Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

My toilet backed up on Saturday morning and the sink in the kitchen directly below the toilet back up and was clogged as well. I called another company and was told that because it was a weekend, there was a 100 dollar additional charge and the company also insisted on me giving them my credit card. Needless to say, I called Roto-Rooter 3825 Paragon Drive, Columbus Oh and Eric Technician number 1334 came right away and fixed the problem. He was friendly, efficient and finished the job quickly. Eric was personable, cleaned the area, provided a bottle of Roto-Rooter pipe shield to keep the pipes free from sludge. He explained how to use the product. I am completely satisfied with the service that was provided. The cost was a little high and it would have been great had i known that there was a $40 off coupon but all in all great job!

Jared Moser was on time and courteous. He diagnosed the problem and quoted me a price. I thought the price was a little high at first but we only have one bathroom and I needed it fixed right away so the price was worth it to me. Jared unclogged the drain, cleaned up afterward and waited to make sure there weren't any leaks in the pipes. I would call Roto- Rooter again in a heart beat.

All went well and they finished the jobs in about an hour.

I am so glad we called Rotor-Rooter. I was hesitant to call them because we usually prefer to give business to local providers. But when we had sewage back up in our basement on a Saturday evening, I had a hard time getting a hold of someone, not to mention the high weekend/evening rate some were charging. I immediately reached a live, friendly and professional person (Amber) at Rotor-Rooter who offered to send a technician to us late on a very cold Saturday night at no extra charge. We opted for next am service. Our technician (Donovan), showed up on time, and got right to work. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. He figured out the problem, dealt easily with the odd plumbing in our old house, and got us unclogged in no time. We were very happy with his service. The price we paid seemed very fair for the work that was done. I would not hesitate to call them again. Thank you Donovan and Roto- Rooter for making an unpleasant situation so much easier!

That was a very horrible experience. I even went on Angie's list looking to see if they are on there so I could give a review because about how it was screwed up. They had to send people three times. Some of the people arrived and did not have the part they were supposed to have or they came and did half the job and left. It was a nightmare. They just gave us a discount because I was so upset with them. It was just the fact that it took so long. The main guy came out and figure out what was wrong so he said that the people would be coming to fix it the next day that he had to order a part for them all that stuff and then when the people came the next day they were completely incompetent that they didn't have the part. They left them at the office. I had to call and talk to the manager to deal with the next crew who were sent out and didn't know what they were coming to do about completing the job then they didn't have me sign any paper work when they were finally done. I asked them I said are you not giving me to sign anything or invoice and they are like no and then the next day I got from the billing department. I had to explain to them your people didn't give me anything to sign and even asked so at that point I told the women that they were going to have to provide us with a discount or I was going to do the better business bureau. They eventually got the job done I did not end up having to go somewhere else and they did give us a discount just apologized for all of the stuff and the manager even like the original guy that I have been working with came out the first time he actually came back to my house to double check to make sure everything was fixed correctly since there has been so many problems and he was very apologetic. That guy seemed to be really trying but they were other people that were incompetent or else weren't been given the correct information when they were sent to the job site. They were a lot more expensive than I thought they were going to be. Between the two different crews that came out the fact that they left without telling me and they claimed that they left my house because they did not know I was home. I had greeted them and talked with the them about the work they were going to do and gone back inside. They would have seen me leave so they knew I was home between that and the lady from the billing department calling me up and getting mad that I had not signed paper work and all that stuff. Neither crew showed up when they were supposed to.

I called Roto Rooter on Monday morning, and a technician was at my house working on a backed up main drain within an hour. The technician was timely, responsive, courteous, knowledgeable and solved our plumbing problem faster than we anticipated. Further, we were able to add 4 additional drain cleanings for only $150, total for additional drains. The service included a video scope, which will be performed later this week in addition to a large supply of an anti-bacterial drain cleaning produce that we can use monthly for maintenance purposes. They were fast, they were nice, and they solved the problem ..... we won't hesitate to call Roto Rooter agin if we have an additional problem.

I called Rotor Rooter on Saturday around 1:00 pm and they were out at my house by 2:30. Quick to respond is their best quality and there is no extra weekend rates.

The first one, they did all the work. Then they had to come out on warranty work because the faucet that they replaced was leaking. The guy was fantastic. I will absolutely not use them again.

Very old faucet that had developed a leak. I knew there was no way I could get it apart. RR originally planned to replace it, but couldn't get it loose. They were able to get it apart and rebuild it. They did the same for the other faucet of the pair.

Sump pump in our Gahanna home failed early Sunday morning on a very rainy weekend. Called the plumber who installed it only to learn they don't provide emergency weekend service. Called Roto-Rooter and they sent a technician out early Sunday afternoon. He replaced sump pump and monitored to ensure it was working properly.

Was able to get someone to the house same day within a two hour time window. Was here on time and provided the services quickly and efficiently with a 6 month guarantee.

Our plumber, Bruce Campbell (tech number 2583) was professional, prompt, and knowledgable. Bruce was able to quickly clear the toilet drain and explained the probable source of the problem clearly. That he came near midnight on a Friday night was greatly appreciated.

I called Tuesday Morning because our sewer drain backed up in our basement. A coupon is offered but would not print for me, but they honored it . They were at my house less than a hour. Went over all possible problems (flushing wipes/feminine products) I signed paper work & began the work right away. My problem was fixed FAST. I thank them for sending a very negligible professional (Shawn) who made the experience excellent.

That was expensive so I dislike that. They responded on a Sunday right away. It was great. They're good.

The technician (# 2320) was superb. We could not find where the blockage in the underground rainwater drainage system was despite running the snake in two directions. Finally the technician found a "hidden" drain outlet grown over with roots and ground cover - completely blocked. Once that was cleared, water flowed freely. We were very impressed that the technician did not give up and spent over 2 hours finding and fixing the problem. He deserves a medal! Setting up the appointment was a breeze and the response in sending someone out was also great. The technician showed up on time and the call indicating his arrival was timely as well. We had calls in to other companies, and still have not heard back from them - and the job is done.

Work was done in just over an hour. Shawn was professional, clean and effecient. Highly recommed.

I had scheduled the service online the night before to have Roto-Rooter come out between 11AM-1PM. At noon the dispatcher called me to say that the plumber was running a little behind,that he should be coming within the hour, and that she would be calling back to tell me when he would be headed my way. About an hour later, the dispatcher called back to say the plumber was on his way. When the plumber, Roy(Ray?) arrived I showed him where the washer was and told him the issue. He explained to me what he was going to do. I thought that it was nice that he chose to go thru my back gate and into thru the back door to the house instead of going straight into the laundry room thru the garage door. This was to prevent him from tracking any potential dirt/debris thru the house. The job was performed in a timely manner and he cleaned up the area after he was done. I have always liked using Roto-Rooter because of their prompt service, good work, and courteous plumbers.

I called them earlier in the day to unclog a toilet and they were able to come later that day. The technician came at the early end of the 2 hr window. He was pleasant and efficient. The situation was resolved in just a few minutes. The only issue I have was price. It was $199 for something that only takes a few minutes to fix. Now granted, given the situation at hand, I was more than willing to pay. But I wish they had different pay levels depending on how complicated the unclogging process actually is.

Repair guy was here within the hour tho I said it wasn't urgent. Was very courteous and cleaned up as he went, as well as explaining what he was doing an why. Six month warranty for work.

Unbelievable. The window for arrival to give an estimate was 9 to 11am. At 10:30, I hadn't received the call-ahead, so we called. The dispatcher said he was running late. Eleven came and went with no contact. Finally at 11:45, he shows up. I told him exactly what I wanted him to quote because I have five other estimates already and I wanted to have an apples-to-apples comparison. After 35 minutes preparing the estimate (yes, 35 minutes!), he returned with the number of $4900 written on the quote paper with a line through it. Then he happily told me he would be willing to do the job for only $4000. HOLY COW! As I mentioned, I have five other quotes for this work. The NEXT HIGHEST is $1450. Roto Rooter's estimate was almost THREE TIMES HIGHER than our second highest estimate. I have no idea how these people get business. I encourage anyone considering Roto Rooter to make certain that you get at least one other estimate so that you know if you're getting a fair quote. Obviously, this company is not getting my business now or any time in the future.

John Gleason, Tech 1482, arrived as promised. Described the service that needed to be perofrmed. Completed the service within specified time; and detailed the extent of the service. John cleaned all areas that he worked in during the process and was extremely corteous nd professional. I felt comfortable with him in my home and I would highly recoommend his services.......Extremely satisfied with the results, costs, and service.....

The plumber arrived as scheduled, I was informed earlier that he was on his way and would there in 30 minutes or less. The plumber came in, introduced himself to me, and asked what the problem was with the sink. He then examined the sink and told me what he thought the problem was. He then gave me an estimate and then proceded to do his job. He laid out his tools on a drop cloth and started to unplug the drain. When he finished, he explained what he did and what what he ran into. He then put the drain back together, and clean off the pipes. He then tested the system several times, checked for leaks, and told me how to keep the drains flowing and clean. He then cleaned up his area and took his tools back to his vehicle. He came back in and then explained again about the care of the drains and pipes, he was very courteous and patient with me when I asked questions. I was completed satisfied with the plumber (Ray) and the service.

They were great. The price didn't seem out of line.

A couple of weeks ago, the toilet in the upstairs bath threatened to flood the floor. Roto-Rooter came out and augered it for $199.00. The toilet worked and the technician left. That evening we experienced more problems, so the man returned the next day and augered the toilet again. The toilet worked. There was no charge for the 2nd visit because it fell within the one week guarantee. The technician said if he had to return he would pull the toilet for an additional $100.00. Two weeks later the toilet began to act up again. The guarantee had run out by then, so we were quoted a price of $300.00 to pull the toilet. This time a different technician worked on the problem. He augered the toilet, then we discussed whether or not it really had to come off the floor. The man agreed to talk with my husband on the phone who requested we pulled the toilet. A pen was found to be caught in the toilet. It was removed and the toilet works. The technicians were friendly, punctual, and courteous. However, I couldn't tell if the 2nd technician's reluctance to pull the toilet was because he was trying to save us money, or if he just didn't want to pull the toilet. I also felt that some kind of a price cut would have been appropriate. True, the guarantee had run out and technically didn't have to be honored, but the 3rd visit was a continuation of the same problem. I would recommend this company with reservations. I have no complaints of the work performed: the men were very careful not to make or leave a mess, and they obviously were skilled at what they do. I'm not happy with the pricing, however. It should be mentioned that when I called to arrange for the 3rd visit, I asked the woman what that visit would cost. She said prices would be quoted by the plumber on site. This puts the customer in an awkward position. In retrospect, I should have insisted on talking with a manager before scheduling the 3rd visit.

Man showed up looking unkept. Now I know he's a plumber, but someone can at least adjust his shirt, comb his hair and he basically stunk to high heavens. Placed shoe covers on After he was in kitchen, didn't even bother to look under sink, just asked if I had my coupon & gave me his estimate of services before even turning on water. When I questioned him & stated price was $100.00 over the last time I had used their services over a year ago, he just said "Price goes up". I frankly told him I couldn't afford to pay that to unclog a drain. I then called his office & spoke to the manager & he wasn't helpful. Just wasn't concerned on how the serviceman presented himself or the cost. I had a coupon for $40.00. I told him I had been a customer in the past. & explained that the price he gave me was the price they had quoted me approx 2 yrs ago to do the WHOLE house. Told him I wouldn't ever use his services again.
