The Davey Tree Expert Company- Columbus & W Columbus

I called Davey's because the season appears to be busy and the company I used before did not return my emails. Davey's responded to my email right away and Kevin came out to give me the estimate within a few days. He advised me about steps I could take to avoid removing a large maple tree and gave me an estimate to trim several trees and remove an apple tree. The estimate came in lower than I had expected, based on what I had been charged the year before for similar work. The trimmers came about 2 weeks later and the work went very well. They kept me advised of how the work was going and actually found other issues with two of the trees that would have made the cables a waste of money; they removed one tree with only the cost of the extra labor and trimmed the other so that cables were no longer needed. I was impressed with their work ethic and professionalism and I will probably use Davey's in the future to care for my trees.

At the time of the consultation, it was arranged they could show up whenever it was convenient to them. I was told they were booking 2 or 3 weeks out, but they came in 2 days. Great! I felt confident in the arborist, Kevin, and his assessments of my three trees. It was exactly what I thought needed done to have healthy trees. The weeping cherry is probably on it's last years. They removed about 1/3 of the limbs, mostly dead wood. Matt explained he went down a few feet lower on some limbs to give the tree a more natural look. And the tree looks great! Kevin had diagnosed my spruce with White Pine Weevil. Matt explained he went down an extra whorl because there was a branch that could become a natural leader, in hopes the spruce will restore it's natural shape on the top. My oak had two leaders which is not a natural shape for an oak and therefore had a weak V-crotch, and a probable split down the middle in the future. I could have probably done this one myself, but I was torn as to which leader to keep and which one to saw off. So I was happy to have them do it. Everything was completed quickly, in under two hours, including clean up. You would have never known work had been done in my yard, because they cleaned it up so nice. Everyone was polite and generous in their time to talk to me. I gave the three workers a $40 tip in addition to the final bill.

They're excellent. They're very skilled at getting to difficult places. I've been using them for years. I just trust them so I go with them.

I've had them out several times to do various things. I've always been very satisfied with them. The price was reasonable. They were always right on time. What they do is they send somebody out who scopes out the job and he sets it up. The next time they come is when they do the job and they send their crew.

We had another company look at it and they had the opinion that that was a mistake, that there was really no need to take the tree down due to the rot. They were fine. I didn't particularly like the price, but it was what was being charged by everybody else so they weren't out of the ballpark or anything. They didn't quite do it exactly the way that they said they were going to do it or they wouldn't have if I hadn't showed up. We asked them to cut and leave as much of the wood as possible, and they were going to take it all and grind it if I hadn't showed up. They definitely showed up to do the estimate and the work in a prompt manner. They didn't actually make an appointment time for me. They just basically signed up to show up at some point and they showed up when I was not expecting them there for.

They're excellent. Obviously we think the price is reasonable because we've had them for years. Otherwise, we would never.

I've been doing this with them for quite a while. It's just a local great company. They are not nationwide, they are just local here and they are great. I won't let anybody else touch my trees except them.

I've had them do considerable amount of work here over the years. They've always been very good about contacting me and showing up on the day they were supposed to at the time they were supposed to. They've carried out exactly what I wanted them to do. I do intend on using them again next spring. They've always provided exactly what I've requested for them and I think the price is reasonable. They're very responsive to my needs also. I know that a couple of times I wanted to be here when they were here. We were scheduled to do a date and I just called them that I couldn't make that date and there was no problem rescheduling. They have very great customer service. I thought their price is very reasonable. They were always here when they said they would be here.

It was fine. They were prompt, neat. I only give them a B because I felt the price was a little high but I did choose them.

The service turned out well. They seemed to be the community experts on tree health. The knowledge that they had about trees and the diseases that trees get was impressive. They were out quick. We had an Ash tree and we were trying to save it during the time of those beetles. Every other tree in the neighborhood got cut down, but ours survived. He was there when he said he was going to be there. I tried to use them again, but I sold that house and moved away and they do not come out this far anymore. I would use them again if I could.

Its been fine. They do outside work, they are professional, and they do the work quickly. They are more expensive, but they are an well known company.

Everything was fine. They did what they said they were going to do. They were polite. My interaction with them was fine. The work was fine. It's a reputable company. The quality was fine. They came on the day they were scheduled to.

We were satisfied with the work. The prices were a little high but I think it was probably average for the Columbus area. I had very little interaction with them. They did the work while we were gone. They sent an invoice in the mail at the house. The work was fine. They were able to trim a portion of the tree that belongs to our neighbor and they were very clear about what they needed in terms of the neighbor's consent. I was happy with that. They're easy to do business with. We don't have to be home to do the job. They're a little pricey. I would recommend them.

It's okay. It's costly but they get the job done. They are knowledgeable and they're not cheap.

Basically, over-all, we're satisfied. But there were some issues regarding weed treatment. My wife didn't see that it did a good job and we have called to cancel the weed treatment for this year but found out that their last spraying was only fertilizer. The point right now is, we'll probably renew the Davey as far as fertilizer's concerned but not for anything else. The response over-all with everything else was all good. We had no problem it's just that the weed kind of weren't effective. We'll go back to them again. The only thing I can say is next year you understand exactly what chemicals you're gonna use. We've gotten very concerned about pesticides and so forth so we don't allow that sort of thing in the yard. I would say to other users, make sure you understand on what chemicals they're gonna put and what they do. As far as I can recall we've had other lawn services and they were more than competitive. We get back on that issue on the weed kill, we understood that the weed treatment would be effective on certain weeds we have grown in the yard and it wasn't so I don't know if that was a misunderstanding on our part or you know, they may have told us that it wasn't going to be too effective on this particular weed, it's called sedge grass and apparently it's very hard to get rid of. The pricing on the fertilizer treatment was all good so I give them an A and maybe a B on the effectiveness. I really do believe my wife is thinking not to renew any more weed killer because it looked like we were just paying for something we didn't get. But the lawn's in good shape.

The service turned out really good. I had no problems and they did an excellent job, thay did everything they said they're gonna do. I have no complaint. They seem to really know what they were doing. They knew exactly what I was talking about, you know, they had everything written down. There was absolutely no problem. The price was a little bit high but I think I got what I paid for.

I've used them for quite a few years. I'm always pleased. I'm going to a condo so I wouldn't use them in the future.

I've always been pleased with their work. They are always dependable and stand by what they do. They are a little pricey. They are always knowledgeable. I would probably not use them because I'm moving to a condo.

We always had them for several years and we've been happy with them. The price might be a little high but I think it's probably normal. We will consider using them again in the future.

They did everything very well. I've never had any problems with anything they have done.

They've just done a good job. Their tree service is really good. They refuse to chop a tree. They say you should never chop a tree and just trim it after. They get the dead limb. So that's what I do. I've had other tree people come in the past and they like to chop off limbs that don't need to be chopped off. Frankly, I think they just do a better job. I have them on my lower deck and that's the one I call if I need them. We already contracted with them once a year to come in and aerate my lawn. When I called them, we made an appointment at that time if I'm not mistaken, they came out on that day.

I will continue to use them. I currently have services with them.

They did a good job. They are a good contractor, a good vendor. They have also done tree trimming work for us and so on, and they have taken out a tree for us. They are highly rated. My interaction with them was very good. They did a very good job. I'd recommend them. For the fertilizing of the tree, I thought it was a little expensive. As far as taking out trees and doing trimming and that kind of thing, they are very competitive.

They do what they do. They do it good.

Every time they perform a service, we’ve been very pleased with them.
