It went very quick. They removed it right down to the ground. They explained everything thoroughly.

They are great. On the year that I first hired them, our lawn looked so bad and on the next spring, it was just as green as it could be and that was awesome. The staff that comes out leaves me notes but I have not actually met them in person. I am not at home when they come. From spring to fall, they come once a month or something and treat everything. They have been doing my lawn for like four or five years now. They sent me my spring paperwork for this coming summer just recently. I do not remember how much they charge off hand but they are very reasonably priced.

These were very large trees. It went very well. They brought in a crane and lifted some of the trees over my house. They protected my driveway with plywood before bringing the crane. It was a lot of work and they got everything done in one day. There was not even one twig left, they cleaned everything up! I would recommend them.

The results were good and the violets are succumbing (yea!!)

Punctual, professional, efficient and accommodating. This was a mature ash, over 50 feet high. The crew of four had the tree down, cut into firewood size pieces, branches removed and site completely cleaned up in less than four hours. It was a pleasure to watch professionals at work.

Update 11/21/2013: The work was done again and I am happy with it. They left a note and called the next day. I'd use them again based on the follow-up and work that was done this time. The Provider sent bill that I received on 11/9/2013. My wife and I had been doing yard work most of the day so when we received our mail we both were surprised to see a bill for the service. We both took a another good look at our lawn and saw no plugs or any indication that the work had been completed. I called on Tuesday and asked if the work was done and if they used some new method I was not aware of. The person I talked to said, no we should have seen a lot of plugs especially since it had been less than two weeks. He said he would look into it as he was not sure who had performed the work. Two days later he called back, actually he was calling another customer accidentally called me. He stated that he had come by and did find a few plugs. He also made sure to point out that it had been 2 weeks so that was a factor. Interesting that he changed his story on that. In any case, I told him I felt the work had not been done or was not done well and it should be done again. At this point I'm not sure what they are going to do as he would not commit to doing the work... So, lessons learned: 1] Make sure to get a firm date when a service is to be performed, 2] Ask that I be called when the technician arrives; especially for work like this I'd prefer to be there to review the work as it is being performed. 3] Insist that the provider leave paperwork that details the work that was performed and who did it. I've had this provider perform work in the past, trim trees - fine job!, and fertilize tress - now I'm wondering if that work was really done? In any case, if you use their services, make sure to either be there, insist on paperwork that details the work that was done and who did it, and inspect the work that day. For Davey Tree - you need to make sure to hold the people doing the work accountable, make them notify the customer when the work is to be performed, and leave paperwork with details of the work performed and who did it. In my case, this would have prevented this situation and you would have kept a customer.

When they took the trees down, they cut them up and took them off the property. Everything was all cleaned up. When we came home that day everything was done the way we had expected it to be.

They took care of all of my trees late last week and did a wonderful job, I couldn't be happier. I put in a red maple which is still very young, one of the male deer in the area decided to scratch my red maple. Brian (one of the representatives) came out today (just a few days later) and put up a fence around the tree. He was actually the one who noticed the problem. I would recommend them to everyone and even have them coming out for something else in a couple weeks.

They come 4 times a year. They are great, my lawn looks great. They are personable, and give great service.

The work was completed quickly and very effectively, with no inconvenience or complication. The quality of the work was excellent, and the cost did not exceed the initial estimate.

They arrived on time. Both men very professional, polite,knew exactly what they were doing and explained 43this during the process, cleaned branches and areas taking away all branches and twigs,

They're very good and professional. I've used them to trim trees as well, but they tend to be a little pricier. I appreciate that they have a horticulture/arborist expert, so they know not to trim the trees the wrong way or use the wrong product. I just felt that $100 was too much for spraying this year, and the Japenese beetles don't seem to be causing as much of a problem.

They are very friendly and take care of every little detail. I couldn't ask for more as far as there performance. They are very easy to work with. I can't think of anything that they do wrong or not perfect.

Tom was prompt to the appointment. Not was clear that he is very knowledgable in his field. Came up with an agreeable plan and cost. Service was done well, work crews were prompt and considerate. Clean up performed, and yard restored before they left. These guys are no amateurs. Each action though has a different 'team' to perform the job. One group takes the trees down. Another group of workers stumps them. Another still does the chemical work. I would use them again for a big job like we had.

I've used them couple of times. They are really professional and I really like them a lot. They are always punctual. They schedule an appointment, they come out, they do the work, they clean up, and they are gone.

Owner was very professional and did a good job as usual. They did what they said they would.

This review is about the first disease treatment that Davey Tree did to get rid of Tortoise Scale (which is prevalent throughout our neighborhood). The second treatment, which will take place in a couple of weeks, will involve the "deep" feeding of the trees so that they will get their strength back and recover. Scale is a tough disease to obliterate once it gets started; it's not a simple one-step treatment like in the case of other pests. (Scale sucks the life out of the tree. You can see the clear sap dripping from the scale on the branches.) This pest is very hardy and destructive; they can wipe out your landscaping. When Davey's arborist came out, he was very professional and knowledgeable; he took a tour of our property, examined our diseased trees, and he suggested a two-step process to treat, and ultimately save, our trees. He told us which trees would likely recover and which one would not. We had used Davey before (B.A. = before Angie) and were very satisfied. That''s why we decided to return to the best. (Actually last year, we tried a lawn service, tree application for the scale, but it didn't do a thing to get ride of the pest. We learned our lesson, if you want the best results, you must get the very best service--one that is very experienced and knowledgeable. If you have a pest with your lawn (grass), a lawn service would be good, but when it involves a tree, get a tree expert! Trees are assets you can't afford to lose.

Cannot get anyone to return my calls. The only reason I rate "overall" as "C" rather than lower is because Davey has a good reputation. Maybe they are too busy for my business now. Seems wierd in a 'recession'.

Davey Tree experts came to our rescue when weather had crack a major branch from a young tree, in the fall. They also recommended that we have other work done in the spring. This first experience would have received better marks, but for the follow-up this spring. When the representative came the second time and I reminded him of what he had suggested in the fall, he looked at me like I didn't know what I was talking about. We walked around the yard together ((2 other new trees), and his recommendations were totally different then in the fall. Which worried us because it made us doubt what he had done to "save" a very special tree (to us) in the fall. He said he would have an estimate back by the end of the week. It has been 2 and a half weeks, and we haven't heard a thing. I believe we will go back to using our former tree "experts".

rk.They came out 4 times; Take down the ash borer tree. Then a few weeks later, had a sub contractor take out the stump The guys who took down the tree did it quick, clean and did a great job. The sub contractor was not as professional, but did a good job. Trimmed the trees in the back yard. They were VERY professional, let me know exactly what they were doing, how they were going to do it, and answered any questions that I had. They were very clean and did a great job. The guy who put in the fertilizer also did it quickly and effectively. I was very happy with the work. I am a little out of their territory, so so it took longer than expected for them to come out. They are not the cheapest, but I believe they are worth the money.

Lightening had destroyed the tree in the back yard. Insurance paid for cutting the tree down, but not the removal of the stump. Daley tree came out and removed the stump and filled in the hole. When they finished, you could not tell that a tree he'd ever been there.

They cleaned up everything and they were very professional. I have used them for other things in the past as well. I would highly recommend them.

The actual pruning and fertilization was performed well. Davey needs to work on their service back at the office though. I had to call several times just to get someone out to quote the service. The person that answers the phone just transfers you to the number of the person that supervises your area. That person never answers the phone, forcing you to leave a message. I left several messages that were not returned. I called the main number back twice, asking the operator to let me talk to the supervisor for my area. All the operator can do is transfer you to the supervisor. After more than a week, I finally got a call back from the supervisor for my area. The supervisor came out and quoted the work. My wife was home and said that he was very nice and knowledgable. The crew that performed the pruning did a good job. They worked quickly and cleanup was acceptable. They even did some pruning on some smaller trees for me at no charge. The supervisor for my area did not visit on the day of the pruning, but the crew had a 'leader'. The leader seemed knowledgeable in tree pruning and did most of the work up on the trees. The rest of the crew did a good job, but they probably were not qualified/trained to do any technical pruning. The fertilizing was done at a later date. This plan was not explained to me ahead of time. I expected it to be done at the time of the pruning. The pruning crew leader said a different person does the fertilization and that they would call me to schedule. After a week or so of no call, I had to call Davey to find out the plan. They said they were waiting until some time the following month when they could group several trips to my area on the same day. I understand that it's convenient for them, but I didn't pay for their convenience (I paid for my convenience). The date they gave came and went with no fertilization. Called Davey, they said it was delayed. The next date they gave me turned out to be valid and they did the fertilization.
