2 year old Kitchen Aid dishwasher was reinstalled after a kitchen remodel. When I attempted to run a cycle through it stopped working. I called for an appointment and The Appliance Guy was able to come the following morning. He checked out the dishwasher and found the problem (lose wire). He initiated the 'start' and double checked to make sure there was no leaking as a result of the dishwasher being reinstalled. This was above and beyond what I had expected.

Andrew Matheny is a dedicated, kind man who is extremely knowledgeable and generous in spirit. I HIGHLY recommend him!!!!! You can't go wrong!

Our 11 year old Thermador 48" Professional range (model # PDR484GGZS) had serious issues. We'd already spent $89 to have a very disinterested technician from the installing company tell us it was going to cost a fortune to fix it. He was a jerk. So, I read a lot of appliance repair reviews on Angie's List and decided to call Andrew Matheny-The Appliance Guy. That was the best decision on selecting a repair tech I have ever made. We set a day and time and Andrew called in advance of his arrival, right on time. Both my wife and I felt comfortable with him from the moment we met him. Very polite and personable. Our Thermador problem was ugly. This thing had cost us a bunch of money before. I knew it would be a costly repair. Lot's of issues to track down, diagnose, and fix. This was one of those jobs that was really difficult and continued to get worse as it went on. Deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole we went. I could go into all the messy details but suffice to say, I'm sure it's in Andrew's top 3 all time toughest repair challenges. But Andrew stayed the course, always treated us with courtesy and respect. He would fix it, leave, and then it would stop working. Multiple times. So frustrating! Eventually, after many parts, many hours, and many dollars, Andrew called to apologize for failing to get the beast fixed, and to tell us that he was refunding ALL OF OUR MONEY! $1750 to be exact. I was stunned. We didn't ask for a refund. We just wanted working ovens again. But we knew this thing was messed up, and it was a real emotional burden for him and us. At this point it looked like we might just have to replace the whole unit, and Andrew didn't think he earned the money he'd charged us, and he wasn't going to live with that. This stupid repair job had turned into a valuable life experience, and a lesson that there are still honest, hardworking people out there that actually live by the Golden Rule. Guys like Andrew (if there are any like him), don't just talk the talk, they walk it. Andrew tried his best, we agreed to part friends, and he was literally going to refund us all the money we had paid him. And then it happened. A couple of days later he called. He thought he figured it out. I'm not sure how much help the factory really was in this. Some probably. But really, I think it was mainly Andrew. He said he thought it would work, but he wasn't absolutely sure, so we would be risking a large part of the refund he'd offered us. I was confused. I said to him, 'You mean you want to buy more parts, spend another 4 hours of your labor, and still issue us a partial refund?" Yep. He felt we overpaid him for repairs that turned out to be unnecessary. Even though Thermador had told him what parts to buy, and what to repair. He was going to make this right, and price it fairly, even though I know he lost money on this job. Whoa. A happy ending. Thanks to Andrew our Thermador is baking like brand new. Works perfect. Did everything he said he would do, and obviously went a lot further. If you hire Andrew for an appliance repair, and I recommend you do, I sincerely hope you don't have a repair as tough as ours. You probably won't. But if you do, relax, as you're in good, honest hands.

This guy is fantastic. Basically, he is an approved Therma-Door guy and with one of our burners, it was going to be so costly. They don't even make the part anymore to the Therma-Door that we have. He said that he couldn't even find the part. He recommended that we get a new top. We just adore him. He's just honest and respectful. He gives you the best deal possible. It was an all fair market value.

Andrew from the Appliance Guy is always very professional, courteous and punctual. He knows how to fix any home appliance and has previously repaired our wall oven, washer, dryer and refrigerator. Today he replaced the ice filter in our Kenmore refrigerator. He did it quickly, skillfully and at a very reasonable cost. He arrived when he said he would arrive and the repair took less time than expected. I frequently recommend the Appliance Guy to my friends and neighbors who are looking for a good repair service. Andrew is the best!

I was able to get an appointment scheduled within 24 hours. The service tech called prior to arrival and was well within the time frame I had been given the day before. He was friendly and professional. The service individual ran diagnostics on my GE microwave to determine what was wrong and how to repair it. He showed me everything he checked and how he came to his diagnosis of needing to repair the master control board. He also shared this would be an expensive repair. He noticed that the microwave was less than a year old and suggested I contact GE to get it repaired for free since it was still under warranty. He did not charge may anything for his time/visit. He indicated since we had used them before that wanted to keep a good relationship with me so I would continue to use them in the future if the need arises. I will definitely use them again!! I was completely wow'd by how he handled my situation.

He was very helpful in telling us what he thought was repairable and what wasn't. We determined based on our conversation with him that it wasn't worth repairing and so we ended up getting new ones. He didn't actually do any services. He was very helpful even though we didn't end up using the services. He also offered if we had any more questions about the appliances we were looking to buy that we could call him back for questions. He was very professional.

He has a lot of experience. Before starting work, he said he thought he knew what the problem was. And he was right. He showed me the defective part, explained its function, and replaced it. He showed me the parts list from LG, including their price. He also showed me a function of the washing machine that wasn't in the manual. Finally, I asked him to take a quick look at the dishwasher that was not properly anchored to the cabinets. He quickly figured out how to properly attach it, moved a couple of screws, and didn't charge anything for solving an annoying problem. I'm very impressed by Andrew. He knows what he's doing and he knows how to take care of customers. I had read some of the earlier reviews, and thought maybe they were overstated, but now I know he's as good as they said.

He returned my call promptly and provided a "differential diagnosis" over the phone. He was very prompt, professional and friendly. He did a basic repair and told me that it may not be cost effective to do a more comprehensive repair if the basic one doesn't hold (the appliance is 11 years old). He told me what the bigger repair would cost, should it become necessary. I felt like he was doing his best to keep my costs to a minimum and to help me figure out how much it is worth spending on an appliance of this age. I highly recommend this company!

He was able to fix the ice maker, and he checked the dryer and it was fine. The part for the microwave is no longer available, but he did not try to upsell me any additional parts or labor. I liked his honesty; he was very good.

Andrew called and asked if he could come a little earlier which was great for us. He arrived and promptly went to work. One of our burners was not igniting so Andrew took the burner apart and cleaned the gas orifice and adjusted all of the burners so they worked perfectly. He also recommended that eventually we should change out the burner, but since we are selling the home, the future buyers will probably change out the entire unit as it is 13 years old. Andrew was efficient and effective. He is very congenial and we would not hesitate to have him repair any of our appliances. Give this company an A+ and call him if you need quality service at a fair price.

I called due to a strange noise coming from my refrigerator. After getting my description, he diagnosed the problem and was very honest. He told me what an approximate cost would be and said I would be better off either putting up with the noise or purchasing a new one "even though I hate to turn down work." Very good experience. If and when I need another appliance fixed, he will be my first call.

The ice maker is working perfectly now.
