The entire experience was easy and smooth. I went to the store and explained my needs. (t looked like a previous owner had installed a gas line converting the wood burning fireplace. It looked terrible and unsafe so I didn't use it for years.) They recommended a new burner and safety pilot since I didn't like the current method of lighting the burner with a lighter. I changed my mind while still in the store about the purchased gas logs, and they were patient and accommodating, while I selected a new set from one of the brochures. The cabinet doors required a home visit to measure my fireplace for ordering the mesh doors. I ran a few minutes late to meet the service man at my house, but he was gracious and understanding. (I had called the store asking them to notify the serviceman that I was running late. The store then relayed the message to the service man.) The second time they came out to the house, the service man trimmed the gas line, installed the burner, and set up the new gas logs. The third time they came out to install the cabinet doors. The installation was quick. All of the servicemen were knowledgeable, kind, friendly, professional and prompt.

I called three different stores to get prices over the phone. Specialty Gas was the cheapest by a good margin. I visited their location and talked to Jared. I asked about the big difference in price. He stated one reason could possibly be that employees at Specialty work strictly on salary. Some other locations work on commission. Sounded reasonable to me. When we talked over the phone he told me to bring dimensions of the fireplace. Gas logs are not a universal fit, which never entered my mind. He was very thorough in explaining the differences between vent and vent free sets and various options available. We opted for a vent free set with a remote control. A date and time was arranged for installation. Daryl arrived within the 30 minute window Specialty provided. Installation was fast. Daryl made a lot of trips to his truck and after each trip he took his shoes off when entering our house. During and after installation he was very patient about answering questions and explaining operation of the unit. On our old set the gas valve had to be manually opened and a flame starter used to ignite the gas. My wife refused to light it because of the initial noise and flame. Now all she has to do is push a button. Jared told me that vent free sets would heat the living area up because the flue does not have to be opened. Man, that is the truth. The whole upstairs gets warmer. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and Specialty Gas. I definitely recommend them and they will be my first choice for any future needs.

Specialty Gas Service was extremely knowledgeable and helped us determine the best possible solution to making our fireplace a working fireplace. Rob called me promptly and encouraged us to visit the store at our convenience. When we did, we were met with a friendly and knowledgable staff who helped us select the right product and set up installation easily. The install went just as smoothly - installer arrived on-time and finished quickly considering we had to have a gas line installed in the process. He was also very helpful with teaching us how to use the new log set. Overall excellent experience, will be using them in the future for cleanings and maintenance of the fireplace.

Eric from Specialty Gas came out late afternoon the day after Thanksgiving for a pre-arranged appointment to inspect, clean and maintain our gas fireplace. We had not been using the fireplace for some time because of the loud rattling noise that it made after being on a very short time. Eric was punctual and detail-oriented. He corrected the settings inside the fireplace and made other adjustments that eliminated the rattling noise. He removed the gas logs and gave a thorough cleaning to the entire interior of the fireplace, including the glass front which had become very foggy. As he was working, I asked numerous questions so that we would know how to turn the pilot light on and off and adjust the flame and clean the glass. He very politely answered all questions and gave me additional information. If Eric is representative of the business, I would wholeheartedly recommend Specialty Gas Services and we will definitely use them again for all of our gas repair needs. In addition, Eric was here at least 90 minutes and closer to two hours, so I feel the charges were reasonable.

The tech came to my home and fixed the problem within minutes with a minimum of fuss. Joe was the tech. He was professional, friendly, and courteous. He insured everything was done properly before he left.

Contractor was recommended to me. They quoted $600 up to 25 ft and $7 per ft. over 25 ft. Our installation required 35 ft. One phone call and they arrived within a day or so to install. Job was completed quickly and any debris was removed. Pool heater started up without any leaks or problems. Highly recommend this company.

I have a wood burning fireplace that I wanted to convert to gas logs. I visited the showroom and selected the gas logs and fireplace screen with the help of their sales associate. They were very informative and helpful in selecting the right materials. They offer a ten percent discount with a contribution of 10 can goods for a local food pantry. The fireplace screen was special order so it took about two weeks for it to come in. The install went smooth and Joe who installed it was very professional and did his job well and answered all of my questions as to the operation of the unit.

Everything from start to finish went great. They were fair with their pricing, showed up when they were supposed to, did the work in a timely manner and were totally professional. I was worried at first because they said they didn't need to see the job first hand prior to the install but when the tech arrived, we went over the options for the installation and after we agreed on the location of everything, he did the install. No problem. He said they normally carry everything they need on the truck for the different problems they encounter and seeing the job site prior to install wasn't necessary. I was very pleased with everything they did. Thank you!!

We did not know what we were doing but the gentleman was so helpful and knowledgeable. He completed the connections, pressure tested the line and provided us with a very professional hook up for the grill. He took care of the connection at the house and the connection at the site of the grill. Cost was exactly what we were expecting!

Specialty Gas was wonderful. They helped up choose the right natural gas grill for our home and installation was included in the price. They had to removed the old grill which was secured in concrete. The installer was on time and did a great job.

They were a pleasure to work with from the initial phone call to the completion of the work. I have a VERY old gas grill made by a manufacturer that no longer exists. They spent 20 minutes on the phone with me trying to determine what parts were needed,if they had the parts in stock, and if they could be ordered. They then connected me with the service department and I was given a half-hour window (rather than the traditional 4 hours) of when I could expect them. The serviceman called to let me know that he was able to arrive earlier. He replaced the burner, the tubes, the grids, and the briquettes. While the specified grids weren't in stock, he was able to find two that worked from his "magic" truck, which seemed to have everything! He cleaned years of grease and grime from the grill before replacing the parts. And when he was done he took away the old parts, the boxes, and every last bit of paper! I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

Joe came out promptly, laid down a protective tarp and got to work. Turns out I had not had the logs cleaned in some time (recommended time is every 2 years). Joe installed new "wool"--the stuff that glows like embers, cleaned everything out and was done! Joe was very courteous and knowledgeable about gas logs. He gave me some hints, and said I should provide my email so they can send a service reminder. I have had a wonderful experience with Specialty Gas and recommend them highly.

Arrived on time, protected carpet, removed glass cover, removed & cleaned ceramic logs, cleaned, tested and inspected gas burner and pilot, tested electrical current for electric starter (found & tightened loose wire on wall switch), cleaned fireplace glass cover. Found evidence of water leakage (dried) which is causing me to schedule a chimney inspection - they don't do chimney inspections/cleaning/repair. Very satisfied with service.

They were able to send someone out within a few hours of my call. The technician was prompt, checked everything thoroughly, replaced the connector and tested the gas oven and burners. The whole process took only a half hour and he was polite and answered my questions.

He was great! Did a superb job! He took his time and everything works fine. He was very personable and nice. He even took his shoes off then put down big cloth on the carpet.

Although it was the first time the fireplace was service by a qualified technician, he did an excellent job. I had the fireplace ten years, before I realized that this service should have been performed. My fireplace now looks as new as the day I moved into my new house.

Very good experience. We went to the showroom, not knowing much about gas fireplace options. Very nice, knowledgeable staff explained the various options and models. We decided on a model, provided our fireplace measurements, and scheduled the installation. And they gave 10% off the price, for donating 10 canned goods! The installer arrived on time and was very friendly and courteous. He explained what we was doing as he tested the gas line, and was sure I understood how the unit worked before he left. A few days after the installation, I realized they had charged us for installing a new gas line, even though the installer had been able to use the existing line. I called the office and explained what happened. They confirmed with the installer that he hadn't had to install a new line, and they put a check in the mail to me for the difference. No hassle or delay.

These people are reasonable in price and come when they say. They installed a gas line (the second one I've had them do) for a new cooktop we purchased. They quoted me a price up front ($300 for up to a certain number of feet of line - I can't remember how long but my work was within that limit) and stuck to it. Work was done on time and on budget. Workers were extremely courteous and respectful. While at the house, I had them look at an automatic fireplace I own that would not operate. It turns out the thermocoupler was bad - they charges me $86 to replace it including labor. A fair price considering the item costs around $40.

Yea!! Specialty Gas Services is amazing! If every contractor was as good as these guys, Angie's List would not exist. I'm getting ready to close on a home sale and I had not used the gas log fireplace in over five years. The home inspector could not get it working and flagged it, which led to me contacting Specialty Gas. Although they were booked for more than two weeks out, the dispatcher found a recent cancellation and scheduled me for thirty minutes. I received a call from the technician asking if it was okay to arrive earlier than scheduled. He gave me an exact time of his arrival, to the minute. How great is that? The technician was very careful to not get anything dirty. He had the fireplace up and working in no time, then made sure everything was arranged and working properly. He was also willing to patiently answer all my questions regarding gas fireplaces in general. Stellar performance. Thank you very much for your service!
