I had problems communicating with their office and couldn't get a firm appointment time; otherwise the rating would have been higher. Fortunately, their guy arrived when we were home. He had a powered portable spray unit that evenly applied an insecticide mist to shrubs in front and back yards (approx. .8 acres). We had been plagued with mosquitos nipping us on our back patio. The treatment really worked and is still working a month later.

This was the 3rd fertilizer/weed control company I've used in the past 2 years. It's night & day how much better my lawn looks than it did prior to the FIRST application. This company is head & shoulders better than the two "National" providers I used previously

Excellent. They showed up as scheduled and did a very good job. I appreciated the advanced notification so I could prep the yard for aeration.

,Because we have outside dogs, we needed to be able to schedule service (core aeration & overseeding) for when we would be home. The company will only service you at their convenience, so this deal did not work for us. Communication was not up to par, though, as response time was slow and I wasted weeks waiting for the opportunity to schedule, and they finally told me (when I finally contacted them again) that they could not accommodate my request. I would have been fine with that, had they told me that at the beginning, 3 weeks earlier, upon the initial contact after I purchased the deal. And ... yesterday on the phone ... the first question from the company was "Why do you need to be home when we come?" Well ... I had already communicated that on the message trail from the beginning. My response should have been, "Why are you trying to make me feel that there's something wrong with that concept?" I DO understand that lawn care companies, in order to do as many services as possible per day, need the flexibility of showing up whenever they want to, without much notice. But, I found out by text message at 5:30 Friday afternoon that they were going to come on Monday, tho no approx time was mentioned, nor did that allow me time to adjust my work schedule or even cancel the appointment during their office hours. And even though I left voicemails Friday evening AND Monday morning, someone showed up to do the service anyway on Monday. Lastly, I was told yesterday on the phone, "Shame on Angie's List for saying that you could request an appointment time." What? Angie's List didn't suggest that at all. I suggest that any future deals with this company (or any others) mention this in the fine print before you make the purchase. Believe me, I was NOT being a difficult customer. I was upfront from the beginning that I just need to know several (working) days in advance when a lawn treatment is scheduled so I can arrange for our dogs to be inside during the treatment and let back out afterwards. Not too much to ask of a company by a few customers, so I will find another company who is more customer-oriented.

I have no complaint about the service provided, the seeding and aeration went well. The issue I have is primarily the profession of the employee and the individuals working in the office. The employee at the house left the gate opened and two of the three dogs got out and ran the neighborhood. Fortunately we got them back before any harm came to them. In addition, the company was to come out Friday, per agreement and I awaited at the house all day. At the end of the day, I called the company and they apparently forgot me and then it was possible damaged to the equipment. I told them they could have called to let me know. They did show up late in the afternoon on Monday to do the job. The reason I stuck around was based on the fact that my yard was larger than the advertised special and they would not do the job unless they did the entire yard an additional $75. Which I agreed to. All in all, the product was good the service was bad.

It went fine--they texted the day before they came and came on the day they said they would.

Bought the Angie's List Big Deal from Organic Turf - $119 for 15K lawn aeration and overseeding. I was contacted by Jason and we discussed the timing of the service. I received a Text message 3 days prior to the date of service with details of what needed to be done on my part prior to service (mark areas that are not to be done, property lines etc). On the morning of service I called Organic Turf to inquire about an approximate time the technician would arrive - Jason was able to give me an accurate time of arrival based on the GPS info on the service vehicle and the updates on location provided by Cody - the service technician. I have to say - I was shocked. I'm used to hearing - "sometime later today - or this afternoon" Cody arrived at almost the exact time Jason indicated and we discussed the location of utility lines and the services to be provided. I watched Cody as he ran the aerator over the lawn - stopping and going back over areas that were especially compacted and varying the direction he approached the area from to insure complete coverage. As he prepared to begin the overseeding, I was sweeping some grass and debris (not associated with the service) from my dirveway. Cody stopped me and said that he would be doing clean-up with a power blower and that he would take care of the driveway while he was working. Now that's SERVICE! From my experience with Organic Turf today, i will be requesting a quote for total lawn service for next year. Both Jason and Cody were personable and professional in every respect. Did I mention that my property exceeds the 15K sq ft that the deal was for? Jason mentioned that it was 10% over but that he would not charge me for the additional area. I would say that he was trying to earn my business - and he succeeded! I would highly recommend Organic Turf for any of your lawn care needs. Thanks for a great job, Cody!

Very well. The Organic Turf Company left some info. regarding aeration for the lawn. I called and spoke with Jason regarding the aeration. We then talked about my concern regarding the overuse of chemicals on lawns to control weeds. I decided to switch services from a large well known (non-organic) company to Organic Turf. OT's prices were better, Jason was very knowledgeable, I'm supporting a small local business, and am helping the environment. It can't get any better than that!

They were very good! We have already decided we will hire them next year. The original costs of the applications are about $50 per application so we got a very good deal. They did a very good service for us. They are prompt.

Services were provided today.

Miscommunication on scheduling. Recontacted vendor and got immediate response and service. I didn't notice any mosquitos and had no complaints during a party. Certainly seemed to work, but sometimes mosquito problems can depend on other factors such as amount of water. Would use again

The dandelions and weeds stopped growing almost immediately. It was pretty amazing, as my grass "went to seed" over the past few years of illness & inability to care for the grass. I was embarrassed that the dandelions had migrated to my neighbor's lawn, but it did make it easy to see how well the treatment has gone.

Scheduling was delayed by illness in staff; treatment has greatly cut down the number of bites I'm getting by 80%. Was hoping for more but that's a great improvement ... I feel like I am a mosquito magnet. I have to be fully clothed to go outside or I get eaten alive.and without the service I had a hard time enjoying my yard. Now I go out in short sleeves and don't really mind a bite or two! It is now 2 weeks after and the mosquitos are really bad. I called the vendor back and he said it would only last up to 28 days. But it has only 2 weeks and they are really bad. They didn't call me when they were supposed to. I called the vendor and he said that it was only supposed to last 28 days.

The yard looks fine and the application appears to have been effective.

Lots of weeds still on my back yard, specially around the edges.

I paid to have a part of my yard treated, they took it upon themselves to treat my entire yard, after being told and I quote "Do not treat any part of my property prior to contacting me at my home number. There is also a dog present in the area you will be treating" They replied via Angie's list messages that are forward to your email address on file "You got it. Your call ahead has been noted and you will be getting a call a day prior to this application." You would think that was enough, but I replied again via Angie's list messaging "That will be great, but I would also like to talk with someone prior to the day before the application" Sounds easy enough, however, they did not call, even though they stated in writing that they would. As you can see this seems to be a pattern with this company even the ones that gave them an "A" have commented they seem to have a communication problem. They show up without notice, don't even bother to knock on the door as we were home at the time. They then proceed to treat the entire yard without authorization without regard to my previous wishes. It gets better, they have a prepared invoice ready, hang it on my door as they leave, without notice, the bill is for the entire yard. This guy wants to bill me for the entire yard, even after telling them, not once, but twice, do not treat my yard without my consent. This guy has got stones, can't make a phone call, can't do as instructed in writing, but he wants me to pay for something I DID NOT authorize. You have to love the way this business picks and chooses his words below. We did everything we said we would do in our welcome email. Except the part where I say don't treat any part of my yard. The audacity of some people. You would think if I told you NOT to do something prior to speaking with me, twice, As a business, you just might want to honor their wishes, guess not in this case. Oh and the part where I specified, there is a dog in the area you will be treating, I guess he took that as my entire yard. In closing, if you want someone that does not communicate, wants to overcharge you for something by saying this is what I am going to charge you, I'll leave the invoice on the door, without speaking with you and not to sure if they even treated anything as proved by the bug bites and quite happy moles, this is the company for you, but this is just my opinion.

DID AS EXPECTED , ASSUME WILL BE EFFECTIVE TREATMENT, TIME WILL TELL. WILL BE USING HIS OTHER SERVICES THIS FALL.

I haven't heard again from this company. It is now the middle of August and kids are back in school. I don't need the mosquito control now...I needed it when I ordered it. So I would like a credit.

so far so good. too soon to know if moles are gone. they killed the grubs that the moles et, so time will tell. no grubs =no moles hopefully

Only one application so far but great results, the lawn is nice and green.

Although the company said they contacted us to let us know they were coming, we did not get a call. Out dogs use the doggie door for access to the backyard and since I did not know they were coming had access to the back yard. I have no idea how they were able to spread the chemicals with out 2 dogs running around or how it could have been good for the dogs. Additionally, I purchased the $45 deal, but got an email from the company stating that because my yard was bigger it would be an additional $70.

I bought the $89 special and I am pleased with their service. we have wanted to have a professional use organic for some time now. I will continue to use them for future lawn care services. They are friendly and courteous. Provided service when they called and said they would be there. I appreciate a business that is timely.

We noticed a vast improvement in the condition of our lawn within days after the first treatment. Most of the weeds are gone, and the grass is thick and lush. Won't know the final results until after the next two treatments are applied, but we're off to a good start and right now I'm very pleased. We were required to pay a little more for the extra yardage, but it was well worth it! Was highly impressed with the applicator's professionalism and punctuality, as well as the overall dependability of this company.

We have been very very satisfied with them! Our lawn has never looked better! They've done an excellent job and we plan on hiring them for extra services.

Purchased Big Deal for $49 grub prevention service on 5-31-14. Attempted to contact The Organic Turf Co twice by phone and twice via their web site to schedule within the first 8 days. Received no response at all. Contacted Angie's list and asked them if they could help. They were able to get a hold of them and said they were told that my service was scheduled in the next few days. Two full weeks later I contacted Angie's list again and told them I had not received the service and no communication from them. I asked them to communicate to them that could come any time, day or night, to provide the service. They finally came on 7-7-14 to provide the service. Was at home during the service, but they never knocked on door or made any attempt to communicate even on the day of service. Can't really judge if the application works or not yet, but I am sure that the customer service I was provided was some of the worst I have had in years. It's amazing, but service has been provided and I have not once talked to an employee of this company. I bought, scheduled, and am now reviewing this company through Angie's List.
