He came over to the house after making me wait around 3 weeks for the appt, did all the measuring, went over what I wanted done & then never followed up. He didn't do 1 thing. Description of Work: I've used Mike's Home Service many times on different projects - drywalling, painting, low tree limb removal, taking down old & putting up new trellis, re-cementing stones on patio and making new stone steps, resurfacing & enameling a freezer door, taking a new generator out of the box and attaching parts needed, sealing 2 sets of bathroom tiles, replacing bathroom exhaust fan. This summer (2011) I'll definitely hire him to power wash and repaint my deck and stairs.

+ -1 moreWe called Mike aprox. Dec. 20th, met with us and looked at the proposed job on the 22nd, after entertaining his and other estimates we decided to go with Mike and his co-worker Doug. Although the estimate was more expensive than a couple of the others they, by first inpressions appeared to be more professional and more knowledgable of the work to be done than ALL of the other companies. The end result confirmed our first impressions. We found Mike and Doug not only to be very professional but also very mannerly. The job was started and finished promptly. We appreciate their attention to detail, we would highy recommend them.
Description of Work: They removed a load bearing interior wall, and replaced it with a 20 ft. header along with a 40 in. high breakfast bar wall accompained by 2 centered columns. In order to accomplish this they had to erect two temporary walls to sustain the load prior to installing the permanent structure. Drywalled, finished and readied to paint. In the process had to relocate 4 electric service runs/ receptacles and swiches.

+ 0 moreWhen the shower area was finished with all new ceramic tile and fixtures I was a very happy customer. It looks like a professional did it, which is what I expect from Mike. Very detailed oriented and high quality. Because of his character and workmanship I would trust him with any job he said he could accomplish around my house. After tackling this job I'm not sure he'd want to come back around;-)
Description of Work: Mike completely gutted my bathroom shower area and rebuilt it. Structural changes needed to be made on the water control wall and some unique wall board work around a window. This was a non-traditional job as I was limited on cost so I needed him to do the shower area and I am/was working on the other areas of the room. New concrete board was installed on 3 walls and around a window and then new 6" ceramic tile was put up. New shower/bath fixtures were added and the plumbing that goes along with that.

Description of Work: Mike did a great job re-installing the handrail on our main staircase. I bought new railing brackets and used those to attach the handrail to the wall. It's a lot more sturdy now. He also helped re-align our master bedroom door that had shifted over time.

Description of Work: Tear down of old bathroom and walk -in closet. Created gorgeous new bathroom with large soaking tub, large spa shower, travertine tile in/around tub and shower, and slate tile for flooring. Mike took our rough plan and created something wonderful! He also helped to install the cabinets in our new kitchen. I would recommend Mike to anyone.
