We asked Whempys to check to see if a brush could be used to clean our woodburning stove pipe as we have concerns about using a brush and it getting stuck on the screws a competitor used to connect the pipes, as the screws seem to be too long and are pretruding inside the pipe about a inch. Bobby from Whempys simply observed the pipe from the roof and inside the house and said that he thought the brush could be used. We asked him to remove a screw to see if it was too long. He just scrubbed his shoulders, said he thought the screws were alright, went to his van and came back with a bill for $65.00. Bobby also told us that Whempys sends a lot of work to the competitor that installed our stove and piping, which makes us wonder. When we told Bobby we got his company's name from Angie's List, he bragged that his is one of the few that do not have pay to be placed on the list. We are not sure how to grade Whempys based on info above. How would you suggest we grade him?

Worker was very polite and did a good job. Explained what he was doing. Also, gave some tips when using the fireplace. Pleased with the cleaning and how he kept the area around the fireplace clean.

More than satisfactory. He could have cleaned a clean chimney but rather he showed us that it was in good shape and took the time to demonstrate how to use it as this was our first experience with a gas fireplace.

They were punctual. They were in and out of here before I knew it. They seemed to know what they were doing and they did it. My husband thought they were reasonable because he had called 3 or 4 others and was looking for something that was affordable. He was pleased.

Wow - this company did a fantastic job. I could not be more impressed. I can not remember the name of the workman - but the guy was VERY professional and when I saw the work done. Our initial call was to have the fireplace cleaned and the pilot light fixed. Installer arrived on time, determined we did not need a cleaning, explained how our fireplace worked, and went the extra mile to improve its efficiency. Visit took about 20 minutes. Overall excellent experience at a low price with friendly service.

Jim has been with the company for a long time (over 17 years) and provided several suggestions about ways to lower our heating/cooling bills and to keep the air clean. They cut a hole in our main vent and then hooked up a huge vaccum cleaner to our vents and sucked all the dust and dirt out. They got a lot out however I don't know if they were sparkling clean like they advertise. I'd probably check out others before using them again.

I was very pleased with the work that was done. The office staff was very pleasant and so was the repair person that came to my home. I would recommend them to anyone needing repair work.

Very quick and simple. I called, they asked what day I wanted, and that was it. He showed up promptly, was pleasant and professional (and very kind with my curious toddler) and did a thorough job cleaning my fireplace. Very pleasant experience, just like last time.

We were scheduled for Saturday morning but the company called that morning to reschedule because 2 workers had called in sick. We rescheduled for Wednesday between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. The worker did arrive at the scheduled time and gave me some helpful tips about keeping the chimney clean

I don't remember the man's name who came, but he was thorough. He even wanted me to look with a mirror into the chimney so I could see that he did not just fake cleaning it. He was unaware that I had already gone outside to see what he was doing and saw him using his many extensions to get all the way into the chimney. He was very helpful and gave me some tips on preserving my chimney from the weather. He was on time and timely in completing the work. The price was very reasonable and may have been a little under competitor's prices. I chose this company based on previous comments because most of them were positive. I would use this company again.

Called ahead to say they were coming. Worked from start to finish the whole 1 1/2 hours to get the job done. Seemed knowledgeable and gave pointers on care of the ducts and furnace.

I had a very nice phone conversation, and was happy that they could come the very next day. The sweep actually was finished early with previous jobs, so called, and came early to my house as well. Although, he was certainly nice, and professional, I felt that 10 minutes was not a long enough time to clean a chimney, and my last sweep (at the old house) took about an hour. He did put down a tarp in the living room, but I didn't feel he was particularly concerned about the dirt, and there were some new smudges and little piles of ash when he left. Granted, I have a 115-year-old fireplace, but I did not feel that it got very clean. The interior is still very black.

Information was helpful, but I was unhappy that I was charged $65 for them to quote me on possible future work. Also, 9am -12pm ''appointment'' time was inconvenient.
