Requested a quote for having my waterlines replaced on 9/11. As of 9/25 if have not received a reply.

Our washing machine had backed up and run over the floor in our rec room. They came very soon after we called. Because we had never had any plumbing problems, we didn't even know where the sewer clean-out access was. The plumber calmly figured it out and was able to locate and clean out tree roots about 100 feet out from the house. We would definitely call them again!

The completed job was fantastic. The two plumbers that completed most of the work were great. They informed me what they were doing, even when they ran into problems running the new line in from the street. They answered all my questions. They were friendly and the job was completed in a very professional manner. When they removed the old tub from the second floor it was discovered that there was no floor under it. The tub was pretty much sitting on beams. I had to install a new floor before they could continue. When I had completed the new floor I contacted A-Atherton and they were back the very next day. It has been over a month since the work was completed and I have no complaints to the completed work.

After the small amount of work, the cost of labor and parts and fuel charge, I told the repairman that I coould not afford them for the other work I needed done! I called the company and asked if this was the way they normally charge, especially the $95.00 labor cost for a job my son or I could have done ourself.My neighbor could have done it he works on everything and has helped me but I had no idea suchh a small job would cost so much. I would hate to see the labor charge on a larger job. I intend to check with every plumber I can as to the cost before I have all the other work done. There are too many plumbers and with the economy as it is people are not having things done unless they are absolutely needed or they are wealthy, and having been in business myself, for over 30 years, I found the more money people have, the more cautious they are in spending it. That is why they are rich and the other 90 some percent of us are not. I have written many reports for Angies list and this is the first time I had to write one that was not Good. I may be a senior citizen and a woman, but I am not stupid. Being in business myself, I hate to write a bad report for anyone but this is needed for me and for others who trust this site for help!!!!!!!!! Unless you don't have to worry about money, get more than one estimate on any repair, large or small. I thought this was small. Oh before the bill, I told the man I need a new bathroom sink and faucets and countertop badly. He said we don't do countertops but we can drop a sink in there, the countertop is over 30 years old, black and no one with any sense would pay to put a new sink and fauceets into an old beat up countertop. I was thinking of having double sinks put in since the counter is so long, wall to wall.After I got the bill, as he said and quot;the damagesand quot; this is when I told him I couldn't afford them.

The price is reasonable. They are the ones we always call if we have a need.

They were fine. We got several estimates and the price seemed about the same in all cases. We would certainly use them again in the future.

And they didn't try to sell us anything! We chose to have them run their equipment through our outside line to the street, even though the guys said it seemed all right. It was in good shape, considering we have huge maple and pine trees in the yard, so now we are good for a while! Thumbs Up to Bill and John from Atherton Plumbing! They were on time, friendly , informative , our Golden acted like they were long lost friends, and they did a great job! We are thrilled to have our bathroom sink in fantastic working order with virtually no mess! and new peace of mind!

I was very pleased with the speed of the quote. We didn't choose them because we had already signed a contract with another company. They were nice enough to give us a competitive quote and we were able to get the price down from the other company. They were very responsive to our needs but they didn't do the work. They were great.

Overall, Ben was fantastic. He completed the work and didn't try to add anything to the job.

They didn't waste time and was very informative.

Excellent functional results, poor attention to detail. You have to watch very closely and ensure details are attended to. Attempted to blame me and contractor for lack of attention to detail. Will take short cuts. Dependent on who is doing work. But work is very good functionally.

The replacement of the hot water heater was straight forward and they did a very nice job. But while they were at my home they also tighten up two leaky faucets at n/c. Remember your cost can vary depending on what size, type and efficiency of hot water heater you have installed.

I originally had scheduled A Atherton to swap my garbage disposal from the right side of my kitchen sink to the left side of the sink.This was scheduled for Monday morning I was quoted approx. 200.00 for this service this included parts. My wife decided to put an entire pot of rice down the disposal on Wednesday night and this stopped up the sink both sides. There by making the sink unusable. I placed a call to reschedule them as soon as possible Friday morning was the agreed upon time. They did arrive slightly late. They said morning and arrived at 10AM so that is in the morning. The drain cleaner arrived first and informed me he'd have to leave after unstopping the sink. He called and had a regular plumber come out to do the move. he arrived around 11:30 and did a bang up quick job of the move. Handled the business transaction very quickly. Left me a happy customer that will give their name great marks.

They did a good job. The only problem is that they overcharge for parts. I could have gotten the parts a lot cheaper on my own and they jacked up the price for the parts. When they gave the estimate it did not include parts. When they calculate the bill they don't specify the costs of all the parts so I was uncomfortable with the final bill.

Brian arrived when he said he would, plumbed the new gas log, assembled the entire kit including embers and sand, started it, showed me how to turn it on and off, cleaned up entirely. The experience was very pleasant and professional. I didn't expect him to put everything together so that it was ready to use. He exceeded my expectations considerably.

The guy showed up in the middle of the timeframe provided and did a good job and did not waste time. He also gave some tips so I avoid making the same mistake next time.

I have never had any problems. This is a long-time family-owned business that appears to care about their customers. There are usually coupons in the Yellow Pages.

I called the Better Business Bureau to check on them. Their rating wasn't quite as good as the company I finally decided to go with. My interaction went well over all.

They are fabulous. I highly recommend them.

Except of unreasonably high cost for the parts, I was happy with the rest. While I will consider them again, I would be careful, and I may consider other service provides too.

We had a wet floor in the basement, and determined that it was caused by a pinhole in some horizontal copper pipes, which was spraying the subfloor and then dripping on the floor. I called A-Atherton in the morning, Brian arrived about 3:00 that afternoon, understood the problem and replaced the pipes in less than 30 minutes. The bill was $123, and I had a $14 coupon from Angies list, and paid $109. He cleaned up and left the area looking good as new.

I called A Atherton to come and replace a leaky cold water shutoff valve on a bathroom sink. The gentleman I talked to on the phone was very polite and offered to schedule same day service! While I wasn't available that day I scheduled for a few days later. The service technician came early, which worked out perfectly. He was done very quickly and I paid about half of what I expected to pay, and he replaced the hot water valve at the same time.

They were prompt, did excellent work, and were very adapatable. They cleaned up after themselves too!

They are expensive, but they are very good. I was pleased with them if I was a wealthy person. I asked a plumber friend what he thought of the estimate and he told me not to have it done and that I probably didn't need all the pipes completely replaced. I told them that I was going to go ahead and do it, but then I canceled. They didn't even send me a bill for them coming out.
