Even though my hot water heater turned out to be fine, the gentlemen from Narrow Path showed up within 90 minutes of me calling. They showed me how to troubleshoot my hot water heater issues and were thorough, polite, and respectful. I couldn't believe how quickly they came out. They will be my go-to plumbing company from now on.

Tracy (the plumber) was on time, courteous, and friendly. He was conscientious and professional. The leak was behind drywall. Tracy made sure he had to make only one hole and that it was of reasonable size. He also suggested that instead of patching the drywall, we create an access point - just in case it happens again. I did not have to do any clean up after he left - no drywall dust and any stray pieces of metal. I am very pleased with the service and quick turn-around time to schedule the appointment. (I contacted the website on Tuesday and was able to schedule a service call for Thursday). I will call again for any plumbing issues I encounter.

We came home from work to discover that we had no water. We live in a more rural area and we are on a well. I called Narrow Path at about 6-6:30 pm and Chris and crew were at my house at by 7pm. Great after hours response. I fully expected the plumber would identify the problem, then tell me he had to order the part and would return tomorrow to repair. Not the case. Before Chris and crew left, they determined that our well pump was non functional and done for. They went to their shop and retrieved a new pump. By this time, it's pitch dark outside not to mention is was 30 degrees with aprox 20-25 mph winds...FREEZING! By those boys, but the light of their truck headlights, worked for an hour or so and got our pump installed and our water running before they left. Great service, great response and they will now be "our plumber" from this day forward!

I returned from an overseas trip on Friday night, and there was no hot water in my house. This company was very responsive, and by Sunday afternoon I had hot water again. Price was competitive with Lowe's, and working with Narrow Path was easy .

This contractor was recommended by another family-owned business (C.W. Miller & Sons) whom we highly respect. We'd noticed water in a basement area and tried to fix the problem ourselves before conceding defeat. We called Narrow Path in the morning and were told that they were booked solid for that day but that that they would try to work us in. At 4:30 we called again to get an update and were told they were coming, but the crew was coming from Cincinnati so it would be a little bit before they arrived. At 5:30, the owner, Chris, and his helper arrived and got right to work. They had a very difficult time snaking through the drain that was disgorging water because there were a number of bends and tees in the piping leading to the main sewer line. Just when we thought they were going to cut into the piping below one of the tees, Chris decided to try pulling the toilet in the basement and going in that way. That worked and he was able to clear the blockage. Because rust and mud were found in the line, Chris speculated that the piping was beginning to break down (house was built in 1962), so we'll need to keep an eye on that. Later, we discovered a clean-out in the basement bathroom that would have allowed much more direct access - meaning the problem could have been solved in a half hour. As it turned out, they had to pull and re-set the toilet to gain access to the line, and they were here for about two and a half hours. The receptionist we talked to at 4:30 said she probably shouldn't have promised earlier that they'd get there that same day because of all of the appointments they had booked. But, because she'd said they'd be there, they would be there. So, this was probably close to a 13 hour day for them. (For all of them - the owner said they had 5 trucks out all day). Nevertheless, they were professional and cheerful throughout, and they were very careful to minimize mess. They left the place looking spotless when they were done too. One often thinks of a certain national company when one has clogged drains. Try Narrow Path next time you have this problem - you'll get honest, professional service at a fraction of what you'd pay the national company.

The owner coordinated the work with one of his employees which made a bit concerned. However everything went very smoothly, his guys were good to work with, arrived on time and finished the job professionally.
Description of Work: Installed a water softener (provided by me), laundry tub and cabinet (provided by me) and a battery operated back up sump pump (provided by the plumber) in an existing home. This was all new installation. None of the fittings/water supply were present, so required tapping into existing water lines, waste lines, etc with new pipe/valves.

Chris and all of his employees were a joy to work with. From estimate to competition, Chris was available to answer all questions and made sure his guys knew exactly what needed to be done. They had to break up and remove a lot to concrete and gravel to expose the broken pipe. The guys stayed late into the evening to get the job done in one day and poured concrete at 8 pm so that work the next day would not be effected. After the job was done we had a few questions and Chris was quick to respond and explain things to us. He also found a small leak in a pipe that was not part of the original estimate and quickly fixed the problem on the spot. I will use Narrow Path Plumbing again and I recommend them to everyone who wants a good price and peace of mind.

The plumbers were very punctual and friendly. It turned out that both problems were a very quick and easy fix. They also gave me a free estimate on the cost of a new hot water heater. They were even willing to come back to my home when I noticed a second leak in the water line connecting to the washing machine and helped me clean up the mess that was caused by the leak. Additionally, they have some helpful do-it-yourself tips on their website that helped me to take care of some of the issues reported on my home inspection sheet myself, which saved me some money as well. These guys are fantastic and I will definitely be hiring them again if I have another plumbing issue.
Description of Work: I recently purchased a home and needed to take care of some problems noted by my home inspector. I had a leak in the water line going to my washing machine and a toilet that was loose. I also wanted to get an estimate on a new hot water heater since my current HW heater is 26 years old.

Provider was about an hour late to appointment; however explained how previous job had ended up being a lot larger than was explained when they were hired. Upon arrival, the provider was courteous and listened in detail to the problem(s) I called about. Provider gave me step-by-step updates of everything they were doing and completed the job in about half the time I was quoted. Provider gave me the Angie's list discount and provided me with business cards to distribute to friends as they rely on word of mouth to expand their business. I highly recommend Narrow Path Plumbing for all of your plumbing needs. I won't hesitate to call them again if/when I have plumbing problems.

I know very little about all things plumbing. I called Chris to help me diagnose my new house's sump pump and backup. He checked everything, offered a few tips, let me know that the equipment was very good, told me how to keep it in good working order. Then, because I asked, told me how to clean and maintain my water heater. No service charge - treated it as an estimate. Very professional, courteous, down-to-earth person. I will be calling Chris when next I need a plumber.

The owner showed up when he said he was going to. He was extremely responsive. He kept me up to date with his progress and communicated with me through out the installation. He was extremely easy to talk to. He noticed that my water softer is on the decline, however he did not try to push me to buy one. I would definitely recommend and would hire him again for future needs.

I have had Narrow Path service two issues in my home, once last fall and once this spring. Both times, I initiated my request using the Angie's List e-mail app and received a response within 4 hours. I am experiencing two new problems and again sent two e-mail messages (once on 10/31 and again on 11/7) using the Angie's List e-mail app but have not received a response. This is very disappointing and unprofessional. I have contacted another provider and will not be using or recommending Narrow Path in the future.

Chris Adams, owner of Narrow Path Plumbing, called us within hours of choosing his company on Angie's List. This was an excellent response as we are still waiting for a call from 2 other companies (non-Angie's List) that we'd contacted, one through their online service scheduling tool. Chris scheduled one of his crews for Monday morning, 11/02, and as committed, his crew of two plumbing technicians arrived on time. They quickly identified that the source of the running water was a break in the copper pipe running from in the wall of the utility room, under the concrete slab, then coming up into our under-stairwell closet. They capped off the pipe in the utility room to prove that they had identified the problem, and had an immediate solution. They next verified that we needed that water line replaced, as it feeds both a shower and a kitchen sink in our lover level. After advising that a copper line replacement would involve breaking up the slab, they offered an alternative replacement using PEX that could be installed through the overhead space into the closet. I wasn't able to inspect the work before releasing the workers, as I'd undergone a root canal while they did the repairs. Once I did inspect the work I didn't like the routing of the PEX inside of our most active storage closet. In addition, the workers neglected to put the washer drain hose back into the drain, causing some consternation and distress in discovering our utility room flooded every night, until we could identify the source of the water. I explained my concerns to Chris Adams, and he immediately made arrangements to come out and inspect the job, committing to resolve any issue or concern to our satisfaction. Actually, just finding an owner that cared that much about his clients went a long way to remove my concern. He came out personally to reroute the hose inside the closet, which had been routed in front of a stud. I was concerned that, in time, human activity would lead to breaking that PEX line, and flooding that closet and our entire family room. He explained the strength and durability of PEX, and that it is more likely to break the copper lines than the PEX line, but then proceeded to drill the stud, passing the line through before reconnecting it. In closing, I am completely satisfied with the final outcome of the work, and impressed by the personal touch of Chris Adams to his business. He was truly interested in making me completely satisfied with the outcome, and I agreed that there was nothing else that I wanted than some empathy over my unintended flooding from the washer drain hose. That said, I'm so glad that we have a front loader versus a tub washer.
Description of Work: Replaced a broken hot water pipe in our lower level which required running a new PEX line from the utility room, through an overhead space, and into our downstairs closet. The original copper pipe under the slab burst, leaving us with a constant flow of water for almost 4 weeks. Rather than break up the slab, we elected to have the overhead route using PEX.

They were good. The first time that they came out to my home, my toilet was clogged. So, I asked them to make it usable and flushable. They sent two guys. They kind of fixed it at that time and they asked me to buy another toilet. So, I bought it and they installed it. Then, after about one month, the toilet clogged again. I kind of got really upset. I called them and said, "You have to come to my home to fix it because I just did all the things you told me to do." I got really upset. The owner of the company himself came to my home and worked on it for maybe an hour. It worked and till now it still works. The price was okay.

It wasn't the best experience. They ended up doing what we wanted them to do but not without making a big deal about whether it was going to be covered or not. They played the game of having to call the home office and get approval and all kinds of crap like that after it had already been approved over the phone before they already showed up. So, they pretended like there was going to be extra charges and if I hadn't called them out on it they were going to go ahead and do that. And then the second piece that was frustrating was the guy disappeared for 40 minutes. I purchased the package through Angie's List. He worked about 45 or 50 minutes and then he disappeared. I think he went out to his truck. I don't know what happened. Neither my wife nor I saw him. Then he came back in about an hour fifteen from when he started and he said, Okay. Then he packed up his tools and charged us for two hours. What I gathered from that was he took a mini-break so that he could charge us for 2 hours. Until he gave us the bill and said yeah you owe us money in addition to the free time that you had purchased, he never said upfront that what you are asking me to do is going to take this much time or whatever. He said, oh yeah we can do all that. At that point, there was no way to argue with him because he was physically there into the second hour.

Narrow Path was always prompt and professional. They were able to meet my father at our house to conduct repairs a couple of times. When the initial repair was done, water was still coming from the floor by the toilet. I called Narrow Path back and they arranged to send someone else out to correct the problem and fix the leak again. They did so without issue. We are very happy with the responsiveness and work done to correct our leak. We also feel the price was fair for the work performed. We would definitely recommend them to others in the Dayton area. Thanks again!

They were very professional and did an excellent job. They suggested a water pressure pump because we had very low water pressure from our well. There were problems with the filtration system and they came out several times to correct. Final results were that he called the manufacturer and found that the manufacturer had put the insides of the unit together incorrectly at the factory and even provided incorrect directions. Once the correct instructions were given by the manufacturer to correctly put the insides of the unit together, they were able to get it to work. We appreciate that they stayed on top of it until the issues were resolved and did not charge us for the additional times that they came out. We will definitely use them in the future.

I am pretty disappointed with the lack of service my husband and I received. I called and left a message with information about out plumbing issue. Our shower broke and we needed it replaced, the lines needed fixed/replaced, we also had some minor issues with our line to the washing machine and our hot water heater needed some attention. A couple days passed and I got a call back, set up an appointment and Mr. Adams said I would get a call to confirm because he had a job that day and wasn?t sure if he would be able to make it or not. I was totally fine with that as long as he called me at least an hour before hand so I could let my husband know what was going on. Never heard from him, about 15 minutes before the appointment I called to see if he was able to come or not and Mr. Adams said he was just now cleaning up the job site and would be leaving shortly, probably be there in about 30 minutes to 1 hour, I said okay and I called to tell my husband. Mr. Adams showed up and checked out all of our issues, he was very nice and professional from what my husband told me and he took a look at everything before he left, Mr. Adams told my husband it would probably be a week before he would be able to get us the estimate, that was no totally reasonable and I had no problem with that. The following week after not hearing from Mr. Adams I started calling to see if he had anything ready, within a week I called 3 times and left a message each time, I am sure he is very busy but a phone call to at least let me know you haven?t been able to get my estimate ready yet would be appreciated. Obviously we never heard back on our estimate. Pretty disappointed with that but I'm not one to chase down a contractor for things; if you want my business you will call me back. I've worked in commercial construction for a few years and I know that no matter how busy you are each customer needs to feel important and should get individual attention based on their needs and wants. A simple phone call makes all the difference in the world.
