Description of Work: I've never experienced anything like this from a contractor... extremely difficult to "rate" ... I called Steve to schedule an appt at my home. The damper was broken in my chimney. He came out within a matter of days. He was on time...very polite...neat and clean about his work ... He was to remove the existing damper and install a a damper that sealed at the top of the chimney rather than one just above the fire grate. The work did not take long. Steve said that he thought I should have the outside brick sealed - so as to not allow moisture to penetrate the chimney. I said I would like an estimate...he said he would get back to within a week. I paid Steve - more than I was billed for the damper replacement...primarily because he was so neat..and efficient. He asked me to report on Angie's List. I wrote a glowing report. I never heard from him .... I called and called...no return call. I wrote him a letter in January 2012.asking why he never got back to me... I said IF he didn't want to do the work...just let me know. Still no response. I had NOT used the fireplace since he replaced the damper... I needed to get a new grate..get firewood..etc... the season warmed up - therefore..no usage. It is now "fireplace"season.... I made a fire in the fireplace for the first time on Monday.... what a shock...surprise when three pieces of angle iron fell into the fire. I assume these are from the old damper. I was VERY fortunate to not be hurt while putting wood on the fire. IF my complimentary review of SOOTS ME is still on file... I rescind that report. I saw that he is not accepting new customers.... probably a good thing !!!

Description of Work: My experience was similar to the "F" review. I was very interested in having him do some work but after both voicemails were un-returned, I have to assume that he does not need or want the work. I am still interested in working with him and am tempted to just go by his house and knock on the door since it is not far from us in Clintonville.

 + -1 moreTHE CREW CAME OVER ON TIME AND WENT RIGHT TO WORK. THEY EXPLAINED WHAT THEY FOUND. THE CLEANING TOOK LONGER THAN TYPICAL BECAUSE IT WAS VERY DIRTY. THEY DID NOT CHARGE EXTRA FOR THE DIFFICULT CLEANING. THE PRICE WAS WELL BELOW THE COMPETITORS. THEY ARE FRIENDLY AND HONEST TOO.
