Move It Now - Akron Canton & Medina

The young men were careful and concerned about moving all of my items. They were willing to try to get the larger items to where I needed them. I would recommend Move It Now Again!

Extremely well. It was a double move. Majority of furniture was moved to an apartment, the balance was placed in a storage unit approximately 3 miles from the apartment. The furniture was placed in the van so the apartment could be set up first, then the storage unit. It went without a hitch. Would certainly use again.

Move It Now helped us out in a pinch and fit us into their schedule at fairly late notice for a big move (from our 4,500 sf house in Akron) to a high-rise condo near Daytona Beach. Schuyler Martin was our point of contact and he was responsive and hard working. The entire team worked hard and fast. Perhaps not as sophisticated as some of the higher-end movers, but less expensive and they did a good job overall. They safely moved a number of breakable items -- large mirrors, 64" plasma TV, glass tables, etc. -- and all arrived in one piece. I'd consider using Move It Now Akron again, if needed.

Movers were very rude and unprofessional. Their truck broke down and tried to bill me for the time to fix it between houses. They broke multiple things and never got back with me about fixing them even though I called multiple times and they kept telling me someone would call me back. I would never use them again. They broke an expensive smart lightbulb and left the glass on the ground. They scratched my washer and dryer up when moving from old house. They scratched my office hutch They put a hole in my box spring They scratched my stairs in the new house They lost the hardware to put my beds back together and did not put them back together; they just left them in the spare room in pieces They completely broke my stand-alone clothes rack They scratched the door frame of bedroom I would image they easily did a couple thousand dollars worth of damage and I am still considering my options of what to do since they have never got back with me.

DELIVERED THE FURNITURE, DELIVERED WHAT THEY PROMISED! I found myself in a wonderful position-the house sold quickly-but now I had to move two houses in 12 days!!!!! I found Move It Now on a Google search of local movers. Gary, my contact person, assured me that the job could be done quickly and efficiently and that he would put as many men on the job as was needed. Christina, my office contact, was a pleasure to work with and was very knowledgeable. Believe it or not, Christina and Gary were able to schedule the move of the TWO homes for the following day! Not only did Gary deliver the furniture, he delivered on his promise. He sent two crews, 3 men to each home, and had everything done under time and under budget!! I want to thank Kyle, Tim, Kevin, Miso, Tray and Mike, the six men who tirelessly worked to make this move happen. All six of these men were kind, considerate, and were concerned every step of the way that they were making this an easy move for us-and they did. So much of the time, businesses “talk the talk” but they don’t “walk the walk”. Move It Now does both!!!! Don’t hesitate to trust them with your move. The Chawla Family

Both moves went well and were within quoted time estimates and cost. The guys were extremely careful about not damaging very heavy oak furniture, walls or flooring. The heaviest items had to be brought down a flight of stairs before going outside. We're very happy with this company and will use them again when our new home is completed.

These guys worked hard to accommodate our preferred time, including a last minute time change. And to be fair, the temperatures were frigid and the ground was icy, so not ideal. But in the weeks following our move, we found more damage to our furniture than we would have anticipated given the price we paid for professional movers. Lots of things got very dirty and there were many dings and scrapes. It is clear that they did not use pads or if they did, the pads were not clean. They could not move a sofa out of my basement and after a significant amount of time was spent coming to this conclusion, we had to leave it behind. (We later found out that the movers used by the new owners were able to move it up the stairs without a problem...) I was surprised that there was not follow up or check in from the main office given that they were aware of this issue - or even just to determine if we were satisfied customers. They did accommodate my requests to move and adjust furniture as we moved in which I appreciated. But unfortunately, I just don't feel like I could recommend or use this outfit again.

Move it now out of Akron, Ohio were unbelievable. Crew #103 DP,CR , SN AND #101 TYLER, KW, JORDAN. These guys were punctual, quick and hard working. Very nice mannerly guys. My husband and I couldn’t believe how fast they got everything loaded and unloaded. They never hit a wall, didn’t break anything and were very accommodating with my requests. My movers Tim, Coy, and Matt were phenomenal. They were incredibly respectful, honest, and trustworthy. They took very few breaks, worked incredibly hard, moved some mammoth furniture very well, and were really good at breaking items down and putting them back together. I couldn’t be more pleased with these three young men. They earned every penny they made.

Quite well. The crew did a fantastic job. All of our stuff was moved with care and delivered to the right location in the new house. All of the work was done on budget and on time!

Tyler and Tzar were one time and started working immediately after quick walk through. The challenges of multiple doors and an elevator didn’t slow them down. They came in under the quoted hours These two young men were outstanding and I highly recommend them for your moving needs. I have used move it now twice in two years. It went fantastic, the movers were nice and respectful and they made my dad and I laugh with the jokes they said. Gary is a great guy, he helped me with getting a quote and setting up the time for the movers to be there. I would recommend anyone who is moving to this company.

Chris and Gage arrived on time, worked efficiently and completed the job with professionalism. I was especially pleased by the care and patients used to move my Dad into his retirement home. In retrospect, I must confess that we were a bit unorganized and indecisive about what should move and what should stay. However, Chris and Gage got it done and my family is very please with the job that they did.

I don't believe there was a single piece of furniture that wasn't damaged in some way. They came and packed the entire house for my elderly parents. It was a good thing my brother was there to supervise as they put extremely expensive vases full of silk floral arrangements below heavy brass items. He ran around the house making sure that what was packed was packed correctly. As a result, most of the packed items survived the move in good shape. The pack out went ok with it taking 2 days at the excellent suggestion of the company. However, the move was a nightmare. My parents haven't moved in 27 years and they are elderly; so there was at least one of us children with them throughout the entire moving process. Sadly, it didn't matter. I can only assume based on the damage that they simply do not know how to load a truck. Most of their furniture is older or even antique. As I went through with the manager, Keith, on a walk through over a month after the move what was damaged, he argued with me that the damage was there already. I was very willing to own what damage was already on my parent's furniture. But when I showed him the damage that was new, he was argumentative. He spent several hours "fixing" the furniture with furniture pens to cover scratches etc. I could have done that myself. It was poorly done on some of the furniture with the scratch pens being the wrong color for the furniture. When I looked at my Dad's dresser from when he was 16 (he's 87 now) I almost cried. And, Keith argued with me over the fact that they put the empty drawers back in the dresser and then did not secure it so the drawers rubbed the finish off of the dresser around EVERY drawer. I think the worst thing to see was my parent's stereo. It was the first piece of furniture they purchased after their marriage in 1957. It had been moved 10 times (several moves across country) without 1 scratch on it. My parents didn't have a chair to sit on but they could dance. My father loved this piece of furniture and everything it stood for. Move It Now did not manage to leave a single surface on this gorgeous piece of furniture undamaged. I have no idea how they could do so much damage in a 2 hour drive. It was a heavily lacquered, gorgeous piece of furniture, once. After Move it Now got done with it, it was destroyed. I have no idea how they managed to scratch, dent and even remove chunks of the stereo in 2 hours. After fighting with them over fixing it for almost 2 months, Keith finally drove to Toledo in a pick up truck and took the piece back to Akron to a furniture repair shop they worked with there. I called regularly for updates. We did not get the stereo back until January 2018; 5 months after the move. Keith's continued excuses for why it was taking so long was that their refinishing company was waiting for a specific lacquer product. When it was returned it was clear that no lacquer product was used. The top of the stereo was stripped and polyurethaned. Obviously, the poyurethane finish did not have the depth of shine or come close to matching the remainder of the stereo. I would have called Keith to complain but it was clear that this was the best he could do after 5 months and there was absolutely no reason to continue dealings with him or this company. That piece of furniture was supposed to be handed down family member to family member; it was in excellent working condition. My brother has wanted that stereo for over 50 years. Now, he feels cheated and sad that the "repair process" destroyed such a lovely piece of furniture. Sadly, he said he would have left it with the scratches, smashed areas of inlaid brass and chunks missing rather than have them brush polyurethane on only part of it. It is a complete mess. I spend most of my time talking about the stereo but everything was damaged if it wasn't boxed. It was heartbreaking to look at my Mom an hour before Keith from Move It Now was due to arrive to discuss the damage and have her look at me and say, "How do I even begin to deal with this". They have moved most of this furniture 10 times, twice across country 3,000 miles with less damage than this little 2 hour move. My heart breaks because I recommended this mover based on the ratings from Angie's List. There is nothing they can do to make this right and frankly, 5 months of Keith's lies were enough to make even me, tired. I honestly think that if my parents had dealt with it, he would have walked all over them because he tried to walk all over me, unsuccessfully. If you are considering using this company to move your home, RUN. I can't understand how they destroyed so much with such a small move, but they did. My parents have no choice but to live with what Move It Now did to their precious things and I am sure Move It Now has put us in their rear view mirror and never given us another thought. I wish I could never give them another thought; but every time I go to stay at my parents (twice a month) I have to look at my Dad's dresser with stain runs and mismatched color where he poorly attempted to fix the damage done by his staff. I wish I had just fixed it myself so it didn't scream at me every time I walk into the guest room about my poor decision in recommending this company.

We used a promo code and seemed to have gotten a very good deal for 2 men and 4 hours. The day they were scheduled to do the move they did not arrive in the timeframe provided. We called and they said they would be late and gave us another potential time they would be at our house. That time came and went and we contacted them again, because at this point it was late afternoon/early evening and we did not want the moving process going into the evening. So they rescheduled us and told us we would have a crew that only had our job for their schedule for the day. Well, let me tell you what that meant. We got the "B" crew of two guys who had either just started working that day with the company or very recently and were EXTREMELY slow. They took the entire 4 hours that we had purchased ahead of time just loading the truck. Now mind you they were only moving large furniture, no boxes or anything else. One of the movers also complained and huffed the whole time about what he was having to move. They managed to get our refrigerator stuck in the process of moving it out to the truck and had to wait for help to arrive to get it unstuck. More time wasted that we ended up having to pay for in the end. Now, let's talk about the damage done to our furniture and refrigerator. We have some very old solid cherry dressers, those were all scratched and damaged in the move. Then the refrigerator that was stuck, which is new, both doors were dented. After reporting all of this to the company they informed us that the two guys that did our move no longer work for the company after our move. Lucky us, but you're welcome to future customers of Move It Now. All in all, we paid for 4 hours ahead of time and were billed for an additional 3 1/2 hours because our movers were slow and incompetent. Now, our experience with Move It Now, "making things right" was OK. Even though we just this past week finally got everything settled, 6 months after the move, this is the only reason I did not give this experience straight F's in the ratings. They did work with us to get repairs made to the dressers that were scratched and damaged and those repairs were satisfactory (for as much as repairs go.) They also worked with us and got one of the refrigerator doors (that was damaged the most) replaced. The other door we just decided to take a cash payout on, rather than have this process continue to drag on. I do with that the company had been a little more proactive in getting the refrigerator taken care of timely, rather that my wife needing to keep on them about it, but at least the overall result was fair in the end. My overall opinion is that we would not use this company again for any future moves. I do however believe that as long as you get the "A team" movers and they come on time as quoted, you could have a very good experience with Move It Now. Just make sure if you use them that you make certain that your movers are experienced and that if they get held up on another job before yours, that you will have access to other experienced movers from them. DO NOT ACCEPT ANYONE THAT IS DESCRIBED AS BEING ONLY ASSIGNED TO YOU. That means they are inexperienced and will not do a good job and you could end up with a horrible experience like ours that drags on for 6 months.

I've hired these guys twice now. The first move was awful for everyone involved because we were moving my elderly sister who is a very difficult person, had very unrealistic expectations, and did nothing to help the move go smoothly, (Yes, it was a move she wanted to make, we weren't forcing her to do so.) Skylar and Anthony did a fabulous job of getting things moved while keeping their cool. It was a long and difficult day, and they stayed professional throughout. Things were not perfect, but given the difficulties of the day, we were thrilled with how they handled everything overall. A few months later, I used them again to move some items from a storage locker to a second floor room, and also some items from our basement to the same room. Anthony and Keith were both great: both personable and professional. One thing I noticed about both teams is that they are well-trained to work together, and communicate constantly when moving a heavy item together. I fell that alone speaks volumes to the professionalism of this company. I would recommend them to anyone.

Move-It-Now sent their A team (Bryan and Zenin). They were very professional, kind, and careful with our items. None of our items were broken and they took the time to adjust the placement of the furniture based on our preferences. They were happy to help, easy to work with and made our move so much easier. We've used Move-It-Now before and had the same experience. The price was very reasonable. The person who worked on the quote with us was quick to reply. I would highly recommend this company and especially Bryan and Zenin to anyone thinking about moving.

Very well. Move it Now exceeded My expectations. We bought the Angie’s List special and then upgraded to include an additional person on the moving crew. It was definitely worth it. They helped pack carefully and were very patient. I would DEFINITELY use them again and I recommend them highly.
