Butler Heating and Air Conditioning Company

In an annual inspection with a different company, my furnace was red tagged because of a cracked heat exchanger. Based on the Angie's list reputation, as well as recommendations from friends and neighbors, I had a third estimate for a furnace and ac replacement from Butler. Despite being after hours, I received a call back within minutes of leaving a voicemail and was able to get my estimate scheduled for the following morning (a Tuesday I believe). Eddie performed a detailed heat loss calculation and went over all of my options for replacing the old furnace, and I went with a 95% Lennox furnace as well as a 16seer ac unit. The new equipment was installed Friday and Saturday (Less than a week!) Quick and great service. When I need any other service I'll be calling Butler.

After buying a house & getting possession on the 16th-we had Tony come & check out our air conditioner because of the home inspection report giving us a concern on the possible leak. Tony was on time, very helpful & knowledgeable. Hope to see him in the spring in our check-up.

Butler was very thorough in evaluating our problems and providing solutions. Besides recommending which model of new Lennox equipment to buy, they evaluated our complete system, and recommended we add another cold air return duct as well. The whole process was very professionally done, from the expert salesman, to the expert installer, and even someone who patched up a hole in the plasterboard. The whole installation took 3 days (but they had the new air conditioning running the first night which made sleeping much better) including putting in a new duct, which has really made a difference in system performance. The new Lennox equipment is functioning perfectly and Butler did everything professionally and perfectly. We are very very pleased. Butler had a great team!

I recently moved into a rental house and decided to get the furnace inspected before the really cold weather strikes. I chose Butler because of their Angie's List reputation, and they sent two representatives out to complete the service - I believe one of them was in training. They got straight to work and spent about 45 minutes performing the inspection. It seemed like they did a very thorough job and had some good recommendations regarding the furnace. My only wish is that they would have communicated more of what they were doing and also directed me in regards to the filter replacement. It can be awkward having strangers working in your house, but it generally helps to have an open line of communication so it is clear what exactly they are doing. Otherwise, I was very pleased with their service.

The service technician--Mike--arrived on time and gave the furnace an inspection and tune up. He explained clearly what he did and what he observed. He found the heat exchanger to be free of cracks after a thorough inspection, contrary to what another company had told me a few days earlier. As a result, Mike saved me from embarking on an expensive repair/replacement job. As a bonus he showed me how to adjust the dampers in my furnace ductwork so as to optimize heating and cooling in various parts of the house.

Looked them up in Angie's list. Everyone was courteous, starting with the estimator. The installers worked with lot of professionalism in the July’s hot attic conditions. They created a permanent stable access up to the installed unit. The finishing was excellent and I was impressed with attention to details. There was noticeable lowering of the home temperatures due to the ventilation fans alone. We are very happy with the results.

Very well. Butler arrived on time. Very quickly assessed the problem and had the needed tools and parts to fix the problem right then. The Butler technician was very knowledgeable and easy to talk with. Butler wanted payment on the spot by credit card or check rather than sending an invoice. That was less convenient, but the work was done well and that is the most important thing.

They were very good to us. They did not charge me for the visit because they were trying to figure out the issues too. They were very helpful. I would definitely have them work on my system again. I wanted a quote on doing some things to it but they came out to see if what I wanted a quote on was necessary and if there was anything else that I needed. That was very nice of them.

We called and spoke to the receptionist, a real person!! She was very nice, and had a repairman out to our home the next day. He knew exactly what was wrong, and was able to replace the motor in our air conditioner and clean it beautifully in one quick afternoon. My husband said he was very knowledgable and personable as well. We signed up for the yearly plan which will keep our air conditioner running beautifully for a long time. Thanks Angie!!

They came out on the first visit, assessed the furnace, gave me an air conditioning Spring inspection, then ordered the circuit board from the furnace manufacturer. Then the next time, about a week later, they installed the board. Harold, the technician, was very competent and professional and overall the installation went very smoothly. He also pointed out that Butler had a coupon on Angie's List when I mentioned that I had heard about their company through the List. Will definitely use Butler again.

They were not able to find what was wrong with the furnace. We need to just buy a new one. Another company was out a few times as well and was not able to find anything wrong either. I have used them before and never had a problem with them in those experiences.

Overall very good service. Technician fixed the unit in a timely and professional manor.

Eddie at Butler Heating and Air Conditioning was very professional and courteous when providing me with estimates for new heating and air conditioning units. He was patient in answering all my questions and gave a very complete and comprehensive proposal. I received six different quotes for the new units and Butler was in the running up till the very end. However I went with another company because of a lower price. It was a tough decision because I knew Butler would do and excellent job installing because I've used them in the past for routine maintenance. It just happened that they were a little more expensive. Overall I have had positive experiences with Butler and would recommend, ask for Eddie.

Professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Performed regular seasonal maintenance on outdoor a/c unit. Found that the unit was low on freon. Fixed it and was good to go for the hot summer to come.

They were very professional and clean. They were very competitive, I got 4 different bids so they were very good price wise.

They provided pretty good service. They were very reasonable and actually they did not find anything wrong and that was impressive because normally companies would say that something needed to be fixed. I spent $85 on that service. I just remembered when called them that they were really prompt as far as getting me scheduled right away and they were on time. I was really pretty happy with it. I did not think that $85 was terrible because they were here for a long period of time, which was like an hour.

Eddie Bennett was the salesperson who handled the quote. He came out to find out what we needed/wanted. He measured/counted windows, vents, air returns, etc., and asked us about windows and insulation so he could do the calculations to determine the size of unit we needed. He was very knowledgeable due to his service experience. He told us we needed new duct work as the existing 4" duct work was too small to provide the proper air flow. We signed the contract on 9/14 and the installation started on 9/22. Due to the amount of work to be done the installation took about 3 1/2 days. The installers (Brandon and Finley) were very professional and did a great job and arrived promptly every day. They took care to protect the floors while taking out the old system and replacing with the new one. They even ended up replacing our laundry sink faucet since it got clogged up from all of the sediment in our old pipes that broke loose when they installed the hot water heater. Later when I had a question about the thermostat, Terry Phister, the installation manager, came out and changed one setting. He also explained the features of the thermostat that I didn't fully understand (specifically the fan control and the humidity settings). My favorite part of the whole system is the programmable thermostat! We should have gotten one a long time ago. We got the Edge thermostat with the expansion unit with the SD card that you can put in your computer. Although you can program the thermostat with the on-screen controls, it is even easier in the computer--just drag the line for the time and temperature. We decided we also wanted to replace our old floor registers, but were unable to locate replacement ones that were the same size since our house is over 50 years old. We asked Eddie to order us new floor registers and return air vents. He was able to locate replacement registers that are very close to what was originally there. He even went out of his way and delivered the registers to our house. In all, the whole process was very good and every one we dealt with at Butler was very professional and friendly and we feel we received excellent service. We are very happy with how the new furnace works. It is much quieter than the old one and now we can watch TV in the basement without having to continually turn the volume up and down when the furnace cycles on and off. With the humidifier it feels much more comfortable at a lower temperature than with our old furnace.

We just brought home a newborn baby only to have the furnace blower go out the following day in our home. I looked at angie's list to find a good reputable company with 24 hour emergency service (since it happened at 9:00pm) and we found Butler. Well their "supposed" 24 hour service requires you to leave a message on some answering service in which they claim you will get a call back within an hour. Well wouldn't you guess never heard a peep. So I called Extreme One Hour Heating who also provides 24 hour emergency service, and they answered promptly. I was then assigned to a tech who I was able to talk to instantly. So overall I can't say Butler is bad with there daytime appointments but don't even bother with after hour emergencies.

I joined Angie's list when I woke to find the furnace was not working. I liked the reviews for this company and that is why I called them. I was completely satisfied with the work and would call them again if needed.

I chose Butler in part because of their high rating on Angie's List, and I was not disappointed. From the patient and consultive sales process I experienced with Eddie, through to the installation, Butler is professional and first class. At no point did we feel like we were just another sale and handed off to a hurried install team. The customer experience was well managed throughout the process. After installation we encountered a defect in one of the outdoor units, and Butler replaced the unit without argument. I highly recommend Butler, they stand out in a crowded field of choices.

Salesperson, Eddie Bennett, responded to my request for quotation. He was very knowledgeable and helpful and provided me with additional information to help me better understand my options. I had quotes from other suppliers for similar equipment. I chose the Carrier system and the Ream water heater that was proposed by Butler which best suited my needs. They also provided me with an option to purchase a 10 year full parts and labor warranty. This met all my requirements. Butler was the most professional company and worked with me on price and service issues. Other suppliers did not seem to be as flexible and professional to work with. New equipment was installed on August 17. Installation team was extremely qualified and professional. Installation was completed in a day and a half. City inspector passed the installation and commented on the good quality of the installation. Salesperson dropped of a cover for the outside AC unit in the early fall (just one example of the high level of service he provided). Units all run as expected without problems. First energy bills reflect expected cost reductions for the higher efficiency equipment.

They were excellent workers. They were very punctual and did an excellent job. They came to talk to us about it. Whereas other companies just wanted to sell something; they did measurements and testing to find out exactly what we needed. The salesman came and talked to us for about an hour and twenty minutes! They come out twice a year to check the unit and do preventative maintenance.
