Within a couple of hours of my call to replace a broken spring on a garage door, the two technicians arrived. I opted to replace the spring on a second door and the rollers on both due to age, condition, and the desire to avoid another service call and a car trapped in the garage. They were courteous, neat and efficient. The price was fair. We would use them again.

My garage door was not opening - it kept getting stuck on a rough part in the runners and the motor in the older model garage door opener that we had could not push it through. I called United Garage Door in Columbus to have a look at it and to install a new garage door opener if that was what was necessary. They were able to get me an appointment right away and the technician was very punctual on the date of the appointment. He took a look at my garage door and the opener (which was installed in 1990, so I knew it was probably on its last legs!) and told me what I already knew: Not only was the garage door opener a lost cause, but it was so old, they no longer manufactured parts for it so it could not be fixed. He offered to install a new garage door opener that same day and quoted me a very fair price. I was thrilled he had the time to get to it right then and there! About an hour later, he showed me the few differences between my old opener and my knew one, played with my dog a bit, and even gave him a treat! Later, when my husband came home and I was showing him the new garage door opener, he was astounded by how quiet it was! I know I have found myself accidentally hitting the button a second time simply because I didn't hear that loud cranking noise that used to accompany the garage door in use, so I thought the garage door wasn't going up, when actually I was stopping it in progress because it made no sound! Overall, I was extremely pleased with the work of United Garage Door Columbus and will not hesitate to call them again if I ever need work on my garage door.

While they did not perform the work, they diagnose my problem that I needed a new garage door. Since my door was under warranty, I used the vendor that had my door under warranty. But I would highly recommend United because of their professionalism and expertise about the door I needed.

Garage door was very noisy, ran rough, and could not be opened with wired opener. I selected United Garage Door Columbus from Angie's list and called the company. Serviceman telephoned shortly before arriving at scheduled time, Serviceman diagnosed and resolved problem with garage door opener promptly. Replaced rollers, fixed loose electrical wire, tested system and charged very resonable price.

The work was done quickly, at the price quoted, and I am very happy with the results.

Very impressed from start to finish. Purchased the online Angie's list special for a door tuneup. They scheduled my appt the same day and were out two days later. They installed the new nylon rollers and the door is as quiet as can be. Was a great experience and everyone I spoke to was professional and courteous.

This company is very professional and knew exactly what I needed. I called for a garage door opener but the door itself was about 40 years old. They put a new insulated door in with a new garage door opener. We are loving it. I will use them again in the Spring to do a garage out back. They are gonna be my "Garage Door Doctors" from now on. They were punctual and finished in record time and my garage area was left clean and ready to use.

Very prompt (showed up when he was supposed to!), professional (asked about my garage door questions, concerns, problems and went straight to work), courteous (always knocked when he had any questions and addressed me in a very polite manner), insightful (suggestions for future reference). I was very pleased with this contractor and will tell all of my friends!

The contractor and subcontractor showed up at the appointed time. Removal of the old door took about 60 minutes. Installation of the new door took another 75 minutes or so. The crew also relocated the opener switch inside the garage. No muss, no fuss, no drama.

The work went well, they did a great job. They were fast, they came early in the morning and completed by mid-morning. The guy I talked to initially about the door also came out when the door was installed to inspect the work was very interested in the entire process and obtaining my ideas. Both men who installed the door were very professional, it only took about 3 hours when I thought it would be an all day job.

The price was adequate for the service that was provided. They were friendly and punctual.

I thought there was a broken spring so I called and a half hour later the repairman shows up! Well, the connector to the spring had fallen off from vibrations. The repairman put the connector back together, adjusted the spring, tightened the hardware and lubed. Of course I recommend this company!

The sales process was very low pressure and I felt like Mark was very up front and honest with me. For example, the wood and trim around the entry to our garage needed to be replaced due to termite damage. We spoke to several garage door companies and all of them said the could do the work if needed. However, I felt each was agreeing to do the work as a means to get the door contract and wasn't really considering the possible difficulties involved in the trim replacement. My house is older and I have learned that there is no such thing as a "simple" repair, so flippant acceptance of the work made me a little leery. The exterior is stucco, and prying the existing trim off had the potential to peel the stucco away as well. When I asked Mark if he could do the trim work, he stated without hesitation that he didn't feel comfortable doing the work. That let me know right off the bat that he was concerned about doing a good job and creating a satisfied customer, rather than simply getting a job and ignoring the potential problems he could run into in the process. His price was also very reasonable, which certainly helped. Finally, once the installation was over, I noticed that the door wasn't quite sealing at the bottom with the garage floor. I called the office and was told Mark would be out that day to take a look. He came out and confirmed that an adjustment was needed, and apologized. The apology wasn't necessary, as it was a small adjustment and I generally expect something to need tweaking with every project. However, I think it says a lot that Mark took this small issue personally and ensured that it was dealt with. He and the installer came back on the next business day to make the adjustment, and the door is now fine. We're very happy with the garage door and would recommend United Garage Doors to anyone looking for door replacement or service.
