I ordered the deal in early February, then left for a vacation which lasted till the beginning of March. I called company soon after returning home and arranged for the service. The service man called ahead of time to give me an estimate of his arrival time which was accurate. He arrived, went to work, and was done in about 40 minutes.

lOverall a good experience. I was glad I took advantage of the deal and would recommend Overhead Door to others.

We purchased the "Big Deal" on Angie's List and called the company. When they answered and I told them we had bought the deal on Angie's List he said "Oh, you aren't supposed to call us, we contact you." (It clearly states on the deal we purchased to call the company.) I said ok and waited for them to call me. They called later that day when i wasn't home and left a message. I called them back the next morning and they said they would have the scheduler call me back. I asked if they wouldn't be able to schedule me instead of potentially missing another attempt to call me, and I was there on the phone. She said no, that the he would call me. He did not call for 4-5 days. At this point we emailed them and asked them to send some dates/times that might work. (If they hadn't already had our money up front, we would have called a different company). They responded with that day with one date and time, and it did work for us. They said that they would be out at 8:30am on that day. At 9:00am that day, the serviceman called to tell us he was running late....really? He came about 9:15am, and from there on, it was a very good experience. Knowledgeable service person (Steve, I think), friendly, helpful and thorough with his work. So in summary, very good work, very poor customer service.

Despite being an emergent situation at 9am, the phone receptionist was not sympathetic or reassuring that someone could respond quickly. A service person arrived at 3pm. He was extremely friendly and helpful and resolved our crisis situation.

I set up the appointment for repair, which turned out to be a whole new motor replacement. While the serviceman was here, he replaced the rubber stopper at the bottom of the door, for $54. The motor replacement was scheduled 3 or 4 days later. That job went smoothly. I asked about a keyless entry, which was then installed. Total for second visit was $335. Both men were friendly, helpful and professional.

Fair -- next service call I will be at home to oversee and ask questions personally.

He came out and lubed the hinges and told me there was nothing wrong with the garage door. A couple of weeks later the springs broke. I called another company to come out to complete the repairs and they stated the problem could have been prevented if a thorough evaluation of the door would have been completed.

Great experience with this company. The serviceman was prompt, polite, and tuned up and repaired the doors, all for the price of the tune up. Would definitely use this company again.

The service person called to let me know he would be here in about 10 minutes. He spent nearly 30 minutes doing his job, pointing out useful notes and answering my questions as he worked. When the work was done, he cleaned the work area to completed the job.

Overall the experience was fine. I had been meaning to get a preventative maintenance on the garage door since I saw the $99 special some time ago. The technician phoned ahead of his arrival, and was even a few minutes early, I think, which was fine with me since it was a 'first thing in the morning' type appointment. The garage door/opener functioned OK, but every once in a while it would re-open upon closing for no apparent reason. Technician went right to work upon arrival. I heard some banging and some shifting. 30 minutes later he alerted me that he was finished. Showed me the new nylon rollers that had replaced the steel rollers in the track (said it was included in this upgraded maintenance service that I purchased - I didn't know that nor did I complain). He said they would help quiet the door's operation and I believe they have. We operated the door once or twice, all worked smoothly, I signed his work order, and off he went. My only thought was, 'darn, $79 for half an hour's work...I need that job.' In all seriousness, I was satisified. I got what I paid for, and the tech was courteous, professional, and efficient.

It was excellent. He came out promptly and did the work quickly. We have had no strange noises for several months now. We are very happy with the service we received.

Technician called 30 minutes in advance. Arrived on schedule. Conducted work independently and thoroughly. The technician pointed out self-maintenance techniques I could door in between service appointments to ensure long-life of both door and door lift. Very efficient and professional service.

He also told me how to maintain the door properly. Now my garage door works perfectly no matter how cold it is. I'll definitely recommend the company to my friends.

It seems to be an excellent deal and the doors were much quieter after their service. I was happy with the work. A few months later, one of the garage doors stopped working. We called them back, they serviced it and replaced one opening system with additional payment. (Hmm, this is the second report I am writing today for the so called big deals for a standard/maintenance work, the other one was AC cleaning/tune up. In both cases, something related breaks down within 6 months of work. Their conclusion was that it was the normal failure, unrelated to their work. I'll take their words for it for now, but I am going to monitor future deals more closely., :-)

Serviceman did everything that he was supposed to. He could have paid more attention to detail i.e. cleaned bugs & dirt out of light fixture. Less than six weeks later the garage door cable failed because the bracket was rusted out. We had it repaired by a local serviceman on Thanksgiving day so that we could get our car out of the garage. The Overhead Door of Akron serviceman should have caught this obvious problem when he did the tuneup. It cost a bundle to get a man out on Thanksgiving!
