Came one week after being connected did an excellent job

Everything from the estimate visit to the actual tree trimming work was done professionally. I have no complaints.

We live in a semi-detached patio home so the removal involved our neighbor's yards in order to access our trees. Also, all the yards have irrigation systems. They were very careful and took extra precaution by laying sheets of plywood across the yards before bringing in the heavy equipment. The work was completed on time and the clean-up was done to our satisfaction. We would definitely use them again.

Came out on time and gave estimate. He looked at all the trees in the yard, not just the ash trees. I was impressed with his knowledge of the trees and pests. I was hoping to save some of the remaining ash trees if possible and asked him if there was any treatment for the emerald ash borer. He gave me a price for that, too. His price was higher to remove the 2 ash trees than another service which we ended up using, but we are considering hiring them in the spring to treat the surviving ashes.

I received a phone call at home around 7:30 - 7:45am telling me that Daley Tree service would be at my house at 8:00 am to remove one tree and trim two other trees. They arrived promptly and started to work right away. They reviewed what I wanted, allowing me to indicate the tree limbs I wanted trimmed from the trees. They were very courteous and made sure to be careful that the tree limbs didn't damage the fencing around my well when one tree was taken completely down. They took a short break and a lunch break, but otherwise worked steadily, cutting down one tree, and trimming two others, while chipping the smaller limbs in an on-site chipper and loading the larger pieces into a truck. They notified me when they were taking the bulk of the tree for dumping, and when they were taking their lunch break. They communicated with me throughout the complete job.. They cleaned up all the debris left from the work. They finished approximately 4:45 pm. The only incident was when the last tree was trimmed, one of the branches hit a spindle on my deck railing and cracked it in half. The worker trimming the tree said someone would come to fix it. The young men doing the work on this job were Kyle and Matt. It was a pleasure to have young men who showed a work ethic that is often hard to find in some workers. I would be happy to have them working in my yard again.

I called Davey for an estimate to trim a neighbor's tree that hung into our yard. We were having a fence built at the time, and our fencer said he would need us to remove a series of small trees along what we thought was our property line. I called Davey in a panic to ask that the arborist add the removal of those trees to the list of things he looked at during the estimate. He was able to do that with only a few hours notice. I called to book the trimming and the removal of the small trees, and the trimming of our maple and the neighbor's maple. After booking the work, we realized that the small trees were not on the property line, but were on our neighbor's property! That meant we no longer needed to remove them, so I called back and spoke to the guy in charge of our work order (sorry, can't recall his name) and asked that they just trim our maple tree and any branches of the neighbor's maple that hung onto our property. He said they were booking out a few weeks, but I was fine with that because this was not an urgent situation now that the small trees were not our concern. I cannot recall the date, but they came to our home mid-November and did the work. (The estimate and signing of the contract took place in October.) My husband was home and was able to talk to them, and overall we are happy with the work they did for us. They mailed the invoice to us rather than leave it at the end of the job or have us pay before they left, which was nice! Before the arborist came to our house, we did not even know what "kinds" of maple trees we were dealing with, and it was nice that he specified that for us. The arborist also let us know that Silver Maples (like the one next door) are very weak, which was scary but valuable information. He also told us that the small trees were "volunteer trees," which were there because birds left behind seeds along the neighbor's fence. We appreciated him sharing these things with us, because it made us more informed about our property. The next time we need tree services, we will absolutely ask Davey to give us a quote.

Work was fine, but thier policy was to simply return the estimate signed, & they'd fit it into thier schedule. Well, A month goes by & I still hadn't heard anything. The reply I got was, "Well, we've been busy". Granted, there were loads of downed trees this past summer. But, when I called them, they did "fit it in" just a day or two later. Gave me the impression they had just forgotten.

I use Davey Tree to take care of my trees throughout the year. I have used them for many years and will continue to use them. I trust them to take care of my trees.

The sales arborist estimated that part A would take place in 3 to 4 weeks. Seven and a half weeks later, the Davy crew arrived. It consisted or 4 men, a bucket truck, a crane, and a chipper. The tree was cut down in 3 hours with no damage to the house or fence. The crew did a good job of cleaning up the yard. Part B occurred 5 days later. This crew consisted of 2 men, a grinder, and a dump truck. The grinder operator allowed the machine to hit the brick fence knocking a section of it loose from its foundation and making new cracks in the rest of it. I considered the fence dangerous and felt obliged to repair it which turned out to be very expensive. PS. Angies List insists that I answer "yes" or "no" to the question about hiring Davy again. The correct answer is "maybe".

I have never used a service like this and had no idea what to expect. They showed up on time, were efficient and done fast. The manager responded promptly to questions I had and was very professional. Will definitely use this company next year for landscaping. Very impressed!

Service person came and knocked on door and identified himself and said he would be inspecting and treating things. There is continuity of staff which is good. We have annual contract with a pre-pay price of $439.06. We have used Davey Tree for many many years for tree trimming as well as removal. Personnel are very professional and courteous and cautious to not damage plants & flowers. They complete a job including removal of debris by sweeping driveway.

When I called (mid-September), I was told the employee I dealt with in the past was no longer there, so "Brian" was sent to write the estimate. I wanted a nice tree planted (estimate $500.00) cement pavers for what used to be a dog run taken up and sod put down there and in the area around a generator that had been installed. ($1,600.00) total estimate $2,100.00 I was told they could get to it the first week in October. The beginning of the third week in October I called to say that since it was now middle/late October I did not want to have to be watering sod in cold weather, that they could do the sod in the spring but still plant the tree. Brian tried to tell me he would have to rework both estimates, now that they would have to make 2 trips.. I reminded him that they were already going to make one trip; he only had to rewrite the estimate for the sod. First he tells me they can plant the tree that Friday, and then Tuesday he called to say they could plant it the next day on Wednesday. Wednesday morning I called the office and the receptionist told me that I was 4th on the list and they would probably be there early afternoon. At 4 PM I called again and spoke to Brian..was told no nursery had the tree I wanted. I told him it would have been nice if he had called me before I waited all day for them to arrive. Then I told him to just tear up both estimates, I would get someone else to do the work.

Bill White was very responsive in our request to have an estimate for some tree pruning at our home tree line. He provided a very detailed walk through and offerred some very good information for consideration. However, we did go another direction but did appreciate the opportunity of having him submit an estimate. His estimate, while very detailed and possibly more invovled than others was a little more cost than anticipated. I still felt very confident of the work they would have provided and will consider them in the future if we should ever need tree pruning services.

Perfect! Aborist Brian Heath was a pleasure to speak with performing our estimate. The price was right in line with two other arborists I found on Angie's list. Davey Tree was right on time with 3 weeks later lead time as Brian had advised. They gave me advance notice the morning that they were coming. The two man crew were truly strong and skilled at patiently trimming and dropping limbs and heavy trunk pieces away from our roof and fencing directly below, while leaving the 5' bottom trunk incorporated into our fencing as an actual fence post (see photos). I appreciated the main trimmer's patience in taking his time with his safety harness locations and always planning his next movement before actually making any moves. Nothing was damaged and they cleaned up our neighbor's yard and my patio and gutters better than how they were before they started. I was so sick of sweeping up those pesky Hawthorne berries that would drop on our brick patio walkway to our garage daily to avoid tracking them in our house and staining our flooring. This was a mature tree with no redeeming qualities. We couldn't be happier now!

Excellent. I submitted a request online. They responded within 1 wk to come out and evaluate and provide an estimate. I approved the estimate, mailed it back and within a week the work was done! Fabulous!

great! this is the second time we have used Davey's and the second time we had great service!

Central Ohio experienced a horrible storm causing damage to many surrounding trees and left people without power for a week. After things started dying down, I called Davey Tree Service to obtain a quote on removing a 45 foot soft maple that had split in my back yard. There were only 6 branches left and the stump. I was requesting a quote to discard the 2/3 of the tree that was down and cut the remainder 1/3 down and grind the stump. I came home only to receive an $1800 quote. I work in insurance and already knew the quote was bad. I called for an explanation and was told that these were "storm rates" and that was what he was told to charge people. I explained to him that I worked in insurance and have a database that prices these items based on area rates. He again apologized and explained they were storm rates and he only wrote what he was told to. The company was price gouging due to the tragic situation people were in. This is highly unethical and I would never use this company's service nor will I allow my insurance company to contract with them so no one else experiences this same situation when they are at need. I have since received 3 other quotes that were all over $1000 less. My tree has been removed and the company I used was amazing. Do not recommend this company at all.

This was a seamless transaction. Davey Tree was quick to present an estimate, offered a price that was in line with others, and on time to do the work. The arborist seemed to know what he was talking about in designating what was to be trimmed; the work crew was efficient in executing the plan.

I've used Davey before and as usual they were great to work with. After I called, they came to see the job and left an estimate with a detailed diagram of the trees to be cut and the cost. I called to ask them to proceed with the work and they said that it would be within a month and that it wasn't necessary for me to be present for the work. I asked them to call and notify me the day of the work so I could ensure that our dogs were not in the yard when they arrived. They called as requested and everything went smoothly. Stumps were ground about a week after the trees were cut.

They were nice and did a good job. They cleaned up after themselves well.

The crew left our property just a couple of hours ago. What a joy it was to have such a professional crew work at my home. The reason for them getting started weeks after the storm is simple. I had contacted several other tree service companies and all I got was "no-shows" at specified times for us to meet for them prepare the requisite estimate. Nobody other service provider showed up. I checked Angie's List further and found Davey Tree Service. Davey definitely should be placed higher up the list of service providers. I know they are at the top of my list.

I was told I would be worked into the rotation within the next 2 weeks and the work was done the next business day. I left for brunch with trees and returned home to find the work done. The clean up was good, not great but it was sufficient for the work done and the ability to control that many limbs and twigs. The work was done 6/25 and I received the invoice (7/10) with a due date of the end of July. The invoice matched the quoted price.I followed up to get an estimate to add the additional trees I found in the back yard with the same ailment (EAB infestation). Although I was too late to get them all done in one trip, I was given an estimate for the removal of 12 trees even better than the one for the two initial trees (on a per tree cost). This work has not yet been completed as I cancelled the established appointment in lieu of those that had serious storm damage from the wind storm that swept central Ohio.

My husband and I were puzzled by the lines of holes in the trunk of our 60-foot pine tree. Googling the problem told us the problem was caused by sapsuckers, but the posted remedies were all over the map. I called Davey Tree, who had done good work for us before, and Tom Bowman came out to inspect the tree. He said none of the remedies on the internet would work and suggested deep fertilization. The technician who did the work was friendly and answered all my questions thoroughly. A good company!

I had already used them before so I hired them again for this job. There was a problem of getting all the wood out of our property but they were happy to cut it all up and drag it out for me. I was really amazed at how professional they were and how hard they worked. This is one of the best companies I have ever worked with.
