He showed up on time, was thorough, informative, and tidy. He answered all my husband's questions.

They gave tips as they were leaving on how to keep fireplace clean. I would actually have rather had it written down, as it was rather lengthy. I asked advice on gas logs but never really got an answer. They were early for the appointment.

We had a squirrel enter the house through the chimney. (It died before it reached the furnace.)

The service person was supposed to arrive between 12:00pm and 4:00pm. He arrived on the dot of noon. He removed my wood burning stove (a lot of service people don't do this), and cleaned the chimney thoroughly. He laid down a cloth so that my living room would not get dirty and he took the utmost care to vacuum as he went so that no soot or ashes got onto the surrounding areas. He was courteous and took the time to explain to me how to properly operate my wood buring stove. The price quoted to me was $140, so I was pleased when he only charged me $119, with the Angie's List discount.

Work was completed when scheduled and for the amount quoted. I will have them return to replace an old damper as well. Good experience. The repairman displayed good communication skills.

The technician's name was Bobby. He was on time and seemed well qualified. He was very polite and cleaned up after himself so as you never knew he was there.

The chimney sweep showed up on time, was actually even a couple minutes early. I was a little late getting home for the appointment. While he was waiting for me, he took a look at the chimney from the outside. He was thorough, pleasant and quick. And also gave me a couple easy maintenance tips. Very good experience, I'd definitely call them again.

The woman who answered my phone call was very nice and informative. She let me know that their stainless steel cap might be better for us as it should never rusts and should not need replacement. She also set up a service visit during the day when we did not have to be present. The service was promptly completed about a day later. New cap looks great, and Whempys promised that if there were any problems with it (blown off roof, etc) they would come back and service it at no extra charge.

I was home when the workers arrived at the beginning of the appointment window, and they got right to work. I was not there for the rest of the appointment, but they told my husband that one of the chimneys needed to be repaired and the fireplace should not be used, so we opted to not have it cleaned. They inspected and cleaned the second fireplace. They didn't charge us full price for the second inspection (most likely because the damage was quite visually evident). They followed up by mail with a quote to line the damaged chimney. I felt the service was adequate, and I would get consider them to repair the chimney.

The sweep was 30-40 minutes late, and I was his first appointment. He was quick and knowledgable, and told me how to do what needed to be done next time myself so that I could save money. He tracked in alot of leaves onto my white carpet, so I had to vacuum after he left.

I appreciated the tips about the fireplace air venting, how to know if the wood is good to burn, and how to reduce moisture in the fireplace. They called ahead to make sure we were home and showed up on time. Done in 20 minutes.

They arrived on time and were very friendly. It only took about 15 minutes to clean the chimney/fireplace, as it must not have been very dirty. They were quick, efficient and did a good job overall. They also cleaned all of my air ducts included in the above mentioned price of $270.

They got back to us promptly and the young man came when he said he would. Work was done well and there was no mess. We have two fireplaces, and he determined that only one needed cleaning. Price was reasonable: $119 for sweep; $220 for the caps and their installation.

Whempy's did a very satisfactory job and cleared up most of the smell of ash that came from our chimney. They also checked the flues and recommended we get a chimney cap for the chimney connected to the furnace.

I took the day off of work to have them come out to clean and inspect my fireplace. They never called or showed up. I called them to ask what happened and they said they forgot and asked if they could reschedule. Of course I said NO. Very unreliable company.
