Quality Air Heating and Air Conditioning

Fan on my furnace was making alot of noise. Called Quality, who had installed the furnace 8 years ago. Technician came out on 12/8, looked at for less than 10 minutes and said I needed a new motor. He charged me $90 for a service call and said he'd check with the shop if one was in stock. He said the service department would call me that day to set up an appointment to install it (tomorrow if in stock, or later if they had to order it). I asked about the Angies List discount referenced in their company bio and he said he didn't know anything about it but I could ask when the service department called. I didn't receive any call the rest of the day so I called Quality at 4:45. It's message states its office hours are 7:30am to 5pm. Despite calling at 4:45, Quality had already rolled-over its phone system to its answer service. I asked to be contacted about whether installation could be done tomorrow. I received a call back and after 3 different calls an appointment was set for today (12/9) and the price quoted at $475 for the motor and $22.50 for each 15 minutes of labor. Today I was called and told the quote was wrong and (thankfully) the motor was actually $373. The technicians arrived on time and immediately began to install the new motor. The installation took less than 10 minutes, but after it was installed the burner wouldn't light. The technicians performed a number of tests which determined the air flow from the motor was not right. After an additional 25 minutes, the technician realized he did not install the restrictor plate on the motor before he put it in. So he had to take another 10 minutes to take it out, install the small restrictor washer, and re-install it. Total time was about 45 minutes. I was charged 30 minutes of labor, which was less than they were there for but more than was required to put in the motor in the first place. The extra time was to find the error they made and correct it. Finally, I asked about the Angie's List discount. I was told that Robin says "We are no longer with Angies List" and Quality doesn't give an Angie's List discount. Overall, I'd probably recommend using another contractor. It wasn't a horrible experience,so I gave it a "C", but the poor communication, the installation mistake and lying on its company listing about an Angie's List discount make me question the company's professionalism.

They have been to our house with different reps to try to fix this problem. They are trying to fix the problem, but this has been going on for practically five months. It is a Carrier performance 93 problem. The quality of the equipment is poor. I called them to get problem the corrected and all they sent was a bill. I still am not satisfied and as far as I am concerned I have a piece of junk in my basement.

They worked within my time constraints and were able to diagnose and fix the problem.

Very well. Third time is the charm after I bombed out on 2 earlier providers. Ray has been great. Prompt, educational and good. He has caught and fixed problems 2 other companies said did not exist.

They showed up on time, they knew what they were doing and they cleaned up there mess. They were quick and they came when they said they were going to. The person who came to the house to do the work came and explained everything on what they were going to do. They were honest.

They where very friendly when they come over and do the work for me. They are very professional about the job. They always show up on time to do the work.

We noticed over the weekend that the fan to the furnace was continuously running and the air was not quite warm. I called Quality Air first thing Monday morning and a technician was scheduled to come between 9am-11am. The office called when the technician was on the way. Charlie was professional and friendly, providing some advise regarding closing off vents and filter types.

Satisfactory. Bob Willis, who estimated the job, seemed very knowledgeable and made suggestions to ensure effective heating & cooling. The installer Rick and his supervisor Steve walked through and worked with us on placement of the ducts to avoid too many soffits and chases. Very much appreciated that. As for the installation, the installers were a bit inconsistent on follow-through. One week they did not show up at all. This did not cause a significant delay, but communication on the delay was not good. Also, was billed for entire job before it was completed, contrary to contract. But when pointed out, they accepted the partial payment called for in the contract.

As always excellent service and trustworthy contractors. Sean came to diagnose the problem. He ordered the part and replaced the faulty unit, without charge, at my convenience. He did a great job of explaining how the new unit worked and cleaned up when he was finished.

Our technician really worked hard, so we did not have to the expensive route!

We've used them for years for service. They came right out and have all their products in stock, which is convenient. They did good work.

When I first called I asked if they were on Angie's List and they did not know. After I received the bill they charged me full price, I called and asked if I would receive a discount since I was a member and they said yes. I let them know I was a member and asked if they would give a discount at that time, but they said it was too late. The work done was okay.

The company was very helpful, responded quickly. I had used them and recommended them to others in the past. The quote given was high due to a different approach. (They installed equipment in a previous house and were the low bidder and did a fine job.) I would recommend them even though I did not choose them this time.

They do good work, they come every year to check things out.

They were out within 2 days. The gentleman was very nice that came out. Except the fact that he tried to charge me for something that I did not need.

Both servicemen were very courteous

Came out to assess nonfunctioning A/C unit quickly and with friendly service; however, obtaining replacement parts seemed to be slow. Easy to work with respect to Homegard Warranty.

Plain and simple. Needed a new a/c and this was the company. It was recommened by me but the work was done for a friend. Her comments were they were a great company. The Asian gentleman by the name of Ba is outstanding. He never stops for breaks or anything until the job is finished.

I HAVE BEEN USING THIS COMPANY SINCE MOVING INTO MY HOME THREE YEARS AGO. I HAVE BI-ANNUAL SERVICE TO MY HVAC UNIT (SPRING AND FALL). IT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AT TIMES.

WE CALLED QUALITY AIR, SINCE MANY OF MY RELATIVES HAD USED THEM. A LEAK WAS DETECTED IN OUR FURNACE. QUALITY AIR CAME RIGHT OUT AND GAVE US AN ESTIMATE. THEY SHOWED US ALL THE OPTIONS, AND EXPLAINED THE DIFFERENCE. THEY LET US MAKE THE DECISION WITH NO PRESSURE. THEY WERE ABLE TO INSTALL THE FURNACE, WITHIN 2 DAYS OF US MAKING A DECISION. DURING THE INSTALLATION, THEY LOST THE DOOR TO OUR OLD AIR CLEANER. SINCE THEY COULDN'T GET A NEW ONE TO FIT, THEY PUT IN AN ENTIRELY NEW AIR CLEANER AT NO CHARGE. THEY WERE VERY PROMPT, AND COMPLETED THE JOB QUICKLY.

WE HAVE USED THE COMPANY SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST AND COMPARE TO OTHER HEATING COMPANIES FIND THEM ONE OF THE BEST. ESPECIALY IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS. VERY PLEASED WITH THE OVERALL SERVICE.

I GOT A WHOLE NEW FURNACE FOR THE COST OF INSTALLATION AND DUCT WORK. HAVE USED HIM FOR ABOUT 30 YRS. STEVE IS A GREAT GUY.

QUALITY AIR CAME OUT TO LOOK AT MY FURNACE, BECAUSE THE A/C COIL WAS LEAKING WATER INTO THE FURNACE THIS COST ME $60. I WAS TRYING TO MAKE A REPAIR VS REPLACE ASSESSMENT SO I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH A SALESPERSON. WHEN THE SALESPERSON CAME OUT HIS ASSESSMENT ON WHAT REALLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED OR FIXED WAS NOT CONSISTENT WITH WHAT THEIR TECHNICIAN SAID. THIS CONCERNED ME. WHEN THEY DID GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE ON A NEW FURNACE AND AIR CONDITIONER, THEY PUSHED ME TOWARD HIGH END CARRIER PRODUCTS WITH REBATES. IN THE END WE CHOOSE TO REPLACE THE FURNACE AND AIR CONDITIONER USING ANOTHER COMPANY.
