Everything was very smooth and efficient, professional bid which gave all required information, scheduled quickly and completed all in one day. Crew was very hard working, did an excellent job on construction and cleaning up the worksite. Everyone was a pleasure to work with.

Did a great job as agreed. Made a seamless connection to neighbors property. After everything was done, I asked if they could come back to tweak the gate latch, and they did it promptly, no problems.

The fence was installed while we were on vacation. Because of the attention to detail in planning and clear communication, the fence was installed perfectly! We chose an aluminum fence that closely resembles wrought iron. It look absolutely gorgeous! We've received many compliments from the neighbors.

The workmanship was wonderful. However, we received no advance notice of the installation date, with the workmen simply showing up one morning. Having shown the work crew the survey pin and instructing them follow the pin-line, they made the unilateral decision to move the fence a foot or more onto our side of the pin line to avoid a tree. They did not ask it this was acceptable before taking this course of action, even though I was in the house the entire time they were working. In response the company offered a couple of hundred dollars off the price. I will not be using this company's services ever again.

Initial contact with Amber was very prompt. She immediately contacted me and asked if it was okay to send a commercial guy out since he lived on my side of town. I agreed. He was supposed to come on a certain day, but never showed. He said he left me a voicemail because he had a friend pass away and needed to attend the funeral. I never got the voicemail, which is odd. He asked if he could come "tomorrow (Friday) or Monday". I said "tomorrow is fine, just let me know what time", and I got no response. He finally contacted me to schedule a time for Monday - between "4:30 and 5". I texted him at about 5:45 to ask when he would be at my home, and he said traffic was bad and he was on his way. Come to find out, he went home first to pick up his son, who accompanied him on the estimate (I didn't have a problem with that, but I had a problem with the punctuality). FINALLY, I get an estimate. For LESS THAN 100 linear feet of fencing, my estimate was $3400+. My coworker recommended Trudeau to me, her estimate was just over $4000 for a 200+ linear foot fence. I asked why the discrepancy, and was told that it was "labor costs". Then I find out that my coworker is getting pressure treated wood, while I was quoted cedar as my only option. I asked about pressure treated wood, as my concern is keeping my dogs IN my yard, not a fancy fence (especially when 1 side is the neighbors' pressure treated fence and they are only installing 2 sides and a gate). I was told that they don't install pressure treated wood, and if the owner decided to, they wouldn't warranty it. DEFINITELY not using this company - I feel like I've gotten the run around too much and that there is an element of either price gouging and/or dishonesty. Maybe a different salesman would have been able to get this done, but right now, it's leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I don't like people trying to take advantage of me like that. Or wasting my time. I would look around. I got an estimate for a CEDAR fence for $1600 - there are other A rated companies out there who won't gouge you if you look hard enough.

Not as well as I would have liked. It started well. A representative came out, evaluated the job to be done, gave me a detailed quote. After receiving other quotes and reading the Angie's List reviews, I chose Trudeau. We signed a contract and I gave a $500 deposit on the job. Per the contract, the job was to be done no later than 5 weeks after the contract signing. At the end of the 5th week, on Friday, I had heard from no one so I called. I was told that they would have the dispatcher call but it would probably not be until Monday. On Tuesday I called again since I had not heard from the dispatcher. I got apologies and was told an email would be sent to the dispatcher and a copy to the owners. She also advised me that this was a busy season for them. I called again on Thursday advising I have no confidence that they will do the job and I wanted tear up the contract and get my deposit back so I can hire someone else. I did not feel I was a priority on their busy schedule. I was then told that I would be on the schedule for next week. The next week they did come out. I was home. They installed the new gate and told me they were finished. I showed them the contract and asked about the 23 feet of new fencing. They had no idea that was part of the contract! They left and came back with the additional fencing. I inspected the job with the new fencing and found it was not anchored at the top bar. Once they did that, I paid them. Sunday the representative who I originally contracted with, called to see when he could pick up the rest of the money. I advised him I gave a check to the guys who did the project. The problem I see is the communication is not good within the company. If the representative had known that they could not do the job for (let's say) 8 weeks. I would have waited 8 weeks. If the dispatcher had called me back and gave me a time past the 5 weeks, I would have accepted that. What I have a problem with is promises that are not kept and NO communication. Apparently there was also no communication with the workers who did the job.

Everything went really well until the workers dug the holes for the fence on thei right side. The fence along the back of the property was beautiful and very well done, and has aged beautifully. Since we have lived here a long time, I was able to dig and find the corner pin in the back, so we knew where to turn the corner. The owner or manager came by and found the pin in the front yard and marked it with a stake. There are bushes along the side yard. I wasn't able to be at home the day they dug the holes for the side yard, but when I came home on my lunch break I found out they had dug the holes on the inside of the bushes, rather than the outside. The bushes are in our yard. We talked about where the property line was, they were very professional and didn't complain about having to dig the holes again--I felt terrible that they had to dig them again. When I came home from work, they were gone, and the holes for the posts were still not in the right place--and some of the posts had been sunk. Instead of aligning the fence with the pin in front, the workers had seemingly arbitrarily decided on a line along the bushes. I felt really terrible, but knowing that someday if we sold our house, the new owners might want to continue the fence along the rest of the side yard, and it would be hard to do if the fence was not along the correct line, I decided to ask them the next morning to dig the holes again. Our property is a wedge shape, so it probably is hard to figure out where the property line is. In the morning, before going to work, I got a long string and tied it to the front stake and the back pin/stake to show them where the fence should go. Despite having had to dig up tons of rocks, the workers were very patient, polite and professional when I asked them to dig the holes a third time and take out the posts they had sunk. The workers were very patient with difficulties due to the odd shaped lot. I would recommend a detailed talk with the actual workers if you are going to build a fence. I had talked to the salesman at length, but somehow it didn't get communicated--and I assumed that the workers had been briefed about the fence line, when obviously they must not have been. I am very happy with the way the fence looks. My neighbors on either side of me ended up getting fences along their back property line using Trudeau's! A friend had Trudeau's build a fence around her yard, and had recommended them to me. I am glad that I decided to have them do the work.

Both the removal and restoration went smoothly. It took only a few hours to remove and store the sections of fence and some fence posts. On the day set for the re-installation, Russell Trudeau worked against the weather and managed to complete the job in one day, moments before the skies opened up. This required the installation of several new posts bolted onto the concrete, a fourteen foot section of new six foot shadow box cedar fencing, and the careful remaking of the stored fence material. The work went smoothly. This is not the first time we have used Trudeau's Fence Company. They were the original installers of our fence eight years ago. Their work held up so well -- posts as firm as they day they were put in place, gates that opened and closed smoothly and with no need for adjustment -- that we did not consider any other firm for the updating of our fence. They are just very, very good -- perhaps a bit costly, but worth every penny. Also, we were impressed by the fact that Trudeau's cooperated so well with our scheduling needs. We couldn't schedule the removal until we knew the date for the driveway work to begin; and we wanted to rebuild the fence as soon as possible after the driveway's completion. Thanks to Trudeau's, our dog was without the use of her yard much less than we feared might be the case.
Description of Work: Prior to the construction of a new driveway and patio, Trudeau's removed a considerable length of 4 foot cedar picket fence to enable forms to be set for concrete pouring. They did this in a way that preserved the materials for re-use. After the driveway had been poured and sufficiently cured, they returned to adapt the materials to the new shape and slope of the driveway, as well as to install a new section of six foot shadow box cedar fencing along one side of our expanded patio, and relocate one of the gates in the previous structure.

UPDATE 2/22: After posting my last review, Trudeau's reached out to apologize for their delayed response to our previous request and make things right. They did a great job, turning a negative experience into a positive one. I want to thank Trudeau's for their quick response to our concerns and for doing the right thing for their customers. When we moved into our home in 2013, we hired Trudeau's to install a fence for us. The experience could not have been better -- they were prompt, easy to work with, fairly priced, and did a great job. Unfortunately, when I tried to call for some minor fixes / repairs, the experience was the complete opposite. We first noticed last year that the back gate in our fence wasn't latching tightly anymore -- basically as the fence settled, the gate was pulling apart a bit. No big deal, we would just call Trudeau's and ask them to repair. I called and was told that while they did not "schedule" estimates for that type of work, they would come out to the house when they were in the area to take a look and then get back to us with a price. Seemed a little strange, but whatever. Quite a bit of time went by and we never heard from them -- but to be honest, I had forgotten about the call. Then, a month or two after my initial call, I received a voicemail from Truedau's that they had JUST seen we needed work, there had been some mix ups in the office, and to please call back if they were still needed. As it was getting to be cold outside, I just let it go and figured I'd call again later. Fast forward to December 2015, when we get a new, little dog. There are some gaps between the ground and the bottom of the fence that I figure we should get repaired, so I call Trudeau's again to have someone come out and take a look. Again, I'm told they don't make appointments for that type of work, but they'll swing by when they're in the area and take a look. A few weeks go by with no word, so I call again. This time I speak with one of the estimators (didn't catch his name, sorry), who is very nice, and very apologetic that they haven't been in touch. He says he will speak with the crew and, if they have not yet been out to the house, he will come out himself the next day and then reach out to me with suggestions for blocking the gaps in the fence (and fixing that back gate). Here we are a month later and I've STILL not heard anything. At this point, I'm done with Trudeau's. This has been such a disappointing experience, especially after the great work they did installing the fence in the first place. Apparently they're happy to take your money for the big job, but not so interested in following through on repairs. I've given them two chances now, and that's enough for me. We'll find another fence company who can actually do the job.

Let's start with the positives - the final product is beautiful. The fence is better than we had planned, installed perfectly and exactly what we had envisioned. The crew was professional, kept the yard clean, only caused very slight damage existing plantings - which are many, and in their way. The job leader checked in with us regularly and came out within a week of completion to check the quality of the work. And they were fast! I can't say enough about the quality of the install. The disappointing side to our experience was the miscommunication and lack of communication with the office and our sales person. We had some unique concerns that we needed their help with. Which we expressed clearly in person and again by email and phone conversations. They agreed to everything, yet when install day came, it was like they never heard us. Our planning agreements never seemed to make it to the install crew. Which created scheduling problems and concerns with our neighbors. We just felt that when spending this much money, we expected the planning and coordination to be as perfect as the actual install work. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not use them again. Which is a shame because of the expert installation. But it wasn't worth the hassle we ran into getting there. I would recommend their finished production, but know that if you have any special circumstances, you may have challenges, at least based on our experience.

We are very pleased with Trudeau's Fence Company's work. The existing privacy fence between our driveway and our neighbor's driveway had fallen into disrepair and needed to be replaced; the existing fence had an attractive (if irregular) configuration, and landscape plants on both sides had been planted along the fence over the years. We wanted the new fence to have the same configuration as the old fence; we anticipated that this might be difficult, as the fence was not a straight-line and the space into which it was built was tight. Trudeau's experienced crews worked long and hard, with evident attention to detail, and were professional and efficient. I asked that some of my established landscape plants be spared, if possible - and I didn't realize until I saw the work being done how difficult it would be to avoid damaging them. The crews did, somehow, avoid injuring those plants (boxwoods, small tree, peony bushes). The work took two and a half days. The crews cleaned up after the work was done each day. The new fence is exactly what we wanted, obviously well and sturdily made, and looks beautiful (we've gotten a couple compliments on it already!). I recommend Trudeau's Fence Company, and will call Trudeau's if and when I decide to fence any other part of my property.

Trudeau's installed a beautiful high quality picket vinyl fence for me at me new home. I moved to a new home and was very particular about my install date. My salesman worked very hard to ensure my date was met. He went over and above in meeting me for signings and ensure the permit was received for quick turnaround. The installation was smooth and the team was extremely professional. Trudeau's was very responsive to communication throughout the process. I had several changes with fence sizing and gates and Trudeau's adapted to meet my changes quickly and ensure I was still able to install on my needed date. My fence turned out beautiful! It is definitely the prettiest fence in the neighborhood. I've already had several people stop me to comment on how nice it looks and ask details. I would definitely recommend Trudeau's for your next fencing project!

This fence company got SLAMMED (their words)and I felt my fence was put in some pecking order. I could understand 6 to 8 weeks to have a fence installed but 10 weeks was a long time to wait. HOA and Permit was approved 4 weeks before my fence was installed. Shane did calm me down when an e-mail was sent with the wrong information, so I learned not to pay any attention from e-mails. Information should be accurate. Also, I did not receive my 3% discount.
Description of Work: If it weren't for the installers, this would have been an F. F for the way this process took 10 weeks. Company laying blame on others. I will not use them again due to their way too busy schedule. Started the fence process on June 12 and it was completely installed on August 23. All I could get out them for the reason for this lengthy time span was the Permit and HOA took so long. The permit was approved promptly and the HOA approved promptly. Now to the installers, they were great. Smiling and happy . Not one problem from them. Installers did my fence perfectly. When it comes to customer service and satisfaction the Installers win . No doubt about it.

We do apologies for the delay. We received the approved permit 7/21. This was 6 weeks after we applied for it. To me that is not prompt. This was due to the fact that the fence that you chose did not meet your deed / city restrictions. The city rejected it and a change order was needed to proceed. A permit process usually takes up to 30 days. As mentioned when purchasing the fence, we do not order material, until all of the approvals are received. At that time of sale, it was around 5 week from that point when the fence could be installed. Which we installed within that time frame.

The sales person was prompt and professional. We had a meeting with my architect and several follow-up emails to pin down details and costs. Scheduling kept me informed of upcoming date for work to begin (about 5 wks out from when contract was signed). I can't say enough about the crew. Juan and the two guys with him were a delight to work with. Very prompt on arrival time and very professional. They stayed on task and worked efficiently throughout the day. Clean up of work site was very good. In the beginning there was one problem with one of the details of the fence, but the installation supervisor admitted he overlooked the documented measurement and he had the crew promptly correct it. This was a one-of-a-kind design for them so I can see how it happened. All in all it was a very good experience and the fence and gate are awesome. I gave a B for the cost simply because I have no way to compare with other installers. I'm not sure anyone else locally does this type of custom work. All in know is I am very happy with it.

The saleman was wonderful to work with. It took longer than originally quoted to get the fence installed apparently there was a slow down at the manufacturer on the tips for the fence we ordered and we were a bit frustrated with communication, but we later learned that we were also having some internet issues, so this may have been part of the communication issues. The installers did a great job and were very professional and eager to please. They worked very hard in some of the hottest and stormiest weather we have had this summer. The job took 2 days due to the typical rocky soil typical here in central Ohio. We had a few issues, but the owner was very willing to work with us and their crew was great, so we would recommend them and use them again.

We chose Trudeau's Fence Co. because they seemed most professional to us of the three companies we interviewed. After signing a contract and setting a start date, we had to postpone it because of a death in the family. The company rescheduled to suit us and came out on a Tuesday. They had a crew of three and the boss checked in at intervals. The first day they took down the old fence and hauled the debris away. They dug holes for the new posts, and concreted in the end and corner posts. On day two, it was too wet to work because of 1 1/2 inches of rain the previous night. They still came and unloaded the boards and rails for the new fence. On day three, they had to drain water out of the post holes they had dug, and then concreted in the new fence posts. On day four, they nailed up the boards, and cleaned up. Each day the crew came in full of energy and never stopped working except to eat lunch. They had great attitudes. Garret, the group leader always talked to us before starting to work in the morning, and was very responsive to any request we made. When neighbors said that their dog would be able to get under the fence in one area, Garrett thought of adding a horizontal board to the fence to fill the gap, and this was acceptable to everyone. The crew tried hard not to trample plants we had along the fence. This company is top notch to deal with, sets high standards for themselves, and did a great job for us.

The process went very well. We had not yet moved into our home; moving from PA, so it was important that the appointment with Bob Conway occur as scheduled as I would be in Ohio for a finite period of time. Not a problem. Bob showed up on time, took a look at the project, listened to my requirements (a fence that COULD NOT be breached by two young athletic dogs), and gave me a quote. I chose Trudeau's based on the consistently excellent Angie's List reviews. After speaking with my husband via telephone, sharing with him the information included in Mr. Conway's quote, we decided to go ahead and contract the work. I called Bob who had moved on to another appointment. He said he would double back after that appointment and we could wrap up the details. At that time Bob said the workers were scheduled about five weeks out. A few weeks later Mr. Trudeau stopped at the house to look at the job and was extremely helpful in addressing concerns I had regarding the underground utility lines and box located at the rear of the property (yup, still thinking about the dogs) along with the anticipated continued growth of a tree on the adjoining property. As with Bob, I stressed to Mr. Trudeau the importance of keeping the dogs in and woodland creatures out. Mr. Trudeau told me the company's unofficial motto is "if a Chihuahua can get out, than we haven't done our job" If you're a dog owner, that's sounds like the perfect company motto! I was pleasantly surprised to receive a call a few days later asking if the fence removal and installation could begin the next day. The crew of three arrived on time, removed the old fence, and had it neatly stacked and strapped on a trailer in no time. I was amazed at how efficiently they worked. Next they augured the holes to set the posts. These posts are set very deep and concreted in. The second day the rails, fencing and gate were completed. The three gentlemen doing the work were very conscientious in assuring the fencing was aligned, straight, etc. The crew was polite, professional and extremely hard working ... it rained for two days and these three gentlemen worked for two days. There had to be some adjustments to the gate installation. No problem there, it looks great as does the entire fence. In reading another Angie's List review, I am sure that Trudeau's are not the cheapest fence installer in the area, but the fence looks great, the product quality and installation are superior. I should mention that the crew's clean up after the installation when completed was PERFECT! I couldn't find a wood chip or bit of hardware in the grass after they left. And I want to thank Trudeau's administrative staff who so professionally and patiently assisted me with questions regarding plot plan submission and invoicing. Thanks gals!

We asked for a quote to replace 140 feet of fencing. The company returned my call promptly, the salesman was professional, and they came out quickly to do the assessment and give us a quote. They suggested Cedar wood, with 6" boards. We liked them in every way but the price was just a little more than we wanted to pay.
Description of Work: Received quote for a fence

We called Trudeau to come and look at a latch that had broken off our gate. The gate was about 4years old and gets a lot of use. They came to our home a few days after we called. They are very polite and efficient and stand by their work. It was a quick fix and we really appreciate their prompt and courteous service.
Description of Work: They fixed the gate latch and spring.
