Chimney inspection and installation of a chimney cap. Service was excellent. Pricing was very fair. We can't be more happy with the service provided by Whempy's. We will certainly recommend Whempy's to anyone needing chimney service.

Jared did a great job! He was prompt, and came during expected appointment time. He called before he arrived to give me a heads up during the scheduling window. He was clean and didn't make a mess. He made recommendations and did a great job! Thanks Jared and Whempy's!

On the day the service was scheduled, it rained intermittently. The service was not provided. Since it was drizzling rain during the time the service was scheduled, I assumed the service would be delayed or rescheduled. Whempy's did not arrive during the appointed time and did not call to cancel or reschedule the appointment. Since Whempy's have not contacted me, I assume that my business is not wanted or needed; and, therefore, I have chosen not to call Whempy's to try again to arrange the service previously ordered. Instead, I am seeking a different provider.

They have always been excellent! They are neat and the staff is always very nice! We have been using them for over 20 years.

Service was prompt and quick. It was a bit pricey for the minimal work completed.

I have attempted to contact the company three separate times in order to perform work at my home. My first attempt at contact was on August 2nd. I called after hours and as I expected, received a company voice mail. I left my name and number and did not receive a call back. I then attempted to contact them through their website as a follow up (at some point the week of August 5) and did not receive an email back. Finally, I attempted one more time to email on Monday, August 12th and still have not received a call/email back.

Short story: Poor quality of work, horrendous customer service Long story: Based on good reviews from Angie’s list, in November 2012 I called Whempy’s to repair a leaking roof finally traced to my chimney. They did the work for roughly $1700. Unfortunately, my chimney still leaked. In January 2013, I sent them an e-mail with photos of what I thought was questionable quality of work. Of course, I am not a chimney expert, so I simply asked – “Is this the level of work that was intended to be done?” After a month of no response, I called them. They acknowledged that they had received the photos and were deciding what could be done about it. After about 2 additional weeks of no response, I called again. I got a response on the order of “I’ll check again with the boss to find out what they want to do.” This pattern repeated over the next 4 months. I called regularly, only to get the same response every time. Finally, I told them in late May – “Give me a call by the end of the week, or I’m moving on.” To this date, I have still not received one single reply from Whempy’s, by phone or e-mail. I’ve since confirmed with 2 other professionals that the quality of work done by Whempy’s was poor. I’m currently scheduling the work to be re-done by another company. I am very dissatisfied with Whempy’s. I asked them to fix a leaking chimney, and they didn’t. But that’s the least of my concerns - their customer service and responsiveness to my calls has been unprecedentedly abyssmal. I cannot understand how they can stay in business with such poor etiquette.

They place a drop cloth over the heart and carpet area in front of the fireplace, brushed out the chimney, vacuumed up soot in the firebox. The cleaned up when they were finished.

Workmen were on time and diligent in their work. The cost was more or less what I expected and the work was well done. I would certainly use them again and recommend them

Requested an inspection for a home being purchased. Availability of the premise was restricted until 4 pm. The person on the phone at Whempy's said it was their slow season, but they could not come out that late. If business is slow, you would think they would be more accommodating. They also call quite frequently to my existing residence to solicit business. They claim I am a returning customer, but I have never used them and never will now.

It went as expected, quick, on-time, wonderful!

I ended up having other people come out to look at the chimney and they told me no work needed to be done to it! I thought Whempy's offer was incredibly dishonest.

I called and made an appointment and they were punctual. Sometimes it's difficult to find our house because of the way the addresses run, but he called and was on time. When he came in he was very clean. It could be a dirty job, but he took all the precautions to make sure that the hardwood floors didn't get scratched or the dust didn't get out into the room and all that kind of stuff. He did the inspection and then cleaned it. He also answered all of my questions. He looked at another fireplace that we had, made some suggestions, and didn't charge anything extra for any of that. He took whatever time that was necessary, cleaned up, walked out, and everybody was happy. I thought overall it was good and the price was fair. I did shop around a little bit on it and they weren't the cheapest, but I think they were very professional and I would use them again.

They did not show up to provide an estimate. When I called them to inquire and to set up a new time, I spoke to a person and was told they would investigate it and call back. I never heard back from them. I was quite surprised considering the great reviews they had on Angie's List.

I called to schedule the appointment. They were able to get an appointment scheduled very quickly. It was much less expensive than I anticipated. The service was great.

satisfactory, but the service took only 15 minutes, not including the small talk, the technical requirements are very basic, and the cost was relatively high for the work performed.

At the conclusion of the inspection, the technician indicated that both flues were in good shape and did not need to be cleaned. What a pleasant surprise! We'll definitely call Whempy's for regular checking---and cleaning when it is needed.

They were okay. They guy who did the work wasn't terribly talkative. He was a little bit on the gruff side. But, he did the work that needed to be done. As far as we know, everything is fine. He put on the chimney cap and he didn't charge anything extra for that which I thought was very nice.

great as far as I know, I was not home when work was completed, which is fine. I assume all is good, have not noticed anything. I am not one who would climb on the roof and inspect.

He was on time and charged what was quoted. I only have one problem, I had "assumed" he would check the top of the chimney and this was not done. Next time I'll have a list of everything they are going to do before hiring them. Other than that, they did a good job.

Arrived on time as scheduled. Answered all our questions. Cleaned chimney and left everything clean when he left.

The serviceman called the day before to remind me of the appointment (4 hour range). I requested to be on the early side of the range and the serviceman did so and called 30 minutes prior to arrival. He inspected the fireplace inside and on the roof and determined that no cleaning would be needed this year. Since the inspection is less than the complete cleaning I saved about $60. He was professional, efficient and asked if I had any questions. This is the first time I had used Whempys and I was very impressed.

The gentlemen who came was punctual, efficient and polite. I appreciated that he gave me an honest assessment of my four fireplaces (2 of which are gas) and how often they really need to be cleaned (which is not as often as advertisements say). My only ding is the price. They are competitive with others but the service is so quick and seemingly easy (as opposed to say carpet cleaning) that you wonder why it costs so much.
