It went great - John was wonderful. I do have to check out another issue that came up, but everything is working fine so far. I loved that they came out on Saturday, and within an hour of my call. I've always been happy with their service.

We were not pleased. They tried to dig out some roots but that didn't help. They recommended some pipe work and the cost was way out of range. I think they're just trying to rip people off and get them to spend money that's not necessary. They were kind of pushy and seemed unprofessional. Don't ever sign a contract without checking with other businesses similar to theirs as far as price. They sent out 2 technicians. Their responsiveness was good.

I called to see what time they could come over to unclog the drain. They gave me an estimated of an hour, which I thought was very fair. When the Roto-Rooter (Ray) employee came to my house he first inspected the problem and then quoted me a price. I thought at first it was to high. There was a $40.00 coupon that I could of printed out on-line towards the total cost. We came to an agreement on a price without needing to use the coupon. I know I could of waited a few days and maybe gotten a better price, but I needed to have it fixed and I'm happy with the results. I thought Ray was very fair and professional working with me on a price for his service. I'm happy to report that the drain is clog free. Ray is an excellent example on how to represent a company.

This is the second service I've used Roto Rooter for and will keep them on speed dial. They are so fast, like same or next day with lots of schedule flexibility. The guys worked quickly but still did everything correctly; they tested the new pump and made adjustments that I would never have known to do. The company's techs always answer questions. When they left, everything had been cleaned up and explained the bill fully. This company reliable and convenient.

I called Roto-Rooter with an Emergency Sump Pump Issue. I needed to have the Sump Pump replaced and Roto-Rooter was able to complete the work within 2.5 hours of my call. Timing was important was my Sump Pit was still filling with water from a recent rain. The work performed by the technician (#1482) was very professional.

Upon turning on the main shut-off at the meter, I could hear water running within the first floor wall. Outside the house, water was cascading down the siding. I called Roto-Rooter Plumbing and told them about the problem and they told me they would get someone out within 2 hours. In about 30 minutes, Kyle showed up and set about locating the leak. He had to remove the toilet in the master bath to get to the wall at the supply line. When he cut open the wall, he found a pinhole in the copper pipe. He needed to open a small hole in the opposite wall to get to a point where he could install a new section of pipe. He called in a second plumber, Jason, to assist in fishing the new section of pipe and make the final connections. It took a bit over 2 hours in all to complete the repair and get the water back on. The amount charged was quite reasonable for the combined time we had them working at our house. Roto-Rooter will follow up with water damage testing and remediation service to address the water still in the wall and I will report on that in a separate.review for that service. In all, I couldn't be more pleased with the remarkably quick response and superior work.

RotoRooter made clear in the estimate that they wouldn't be responsible for any damage to landscaping or our brick driveway. That estimate was way beyond my budget, so I told them I'd get other bids and get back to Roto-Rooter. The next day I called CPR Drain Clean who came out within the hour. They used their auger and camera to patiently drill all the way to the city sewer line in the middle of my driveway. They charged $277.! Needless to say, I gave the workers great tips. It's frightening to think I could have paid RotoRooter such a huge amount. I really can't imagine how that business is run to exploit people that way.
Description of Work: I wanted my drainline cleaned out because it hadn't been done in at least a year, but I didn't want any back-up over the winter holidays when I'll be having houseguests. RotoRooter cleaned out the inside drains, as requested, but discovered roots in the pipes outside the house. Because they couldn't get any further, they had their camera man come out. That man, Dennis, gave me an estimate of $4,660 to excavate to discover the nature of the blockage. To actually open the drain couldn't be determined until the excavation was completed, but it would be in the neighborhood of another $10,000.

They snaked the drain from the street and got about 17 ft. (of a 90 ft. drain) when they hit a collapse. What about the rest of the drain? Well, there's no way to get to the rest of the drain to snake it so we don't know. $279 for 17 ft. ! I was also stupid enough to spend another $100 for a camera. Same results. I was given an estimate of$4300 to install a new drain. Called a different company and got an estimate of $1300. Also, this company's fee to snake a drain is $160. To their credit, Roto-rotor did tell me they were the most expensive company in this business. I completely agree. I suggest a lot of questuons and due diligence before having work done.

They came in, snaked the drain, ran a camera down the drain. They found the blockage ok but wanted twice as much as anybody else to dig up and replace a section of the drain. Then when they gave me the estimate they wanted me to sign it.. The way the wording was in the estimate it looked like I was authorizing the work. When I refused to sign the estimate the tried to give me a hard time about not signing it. I will never call them again. The only reason we called them was it was late and we needed it done.

Ray came out the NEXT day to come and take care of this for me. There were 4 drains in the master bathroom that needed to be done. Ray was on time, respectful, pleasant and most of all completely professional. He really did a great job and I will definitely be using this company again (and specifically asking for him) for any of my plumbing or drain cleaning needs. Nothing is better than the peace of mind that something is done right and at a fair price.

Arranged for technician to come to house to examine toilet in downstairs bath. The toilet was working fine some days; stopping up on others. We thought there might be an object caught in the drain. Roto-Rooter uses a flat rate for billing. Technician quoted a price for the augering and explained there would be an extra cost if we pulled the drain. The augering seemed to fix the problem, but my husband insisted that the toilet be pulled. Nothing was in the toilet. When the technician began to put the toilet back, he discovered that the flange was completely rusted and falling apart. He quoted another price for replacing the flange and did so with our authorization. The technician claimed that the pipe in the toilet has too small of a diameter for "heavy" use, and suggested that that particular toilet be used only for urination. The reason I won't use this company again is because I think there prices are set too high. Also, they will not quote over the phone. Technician was professional, friendly and performed his work neatly. He cleaned up any mess that was made. Also, he said normally there would be a travel charge for going to the store to buy parts (flange), but he wouldn't charge for the travel. Labor costs for pulling the toilet (after the auger charge) and replacing the flange were almost identical.

I have (and continue to have) a problem with water seeping in from around the foundation of my house. I mistakenly attributed the source of the water in the basement to an old drain hole originally constructed to handle the condensate from a now nonexistent central air conditioning unit. I called Roto Rooter to have someone solve what I initially assumed to be backflow from this drain. Eric Spruill Tech #939 arrived within 1 hour of my call. He methodically examined the problem areas and even helped me get rid of some of the standing water. We discussed several possible sources of the water and concluded that the water was probably not coming from drain backup, but rather from a leak outside the foundation of the house. I agreed to allow him to snake out the drain in the hopes that it would, at the very least, serve as an exit point for the water. Eric agreed that if he was not able to solve the problem, he would not charge me for the service call. He worked well over an hour, and unfortunately concluded that the hole was not a traditional drain that was connected to a sewage line, but a hole that simply terminated into the gravel around the foundation of the 1970's house. As promised, he charged me nothing for all of his hard work. I feel guilty for not paying something but I will definitely hire him again for any other job that comes up!

John from Roto Rooter came out on Monday morning to try can inspect my backed up sewer line with a camera, but it was so clogged he couldn't get more than 20 feet out from the basement. He explained that a section of the pipe would have to be replaced, a clean out installed and the line jetted in order to inspect the pipe. He scheduled an emergency repair for Wednesday morning and apologized that two of my fences leading into the yard would have to come down and for the inconvenience. Everyone that came out that morning was punctual and friendly and joked about the large amount of river rocks that were being dug up. After the excavation crew and the inspector left, Jerry and John arrived to jet out the line and inspect with the camera. They stuck with it even though it took much longer and much more water than expected. Their persistence and optimism were appreciated. I also appreciated their patience in answering all of the questions that my tenant and I asked and the explanations provided as to what was happening and what we were seeing on the camera. Although they eventually were able to clear out the line and found no obstructions, they did find a large section under my garage that was sunken and will need to be replaced. But instead of trying to sell me on doing that right away, John told me that I could wait on that and just to keep the line clear and to make sure nothing goes down the drain that shouldn't. Even though I was not prepared to spend that kind of money and don't know if it was a fair price for what I got, I'm happy with the result and that it was done so quickly.

I called Roto Rooter on Saturday after sewage backed up into my basement, and was able to schedule a service call for the next day. I called back twice over the weekend to reschedule due to being out of town and was even able to reschedule an appointment 2 hours after I called the last time. Even though the window was four hours, Eric arrived right away and got to work. Unfortunately he was unable to snake out the clog and took his time explaining why not and that I would not be charged for that visit, which was going to be $388. He explained that the next step was scheduling a supervisor to come out with a camera to try and diagnose the problem. He was able to schedule that for the next morning and billed me $109, which came to $69 after I used a $40 coupon. John arrived during the schedule window and explained what he was going to do. Unfortunately there was too much water and sludge or mud for the camera to go very far and there was nothing see. He let me feel the resistance of the camera, so I would know that he couldn't do anymore with that. He explained the next step, which involves excavation, replacing the section past where the camera was stuck, and flushing out the line to see if that works. He called it in as an emergency with the city to get me scheduled in two days since the plumbing can't be used at all. I don't really have time to get estimates, but I do feel that Eric and John were both upfront and honest. My mom is in the sewer inspection business and not only is not surprised about the turn of events since i live in an old house in an even older neighborhood, but said Roto Rooter is a good company.I definitely trust my mom's advise and opinions. I'm just hoping the next step is the final step. It's costing me $5,060 and my fingers are crossed.
Description of Work: The goal was to snake out the main line which had backed up into the basement. Unfortunately whatever was causing the stoppage could not be removed by a snake. The next step was a camera, but that didn't work due the thickness of the clog.

Roto-rooter's service was spectacular. They responded quickly, performed a professional inspection and gave me the results I needed! Their service was a big relief. As I've used many trades for home improvements and maintenance, I've had the MOST difficulty with plumbers and their schedules. Our home has all of the gutters tied into underground drain lines. The gutters drained but were very challenged when it rained heavily. I contacted several gutter companies and was put on their waiting list for three weeks. That was unacceptable. I called Roto-rooter and they came IMMEDIATELY. I was given a two hour window; not your usual I will be there sometime that day schedule. The technician was very knowledgeable. I had my own thoughts on the problem but he made his own analysis. He walked the property, said the gutter did not drain to the street curb and then started to unclog the drain lines. We heard an immediate "swoosh" of debris being unclogged from one of the underground lines. It ends up the gutters all drained to a large pipe that fed into a nearby sewer. He removed the sewer cover and showed me. After unclogging the drains, he ran hoses into the gutters and filled them with water. We walked to the open sewer and saw the results- large volumes of water draining into the sewer from our gutter. I was so happy with the quick and effective results.

Roto-Rooter was very prompt. Someone came out to give us an estimate before the workmen arrived. They had to do water mitigation in our basement that was caused by an overflowing condensation pump on the air conditioner. They came and used a vacuum to pick up all the water, then put fans and dehumidifiers down there for two days to make sure all was dried up. Where ever there was a chance for mold to grow, they treated the area with an anti-bacterial spray. We were very pleased with the results and would recommend them to anyone who has water problems.

Late at night, the toilet suddenly stopped filling, or it filled very slowly. The next morning we scheduled service online for between 1:00 and 3:00. A customer service rep called right at 3:00 to say all the service technicians were still on earlier assignments, but she would call again as soon as one becomes available. About twenty minutes after that she called to say Kyle is on his way. I think he's been here before. He was very polite and personable, easy to talk to, and explained what the problem was and what he was doing to fix it and what the different parts were for. I had a lot of questions and he was patient in answering them. He even talked to a visitor at our house about his plumbing problems. After a quick trip to the store for a part, everything was back in order, we thought, but after testing it a few times, it failed again. Then he spent a few minutes to figure out if there was something else wrong besides the fill valve (he though it might be the threaded-iron pipe in the wall, in which case he'd have to return the next day). But after all, it was only some hard water mineral buildup that had gotten loose from the old part and found its way into the new one. So he declared it defective, and replaced it with another new one he had on the truck. He also said we were using more water than we had to and showed me how to make an adjustment on the fill valve to control how much water the tank would fill with. He stated how much the repair, labor and parts, would be right after he got here and looked at it. He left his card and said to call him back if there are any further problems with it. There is a six month guarantee. Now after three days I'm sure it is going to be fine. I very much appreciate how quickly Roto Rooter is able to send out a plumber. We've called on them many times before and they're always so helpful.

Worst experience ever. Your company clearly saw a young couple they thought they could take advantage of. I have contacted a manager and expect a full refund.
Description of Work: We called to have a clogged yard trap snaked. They couldn't accomplish this at first so they called a "supervisor"The "supervisor came out to run a camera but brought no supplies to start to fix the clog and had to call a tech. The tech.came out and seemed to be getting somewhere until the "supervisor"came out to check on things. This is when things got fishy and they seemed to stop trying to fix issue and started to push an excavation. We were not buying it...it just didn't feel right. We called Mr. Rooter who came out an hour later with a nifty hose and 15 minutes later the clog was fixed. I will tell everyone I know never to use you.
