Description of Work: Perfectly fine movers, I'm sure, for a small apartment or dorm. Was an absolute disaster for me with a 4 bedroom house. I provided an EXACT inventory in advance to make sure that the truck was the right size and that everything would fit. |1) They were an hour late with no explanation. When I saw the size of the truck I pointed out that there was no way the contents of the house would fit. The lead mover sighed and said "It's going to be a rough day." (!) |2) The movers were very nice, but inexperienced. They could not figure out how to get items out of the house, they did not bring the proper tools, they did not know how to pack the truck. |3) Because they did not know how to pack the truck, the move stretched on for overtime that I had to pay for. A truck that was sent to carry the weight I had, was now not big enough because it was packed ineffeciently. They ended up making two trips and still left SO MANY small items (like chairs, end tables and shelves) that I had to hire a moving van the next day for move #2. |4) The movers informed me late into the move that they would not be able to move my stove (WHAT!) because they did not bring a wrench. They told us what wrench they needed so I bought one. They said it still wouldn't work. Guess who had to hire additional movers to get the stove out the next day? |5) I also paid overtime because they could not figure out how to get a kitchen island out the door, and could not get my refigerator in the door at the new house. All very disapointing considering the doors just needed to be removed. This was mentioned 45 minutes into trying different things by my elderly father who was observing. The refirgerator never did make it into the house, even after the doors were removed to allow it for it. Guess who had to have the refrigerator moved the next day during move #2? |6) I repeatedly had to ask them to put items on the truck. I asked 3 times to take my office desk chair, and they did roll it outside, but alas, they left it in the rain on the back porch. Another item for move #2 the next day. |7) The truck hit my new mailbox and cracked the stand. |8) Serveral items were demolished. Not broken, demolished. |9) When I called the office to let them know how the move had gone, the only response was "I'm sorry to hear that." | |I was very frustrated with this service and would not recommend them. The office was wonderful and helpful, and I sent the movers on thier way with a nice tip for trying, after all, they don't know what they don't know. They should not have been put in that situation to fail so miserably. At then end of the day it all broke down in the execution of the service.

Description of Work: Great guys, very professional. They moved everything from the apartment to our house perfectly. Once they got here, they also moved furniture from one one room to another (previously arranged for) and we're very nice about the frustrating piece that ended up having to be completely disassembled and reassembled. Would strongly recommend.

Description of Work: Moved @3 rooms of relatively light furniture & boxes -- half of it to our driveway so we could load a moving pod ourselves, the other half into their enormous moving truck for unloading to a self storage unit @1 mile away. |The deal seemed good, but you pay for their transportation time to your location and the big truck was totally unneccesary for our few items. We should have rented a small truck ourselves and hired just the labor. The workers were friendly, but not particularly energetic, efficient or knowledgable. We waited almost 15 minutes for them to arrive at the storage unit, even though they left before we did. And we ended up doing quite a bit of the physical moving ourselves. It took more time and cost more than we expected, but we tipped the workers anyway. Bottom line: don't buy bigger services than you need, ask questions regarding when the billable time starts, understand that the Angie's List special is just a starting point--time-saving may be your objective during a busy move -- but the moving company needs to cover the cost of a big truck and paid workers driving from Akron to your house.

Description of Work: I was disappointed that the travel time to and from the job was charged. I understand travel time to the job, but when they left and were on their way to another job we had to pay that travel time as well. the entire cost of the voucher was used for travel time. the two young men were very p0rofessional and competent, but we found a major damage (broken desk top glass) when we moved from the storage unit to the new residence one month later. I did not contact the company as it had been over a month and there was no way to prove it was them. I would not use them again.

Description of Work: Moved furniture from downstairs living room to main floor living room. And carried sofa bed to garage. I was concerned about weight of the saddle bag sofa and bringing it upstairs. And the weight of the sofa bed, but all went very well. I was so happy to be able to find a mover that moved items within the home that was so reasonably price. I had one quote that was for around $500. I checked out Angie's List and found reviews on Move It Now. I will recommend them to anyone who needs this service.

Description of Work: I hired them to move me from a duplex to a new home. The movers arrived 45 minutes AFTER the end of the window that I was given. This would not have bothered me except for the fact that I had to call the office to find out that they were going to be late. A proactive phone call would have been appreciated as I realize some moves will take longer than expected. When they arrived, I was informed that they had no tools, which caused a bit of a delay as I had a set of bunk beds that needed to be taken apart and I had to run to a neighbor's house to get a drill and other basic tools. The guys were great, don't get me wrong, but how can a company send out a pair of movers without ANY tools? Again, the movers were wonderful. They were quick, courteous, and careful with my furniture.

Description of Work: Moved from 2 BR townhouse to ranch house -- local move. No damage to anything. Very professional. Movers were young men and I was worried at first...but no problems. P.S. Tip your movers!

Description of Work: The overall experience with Move It Now was mediocre at best. The three gentlemen who did the job were prompt, polite and hardworking. But... |1. It took several days for the estimate for the job to arrive. We purchased a deal from Angie's List on 4/23, but it took a full week to get the estimate and contract. I felt communication from the company was lacking. |2. The estimate of the truck size needed for the amount of items we had to move was way off! Had we not moved a great deal of the items ourselves, the truck size would not have worked. |3. I had to call them on the Thurs before the Sat move to make sure everything was a go. A confirmation email wasn't sent until Fri! That's too little time to be able to make other arrangements if necessary. |4. We we told that we could leave clothing inside the dresser drawers, night stands and dressers. What a jumbled mess! Bad idea! |5. I have a jewelry keeper that is actually a 2 sided wood Cheval mirror. Items were packed inside with both mirrored doors locked. While taking the mirror out to the truck, some earrings, etc fell out. The gentleman came in with a hand full of jumbled jewelry! They had carried the mirror out horizontally and that allowed the pieces to fall out. Both my husband and I assumed they had corrected the way it was being carried. But when they brought it into the new house horizontally, you could see pieces falling out! A number of items are either missing or damaged. I would have thought they would have tried to carry it upright. It's costume jewelry, but still... |6. We have found scratches on our washer and dryer. Stuffed inside the washer was two big, heavy moving blankets that we found the next day. They didn't even miss them! There was also a moving blanket left in the garage so, we still have 3 of them here at the house! |7. Other items had nicks and dings, that if they had been a little more thoughtful about how to get things through doors, etc., might not have happened. Like, trying to take a dining room table through a doorway with all four legs attached! |8. NO ONE has called, emailed or texted to find out how our experience went! That's why this is the first time these issues have been aired. | |To their credit, the 3 gentlemen tried mightily to move a refrigerator downstairs to the basement for us after we signed a waiver. It couldn't be done, but we appreciated the effort. | |We were highly disappointed. How this company has scored an "A" is a mystery considering our experience. We will not use them again nor will we recommend them to anyone. |P.S. If someone finally calls, you can make arrangements to pick up your blankets. | |

Description of Work: I definitely got what I paid for....not much....one worker was so new he got hurt and I had to give him first aid and then he sat in the truck for the duration. Many items were scratched and dented. Next time I will pay more to hopefully get better service.
