He did an excellent job. Excellent reasonable rates compared to all of the other chimney repair companies we called in the area. He was really personable and he explained things to you. He was a good business man and he communicating well. There wasn't anything I wasn't happy with.

He seemed to do very good work and showed up when he was supposed to, weather permitting.

We had just purchased a 70-year-old house and called Soots Me to examine the chimney to determine whether the fireplace was usable. Steve, the owner, is truly a nice guy. He took his time checking the chimney and explained his findings thoroughly. In cleaning the chimney, Steve covered the hearth area completely and there was not a speck of dust after he left. He also gave me general information about caring for and maintaining the chimney and fireplace.

Great job! Mr. Guthrie was very courteous and kept things clean. He was up on the roof on one of coldest days yet and did a wonderful job. We have enjoyed many cozy fires since cleaning and are confident that the chimney is in tip top shape.

Steve arrived right on time and, after doing a visual inspection of my chimney, told me that it did not need cleaning this season. He spent time with me outside to tell me things I should keep an eye on in the future. He did not even charge me a service call since he had another call in the area.

They were great. I researched Soots Me on Angie's List. I called, and Steve was easy to get ahold of and to schedule an appointment. Steve was running a bit late for the appointment but called and let me know. He cleaned and inspected the chimney. Steve's a very friendly and pleasant person.

Got the companies info from Angie's List. Steve made an initial appointment that he had to cancel that day. We made another appointment for Saturday at 9:30. He called ahead to let me know he was coming. Pretty much arrived on time. Asked me questions on the chimney's use and history. Inspected it from inside and out. Answered my questions. Told me I would probably need to have it looked at every other year. The whole process took about an hour. He was friendly, professional and seemed very knowledgeable. Would use him again.

It's always a delight to have Steve come out to make sure our chimney is clean and working properly. When our children were small, he'd make sure to leave a scrap of red felt for them to find as proof Santa had arrived!

I was very pleased by both the quality of job done as well as the information they shared with me. Given that our fireplace is gas, the rep was very honest in saying that we did not need an annual cleaning. I appreciated the information as it saved us money in unnecessary maintenance. Steve gave us a detailed estimate on several steps we could take to eliminate some condensation in the house and make cosmetic repairs to the chimneys. We decided to do the cheapest steps first and had him repair the flashing. Although bad weather intervened, he completed the job as quickly as possible and it looks great. He was easy to work with and very friendly. He knows older houses!

I was selling a house and needed this work done in order to close the sale, so I had to get it done quickly. Steve was prompt in giving me an estimate, and came out a few days later to do the work. His price was about 30% less than one other estimate I got. He knew I needed the invoice quickly to close on the house, so he drove up to my new house to deliver it to me. Excellent service! Easy to work with. I would definitely use again.

Three of those flues came from wood burning fireplaces. I was prepared to have them cleaned but Steve said they had no creosote build up and, in all honesty, it would just be ''going through the motions''. I appreciated his integrity. Steve worked with the winter weather constraints in two separate sessions. He is a good craftsman and all of his work was well done. He was on time as we scheduled and the final price was within the quoted range. I was impressed that he was working in the dead of winter, not an easy time to be on top of a chimney, three stories up in the weather. He is easy to work with and I certainly would recommend him to others.

Steve was extremely professional and knowledgeable about his craft. Returned calls promptly. Arrived on time. His suggestions were WONDERFUL and creative - ranging from the inexpensive solution, to a larger scale replacement of the cheap fireplace originally installed by the builder. Steve was very professional and personable. He did a great job and was very thorough, even in keeping the work area clean. While inspecting the chimney to determine if it needed swept, Steve determined that our chimney cap had been handmade some time ago and was rusting out, making it not as effective as it could be. When Steve came back in from his inspection, he informed me that he'd gone ahead and removed the old cap and installed a new one at no charge. I was amazed! Talk about great service and an honest service provider. Steve also provided a few tips on keeping the chimney clean and in good shape as well as estimating frequency of cleaning. We'll definitely hire Steve for future chimney sweeping jobs!
