They were responsive, kept in touch while we were waiting for the door to come in, were on time, and did a good job overall. I would recommend them.

The estimator came on time, a few days after I set up an appointment, explained everything to my satisfaction. He gave a fair price for a new door (with blown-in polyurethane insulation) and ALL new hardware.) He also sent a door tech 4 business days days later to temporarily fix the spring (for free) so i could use the door and opener while I waited 3 weeks for my door to come in (I wanted a very specific, unpopular one.) The tech arrived on time (I was the first stop of the day) and installed the door. The wire for one of the opener safety sensors had been chewed up by an animal some years before, so the wire broke off during the change-over of hardware (totally understandable.) He said he was required to replace it before hooking up the door to my opener. But he came back the next morning to do so. I thought he was going to replace the wire all the way to the opener, but he only spliced the new sensor in. If I had known that he wasn't going to replace the whole wire, I would have replaced the sensor myself and saved $24. Overall, I'm happy, because I paid a fair price for the quality and R-value of door, and the service they provided. Overhead Door of Akron receives bonus points for fixing the spring at no charge so I could open the door while I waited for the replacement.

I guess they were good. The guy knew what he was doing and went right to it. I will call him again if I need more work done. The guy was good all the way around.

There isn't much explanation until I asked. They made sure it was working before they left. They cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend them to others.

Very well. We needed a quality, insulated garage door installed while we were out of town and we negotiated with Overhead Door over the phone. They described what they would do and when we returned home the new garage door was in place just as agreed. We are very satisfied with their service. The sales rep came out the day we called. But, it's been 5 weeks and we have never received an estimate for the work to be done. Very disappointed!

The service professional that performed the work was just that, a professional. Completed the work in a timely manner, cleaned his work area up (it was cleaner than when he arrived), & the price was really good.

Repair man carefully listened to my complaint and was able to identify the problem which was difficult to identify.

Very patient, informative estimate by the GM for new garage door (style, color, window or no window, ...) Took ~2 wks for Overhead door to get the new door. New Thermacore model 198 long panel, desert tan, no windows door included all new hardware (guide rails, side & bottom seals, etc). Install / tie-in to existing door opener took ~ 3 1/2 hrs. Cleanup was great - including old door removal. Price was better than from another company (that gave an impersonal estimate). I also used a $900 for $1000 of work Angie's List coupon. Overhead Door will get my business in the future.

They kind of misled me. I thought the price that they quoted me was for everything, and it was just for the parts. I would have to use them as they are just about the only ones in the area. They cleaned the area before they left. I would tell a friend about them.

Garage door worked for a while then stopped. They ca,e out a second and charged us to try and repair it again. It still doesn't work. We now have to call another place to repair our garage door

The salesman(Ken) was very nice, professional and helpful in determining what we needed. Also thought their price was very competitive. Dave the installer was also very nice, professional and helpful in doing the install and answering all questions. Overall very good experience and the garage door opener has been working great. By 4:00 Tony arrived and diagnosed that the track had become offset. Within an hour he was able to fix and lubricate the door. The home is older and the spacing of the tracks is very tight. I was impressed how quickly Overhead Door responded to my call, and that Tony was able to solve my problem within a short time, right before the weekend. I recommend Overhead Door and would definitely hire them again.

Fine. It was a simple job, I was satisfied with the work. It was 3 years ago. The only reason I am writing this review now is so Angie's list quits sending me annoying messages requesting a rating.

They installed a damaged panel but will be coming back out to replace the panel. They didn't say anything to me - I found the damage myself. They sent another tech out who verified the damaged panel and put in the order for a new one.

Accomadated my schedule and worked very quickly. Replaced both coils and lubed up the door.

Ken with Overhead Door of Akron was one of 3 quotes we got for replacement of our 2 garage doors. His price was the most reasonable for the products we were looking for, so we went with his company. His guys came out on a 16-degree day in February for our install. They arrived about an hour and a half late because they had an 'emergency call' come up earlier. It worked out ok, but I had to call to find out that information when it was getting to be an hour later than their scheduled arrival time. Once they showed up, both guys went straight to work. They were professional throughout the entire installation, and very thorough with clean-up afterward. We LOVE our new garage doors and openers. Insulation makes a HUGE difference in keeping our garage temperature steady and draft-free. We went with a panel of 4 windows in each garage door this time and really like having natural light available in there that we never had before. The openers are also wonderful. We went with belt-style openers and they are extremely quiet compared to the 20(?) year old openers we had. This was a great move since the garage is directly below 2 bedrooms.

It went very well. It took some time to get the appointment. He was very knowledgable, efficient and educated us about the new door. He cleaned up very well.

I called Overhead Door on a Friday afternoon due to our garage door not opening, and the company was able to send out a technician later that afternoon. Jayson the technician arrived promptly and was courteous throughout the service call. He explained that a broken spring was the problem, and that our second spring was also ready for replacement. Besides replacing the springs, he also installed a new keyless entry pad at our request. In addition, Jayson spent extra time helping my husband program his HomeLink opener in his car and also cleaned up the photo cell wiring for the garage door opener. I appreciated Jayson's willingness to help us with all of these extra details. We would gladly work with Jayson and Overhead Door again in the future, as well as refer this company to others.

The service tech (Jason) was very professional and took the time to inspect our other garage door and lubricate it too. Based on our conversations I asked him to replace all of the rollers on both doors as well in order to cut down on the noise when the doors opened and closed. Both doors now run a lot smoother with a significant amount of the noise reduced. When it comes time to replace the actual doors in a few years I will be sure to call Overhead Door Co. of Akron for that work as well.
