This customer did not elaborate on the issues she had regarding her spa. So we will attempt to explain. [Member Name Removed] purchased a stainless steel tiled custom spa and equipment. It is one of the most expensive systems that we carry, and they are manufactured to order. We install and set the spa into a "prepared" site ( by a contractor hired by the customer). The customer would then have the electric installed. We try to reinforce with the site landscapers the requirements ahead of time as to what is needed. In this installation the electrician did not follow the proper procedure for wiring which caused issues. The site that housed the equipment was also later found to not be properly draining which also caused issues after the fact. We did work with the homeowner and the landscaper to finally take care of the problems.

Description of Work: New motor was needed - they even tried to daignose over the phone to avoid unneeded service call. Their labor fee was better than others. They also were easy to work with - available. Then I went to their shop and they helped explain how to take care of the tub. I trust these guys.

It was a pretty expensive job, but they did a really good job and it was pretty involved. I would recommend them. I am very pleased with their services. It was a lot more money than I had hoped to spend. There was a gal Brenda Becky that serviced for hot tubs and her name was listed and she was complimented. She was the one that they sent out to work on my tub. I told her that they were saying complimentary stuff. They did a very good job for us so couldn't complain. It's worked fine since. There were some other parts that had failed on it that wasn't their fault. They would have been even more costly if they had to buy new parts and they disconnected those. They did some research and went the extra mile trying to figure out if there were some other options, but it would have been more economical to have fixed those components. I told her that it wasn't operating for a year and I said that if I hadn't missed it till now, I didn't care. It was some ozonizer. I wasn't sure if it worked and how it worked anyway. She tried to figure out if she could replace a piece of it that she could replace and they couldn’t. They really tried to make it economical for the repair, so I appreciated that. It was more money than I wanted to pay out, but I had no comparison to know. I really think they were trying to be reasonable. They were very good about punctuality and professionalism. She was neat about herself. She was very conscientious and very polite. I would hire them in the future and I would recommend them.
Description of Work: Rainbow Hot Tubs & Spas repaired one of the pumps that worked the hot tub.

I like the fact that its a family-owned business. The husband and wife both work in the store. This was our first hot tub, and they were extremely patient with us. They took the time to explain everything, and are still willing to answer all my questions. Their workers were efficient and hard-working. They were very fairly priced. Absolutely fantastic all around! The people they recommended for the electrical work were amazing, too.

They didn’t need to come out because they knew over the phone what my problem was so we went over there to get a bottle of cleaner. We used it and it worked so I didn’t have them come out. I didn’t cost very much. They were very helpful.

Brenda was great! They made an appointment 2 days after I called, came out for the initial inspection, then came back with the pump a few days later. I filled up the hot tub and watched it for a few days, and the leak appears to be fixed, but when I tried to run the pumps, the power wasn't working, so she came back and it turned out to just be a circuit breaker that needed to be reset. I moved into this house with the hot tub not running and no owner's manual so she showed me the basics of the inside of the hot tub, and how to check the fuses, and checked my filters. She even repaired part of the deck surrounding the hot tub that had become unscrewed and loose.
Description of Work: They came out to inspect a leak in my hot tub, then replaced a pump (which was around $250) and a hose. They came back a third time a week later to figure out why the power wasn't turning on.

Badly. I left there that day feeling very confident in Lisa and Rick because they really seemed to know their stuff. But then I waited 2 weeks for the filters, and when they came in they were not the correct size for my spa. So then I did a search online and within 1 minute I had found filters with the exact same model number for cheaper. I went ahead and ordered them online and had them within 3 days (and they were correct). When I tried to return the filters they took them back, but Lisa gave me a hard time about it because I had supposedly given her the measurements. What's the deal there? I could understand if it was old and discontinued and I refused to bring in the filter, but if they were really concerned they should have just said that I should come back with filter in hand! And seriously, if it is quicker, cheaper, and more accurate to order it online, why bother with the brick and mortar store?
Description of Work: I asked them to order a new filter for my spa. I was at the store, but they needed more info so Lisa called my wife at home and talked to her for about 15 minutes trying to get the correct measurements. Then they ordered 2 of the filters.

BRENDA WAS VERY COMPETENT AND PROFESSIONAL WHEN SHE CAME OUT TO FIX OUR HOT TUB. SHE DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM QUICKLY AND HAD THE SUPPLIES SHE NEEDED ON THE TRUCK. WE APPRECIATED THAT SHE WAS ABLE TO GET A 16 YEAR OLD HOT TUB RUNNING AGAIN AND DID NOT TRY TO SELL US A NEW ONE. ALTHOUGH SHE DID WARN US THAT OUR TIME WITH THIS HOT TUB IS SOMEWHAT LIMITED. WE ALSO GOT A LOT OF INFORMATION AT THE STORE ABOUT HOW TO PROPERLY USE THE CHEMICALS WHICH WAS HELPFUL SINCE WE ARE NEW HOT TUB OWNERS.

I ENDED UP NOT FEELING VERY CONFIDENT THAT THE COMPANY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. AT THE END OF THE DAY, WE SPENT $349 AND THE SPA WAS STILL NOT FUNCTIONING. THE OTHER COMPANY WE SUBSEQUENTLY USED KNEW IMMEDIATELY WHAT THE TOPSIDE CONTROL PROBLEM WAS AND CORRECTED IT (FOR $120). RAINBOW WAS PUNCTUAL WHEN THEY NOTIFIED US THEY WERE COMING TO THE HOUSE. IT WAS, HOWEVER, DIFFICULT TO PIN THEM DOWN IN ADVANCE FOR A SERVICE APPOINTMENT TIME.
Description of Work: THE COMPANY HAD ORIGINALLY WINTERIZED A SPA IN A HOME THAT WE NEWLY PURCHASED. WE CONTACTED THEM TO DE-WINTERIZE THE SPA AND EXPLAIN ITS CARE & MAINTENANCE TO US. THE WINTERIZED SPA HAD ICE IN IT WHEN OPENED. AS A RESULT, I NEEDED TO PURCHASE A CERAMIC HEATER FROM THE COMPANY TO THAW THE SPA. WHEN STARTING THE SPA UP, THE TOPSIDE CONTROL DID NOT WORK. THE COMPANY'S EMPLOYEE LEFT WITH THE CONTROL INOPERATIVE AND WE DID NOT HEAR BACK FROM THE COMPANY UNTIL WE CALLED THEM. WE HIRED ANOTHER COMPANY TO LOOK AT THE SPA AND THEY DETERMINED THAT SOMEONE HAD UNPLUGGED THE TOPSIDE CONTROLS. WHEN PLUGGED BACK IN, THE CONTROLS WORKED FINE. (SINCE RAINBOW HAD WINTERIZED THE SPA, MY GUESS IS THAT ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES INADVERTENTLY UNPLUGGED THE CONTROL.)
