+ 3 moreStaff was very professional Would have taken shorter time but the city water company couldn't find the outside water shutoff valve until they were done with the project. The technician had to cut and plug the water line while it was still on. He wass soaked but still got the job done on the second day.
Description of Work: Cleaned out drain, discovered the sewer pipe outside had collapsed and they had to dig up the front yard and replace a section of the sewer line and a cleanout

+ -1 moreNever again will I call Roto Rooter. Terrible, terrible service.
Description of Work: The service call was two years ago and the terrible service still bothers me. The plumber came on a Sunday night so I knew we would pay a premium. He wanted to rework all the plumbing around our expansion tank when all we needed was to replace the expansion tank. He charged me $300 to put a band aid on the problem. I called a different company the next morning and they fixed the issue for under $150. I will never call Roto Rooter. I called them the next day and explained that I knew that I would have to pay a premium for the Sunday night service call, but what bothered me was that the plumber wanted to rework the plumbing lines which was not needed. Their comment to me was that they could tell that I was upset and that they knew that they lost a customer for life, but I was out of luck.

+ -1 moreI called in the morning and the plumber was there by 2:00pm. He tried clearing the drains with a cable, but was unable to get through the bend where the corrosion was. I was given a quote for replacement of the bad pipes and asked if I wanted this done. When I stated that it needed to be done 2 or 3 more plumbers arrived and completed the job. These men worked until midnight to finish the job. They also checked that everything was working correctly and ended up charging only about half of the original estimate. All of the workers were professional and pleasant and were considerate of my dog. They took the time to clean up all the areas where they had worked.
Description of Work: Checked slow running drains in sinks and shower. The problem turned out to be corroded pipes leading to the main stack. They replaced corroded pipes and part of the stack to bring the plumbing up to code.

George was friendly and professional. Everything was cleaned up when he was done and I am pleased with the work.

+ -1 moreThe tech did a great job and was very professional in cleaning out the drain. The main issue I had was the two "managers" that arrived and scoped the drain. I felt like I was talking to two used car sales men who were trying to scare me into buying additional services. The other issue was that I wanted to have a quote on the phone for the cost to clean out and they would not provide me one. It turns out the entire plumbing industry in Columbus does not provide quotes over the phone but provide a free quote in person. My issue with this is that I have to take time off work to get a quote and if I do not like it then I need to take time off for a second company to provide a quote.

+ -1 moreThe tech was very courteous, friendly and professional. They came out promptly. They have 24 hour service and the ad says no extra charge. The issue was the price is unreasonable and by then he had already taken it apart. I paid $600.00 for a new drain in the shower. I am going to contact the Better Business Bureau.

+ -1 moreThe person from Roto-Rooter decided that the only way to fix my problem was to remove one or more toilets and snake the drains through them. I told him that I wanted a second opinion and he left angry. On Monday, I reached Drain Connection, which promptly sent a man to look over the problem. He quickly determined that the problem was the lift station wasn't working and the drain was fine. He thought it might be the lift station motor, but before he got far with that theory, he plugged the lift station into a different outlet and it took off working. Now I need to get an electrician to repair the outlet, but I'm glad I didn't let the Roto-Rooter man start tearing out toilets for nothing.
Description of Work: I had water backing up in my basement when I ran the washer and shower. The man from Roto Rooter looked all around for a place to snake the main line drain. He insisted on walking and looking all around my garage and lower basement, even though I told him that there wasn't any water in those places. He bugged me. He said no plumber could fix the drain that I had.

+ -1 moreJovon was very determined and methodical in finding my leak. Unfortunately he couldn't fix it though as it was the dishwasher itself and not some kind of pipe. He then attacked my slow drains. I'm not sure they've ever drained this quickly! Unfortunately I had to call back the next day as the level that let's you fill the tub wouldn't allow it to fill. Major bummer!
Description of Work: Ended up identifying that my dishwasher was the leaky culprit and snaked out 5 lines.

+ 1 morePart of the work was great, some wasn’t. They were able to clear the line in the house. They thought the issue was outside the house. They brought in a supervisor and used a device to show me where the blockage was outside. They were about 20 feet off of where the sewer pipe was. I had another company come out and they were able to properly diagnose the problem. I would not use Roto-Rooter because they wanted to charge $12,000 for dig up my front yard. The city came to show me where the line actually was. The work they actually did was fine, which reflects in the grades.
