I hired JoHar to fertilize my yard during 2012. I thought they did a very good job. My yard looked much better than it did with the firm that did it previously. I'm going to hire them again this year.

We just got our first snow removal for the year. Called mid-morning and left message. They returned my call within 2 hours and agreed to come out same day. They came and plowed before dusk and and did a nice clean job on the driveway. The job could have gone a little smoother if I had gotten out to mark the driveway. They called before they plowed, so I was able to walk the driveway and mark it with footprints.

Called to get a second estimate and came in a little cheaper than a larger company but did not show up in the same week he said he would. Was just about to call the second company to come out and he just showed up to complete the job a few weeks after the original time frame. Did not give any heads up about being behind or coming out to do the work. Did a decent job with the edging though, was completed to my satisfaction.

I requested bids for redoing our landscaping from several companies. Most didn't even respond. Of those who did, only Jo-Har listened to what I wanted. Harry patiently allowed me to toss around various ideas with him until we decided on a landscaping plan that I could be really happy with. He used mature, healthy plants with a variety of colors & textures and it looks great! He was very knowledgeable & a seasoned professional.

When they mowed my house lawn the lawn was uneven and there were large piles of cut grass all over the yard. This could have killed the lawn where it was left. The quote I had included trimming and excess grass removal. I did call the company to give them an opportunity to correct and they came back and did another marginal lawn mowing and I recieved a call explaining that there was a misunderstanding in the quote and for the price they would not be doing the removal. They also further explained that because I had asked that they not come more than once a week, that was why the grass was so high. They did offer to come back and rake once, but would not do it in the future. I felt the price of the work was now too high for the level of service so I discontinued the work at my home. I kept the service at my office and even left a message over a week ago for some additional work. They did not return the call, but rather I spoke to the crew when they came to my office to mow. The yard is very small and they had a zero turn mower and did not move recycling bins set out for the trash to mow. When we went back to look at the extra work I was surprised at the lack of professionalism from the crew. They were calling out to the leader as he was working with a customer and making jokes. I found it disconcerting. The crew leader quoted me about $25 higher than I had been quoted by another team. I agreed but was troubled by the whole encounter. I ended up cancelling. I do not want these folks around my home or office. They are expensive for the level of work and unprofessional.

The charges depends on what they do and they charge $40 for mowing the lawn. I would definitely recommend them. They are very prompt and easy to get a hold of. They do what they say they’re going to do. I will use their services again in the future.

Jo-Har responded immediately to my request to meet and gave me an estimate on taking care of my lawn and my yard for the summer. I travel alot and can't keep up with the mowing, etc. Mark is low key and not high pressure. He listened to what I had to say, made suggestions and we worked out a plan for what I needed and what I could afford. He and his crew are polite and leave things neat and clean. At the first part of the summer, I had a dog that was sick and they would always call before they came. They always closed the gate afterwards. I am impressed with how conscientious they all are. They have never cut the lawn too close or too often. I am very happy that I have found a lawn service which is extremely service oriented even though I have a very small lawn and am not a 'big' account. I am looking forward to maintaining a good relationship for as long as I am in this house.

They were very courteous and did exactly what we asked for. A couple of the bushes were not trimmed the way I like them but that was not their fault. I didn't tell them and it was an easy fix for me to go and adjust. They cleaned up most of the debris. Unfortunately the driveway was missed and a neighbor who had just had theirs done brought this to my attention. So I wish they had been a little neater which would have been a good recommendation for them in our neighborhood. Considering I didn't call them until later in May for the work and they had started their busy season, I was thrilled they were able to work us in. Maybe had I called them earlier they might have been more thorough but I honestly didn't feel what they did was that bad. I thought the price was reasonable compared to what my other neighbors had paid for theirs. Not only that, if I had had to go and buy the mulch, bring it home clean the beds and put it down. Oh my. I would never have gotten it completed in a couple of hours like they did. We would definitely use them again.

This series of projects will start in May and continue thru Sept.

It wasn't exactly what I wanted to do so we went with a different service that was more like what we were looking for design-wise. They were certainly knowledgeable and the person who came out was nice. I think it may have been the owner that came out. They were very good about responding to us and timely with the communication, it was good communication. He came out once to look at the property and then came back with the proposal.

Very easy to get in touch with and the work was scheduled within a week. Because of the poison ivy, they couldn't guarantee that they could do the job, but when they came out to give an estimate and realized it was a small patch, they went ahead and scheduled the work. Very professional and friendly! The guys worked hard and checked with me to clarify exactly what I wanted. The property looks great and I expect to use them for fall/spring clean ups.

I've had an extraordinarily difficult time getting companies to show up, provide estimates and do the work. When Angie's List wasn't working, I found Jo-Har's flier under my doormat and called them. They've been back several times for tree limb removal and and additional weed control for the grass and I am very happy with them. They are friendly, professional, and get the work done in a timely manner. All staff are very polite. They stuck to the price quoted so there were no surprises.

Another outstanding job by JoHar! Had them plow our driveway in the winter and when spring rolled around thought we'd call them for our yard clean up. I called to set up a time for them to come out and do an estimate for the work we wanted done. Mark was able to come out within 2 days, mailed us an estimate within 5 days. After we told them it was a "go", they added us to the work schedule and to our pleasant surprise came out sooner then anticipated! (Originally said it would be a week, but they were here a few days after we talked.) Here's what we had done: We probably have close to 75 ornamental grasses in several beds in our yard. They cut them down and cleaned up the waste from them, they cut down other perennials in our yard. We have more landscape beds than lawn in our yard, so it was quite a job! Money well spent! They had a crew of 3 guys and they did the work fast, cleaned up everything and the yard looks fantastic. We will certainly call them again for snow removal, and other landscape work we need in the future. They are very professional and do excellent work.

Had been out of town for the weekend, returned at 11pm Sunday night to find at least 8 inches of snow in our driveway. The township snow plow had piled lots of crusty snow blocking our driveway. It was a mess! At approx. 7:15am I called Jo Har Landscaping after finding them on Angie's List. Harold answered the phone....I was delighted I didn't get an answering machine! I really appreciate a company that opens early and actually answers the phone. I told him about the driveway, and he said someone could be out there by late morning. When I said I had a doctor's appt. in the morning and early afternoon would be better; he was very accommodating. Mark arrived with the truck at about 1pm. He was professional and personable. He did a fantastic job! Plowed all the snow to the street, then plowed it against the curb out of the way. He cleaned out the snow around the mailbox, so my mailbox is accessible. (It had been blocked when the township plowed the street.) He was very efficient and the job took only about 15-20 minutes. The forecast is calling for another 6-8in snowfall in a few days....and I am definitely calling Jo Har Landscaping again if that happens!

They would only come out when I called them to. While I was out of town I had them plow my driveway to make it look like someone was home. I would also call and leave them a voice mail to ask them to plow my driveway to make sure I could get into it and that the city plowers hadn't blocked me out. I would also frequently call them when I needed mulch, and he would come by and drop it off for me. Anything that I asked him to do, he did; it was wonderful to work with him.
