Overall, things went very well. This was the second time that we used them. The price was reasonable.

I want to say that the time and amount are approximate. I am only writing this because he never completed the job paid for . I called twice to remind him,both times he said he'd come but never did.He was a really nice guy and seem to clean the chimneys well but there was a small crack in the downstairs fireplace which I paid him an extra 30. to patch with mortar. He didn't have it with him and said he'd return....it's been almost a year and after two calls I guess he's not coming.He could have refunded my money and said he couldn't do it but I've seen no refund either.

They did a real nice job and their prices were reasonable.

Did not respond to calls and emails.

We called because we could not properly shut flue and we wanted an estimate on chimney repair. Soots Me installed a chimney cap, shut our flue, and discussed masonry work that needed to be done in the house (i.e., right at the fire place) and chimney repair (tuckpointing). We asked him to give us an estimate of the tuckpointing. We called twice. He never came out to give the estimate.

Was on time and professional. This is second time using this service. Will use again

I was very happy that I did it. It could have caused extreme damage. He did a very good job. He looked inside, and told me if I had a lot of creosote that needed to be clean. He said that it looked pretty clean. My husband had put something on the top of the chimney so that animals couldn't get in. We had a windstorm, and the thing was sitting crooked on the chimney. He told me that I should get it replaced. He ordered one, a better one, and then came back a couple days later to put it on. He knew exactly what he was doing.

Great! Steve(?) arrived at the house right on time and proceeded to take a quick walk through of the house so he could understand the request (inspect, sweep and quote needed repairs). He quickly cleaned the chimney checking the damper and cap. During cleanup he noted that it was in great shape and really didn't need any repairs.

It went great. We intend to use him from now on.

I can't make a comment on this as he did not show up.

I sent an e-mail and placed a call to the company, but over 2 weeks later still haven't received any response for a chimney sweep. Lousy responsiveness.

They didn’t do any work. My experience with them was fine. The representative told us that we didn’t need any cleaning work to be done. I appreciated his honesty. He was very helpful by telling us what we needed to do if we needed any work to be done but we didn’t need any work to be done at that time.

They did not show up and did not call.

It took about a week and a half to respond but well worth the wait; especially given that this is the busy season. Steve was professional and thorough. He was generous with his time and actually talked to me and showed me how to use our fireplace. I was really pleased.

After reading this company's reviews on Angie's List, I called twice to arrange a chimney cleaning and inspection. I left a message both times on Soots Me's answering machine. Neither call was returned. This seems unprofessional and wasted my time. Apparently this company does not need business . . . I went with another company that has multilple employees and a scheduler who answers the phone in person. (There was no waiting for unreturned phone calls and the appointment was set up right away.)

The owner was very professional, punctual and polite. I would highly recommend Soots Me to my friends.

We used Soots Me last year and we were satisfied so we called them back. They are very reasonably priced, friendly, on-time, and they clean up very well like they weren't even here. Their work is excellent and their bid came in at about half the price of another company's bid.

They arrived on time, listened to what I had to say such as I heard birds in the chimney, assessed the overall condition of the fireplace, spoke to me about what they were going to do and completed the cleaning work. On the outside, they again assessed the brick damage and the missing cap, made suggestions, placed a new cap on. They also wrote up an estimate of the future masonry work and brick work.

Steve showed up on time, did the main work of cleaning the chimney, then went on to remove the damper, which was not something he needed to do. It turned out to be a more difficult task than he could have anticipated, but he kept at it for quite awhile and finally got it out. I would say Steve went above and beyond what I expected of him in doing his job.

Of those I called for estimates, he was the only one that actually came over and climbed onto the roof to inspect the chimney before providing an estimate. He gave me options for repair, with his recommendation of the work. At that time, he was scheduling 2 weeks out, and showed up when he said would.

He told me it had already been done and I didn't need to do anything. He didn't even charge. He took me outside and showed me the things that are important. I like it when people show when things are wrong. He took me into he basement and showed me where the furnace had been attached. He talked to me like I was an intelligent person which I appreciated.

Everything went well. Their prices were reasonable and they were responsive. They did what they promised they would do, and I was happy with their work.

I received great, clean, efficient service. Steve explained everything that he did and what it would cost to fix the problem correctly. He took the time to do it right and did not rush through job. He made suggestions for the future without being pushy. He was even willing to answer a neighbor's questions.

Excellent work, and quality materials. Very courteous and professional. Hard to answer the questions below as he came out in the same week, but needed to order a particular part so while he came during the week we called; the work took longer to perform because of waiting for parts and the weather kept him from working on the roof.
