Precision Overhead Garage Door Service

The guy was nice. They came out on a Sunday to do the repair, because we couldn't leave the door unsecured because there is access to our home from the garage. They were prompt and quick.

They did a good job. I thought they were a little pricey. I would hire them again.

One night, I returned home to find that the garage door wouldn't open. I found the chain off of the track with some broken pieces on the floor of the garage. Having used Precision Door in the past and been extremely happy with the service, I checked that their record on Angies List since it's been a few years. I called them first thing the next morning and left a message. I got a return call within minutes. I explained the problem and the woman said they could send someone out between 10 a.m. and noon. The service tech arrived around 11:15 and gave me a quote for the repair that would cost about $200. Since the door is extremely noisy when opened and the house shakes, I asked about replacement options with a larger opener unit. Given various factors, we decided to replace rather than repair. The service tech said he knew they had a couple of units on another truck and to give him an hour to track one down and he'd be back. He was back within the hour as promised and installed the new opener and a new keypad for outside in a short amount of time. The door is so quiet, it's barely noticeable when it opens and the house doesn't shake anymore.

I called regarding a replacement for a broken remote control unit. The person on the phone was very helpful, explaining that my unit was no longer available but system could be upgraded with a new transmitter. I said I would like work to be done on a particular day about two weeks later. They placed order for parts right away and called when units arrived. They came as scheduled and completed the work in about 1/2 hour.

They were very friendly when they were here working for us. They were very professional about the job. They had showed up on time to do the work for us.

they gave us a life time warranty. they were always on time. he came within 2 hours of me calling. they cleaned up after themselves. They were very professional and they don't charge extra for coming on a weekend.

I feel I was misinformed throughout the process (both) I am not sure that the roller replacement was necessary. The problem is still present after both visits. There was added fuel surplus charge that they added to the bill as well that they did not inform me of prior to doing the work. The second visit they stated the roller replacement had nothing to do with the first repair (even though the same type of adjustment was made) The adjustment was the same as what the first tech performed during the original visit.

They called to let us know they would be here earlier than planned, which was good. They were courteous and we would recommend them.

The technician missed the appointment time (was late), but when he arrived, he was very prompt and fix the problem with the garage door quickly. I am satisfied with the service he provided.

This included transmitter and key-less entry.

He knew what he was doing. He allowed me to watch and he answered my questions as well. I called them in the morning on a Saturday and they told me they would be there after lunch and they showed as promised.

They did not inform us that the garage door system has TWO parts--the doors and the operating system--and should the other part of our system fail, then we were SOL because our garage door opening system, STANLEY, is no longer being produced. The overhaul was a waste of money because if the operating system failed, it was not under warranty. The overhaul was done January 14, 06. On October 16, 07, our Stanley door opening system failed. Because we had a "lifetime warranty" on the work that Precision had performed, we called to see if they could come out to fix it. That is when we were informed that the work performed before had nothing to do with the operating system and that we could purchase a new door opening system for $500 more. So basically we would have to pay them $1200 total to have an operating garage door.

Good. They did a nice job in a timely manner.

They were able to get out the day I called them even though it was July 3 and other places I contacted were closed that day. The rollers and hinges have a lifetime warranty. Tom was very friendly, courteous, and professional. He was finishing up just as a major storm hit and had a long drive back to his house. I appreciated their overall timeliness because I was unable to leave the house because the garage door was half-way open and off the track.

I believe they took advantage of our desperation and sold us a package we did not need and charged us an outrageous price for it.

Mark arrived within one hour of our calling and was able to order our new door, parts and opener. Within a week, we had our new garage door installed and all remnants of the old door hauled away. Mark was very prompt and efficient. No evidence of my driving my Volkswagen into the old door was left! Hallelujah!!!

OUTSTANDING! I called on Friday at 3 to ask some questions and check about scheduling. They sent a technician within 1 hour! Mark Jackson was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. He would have been able to just repair my rollers. When I told him about noise issues, he suggested that I replace the metal rollers with nylon rollers. This made it much quieter. He didn't try to pressure me to buy anything (e.g., door seals). Instead, adjusted the door to fix the seal and said that they were OK. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company.

My garage door spring broke on a Saturday afternoon. I couldn't lift the door. The person I spoke to said someone would be out between 2 and 4 and they were. The door was fixed quickly and the gentleman tested it several times with my garage door opener. I recommend Precision highly.

I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO CALL THEM IN THE FUTURE.

After new door was installed, when the door opened it was 10 times louder than before. They attempted to reduce the noise level, but failed. After checking additional prices, their door was over 50% higher priced than comparable doors.

HE INSTALLED NEW SPRINGS. I THINK HE DID A GOOD JOB.

I PLACED A CALL TO THEIR ANSWERING MACHINE ON THURSDAY NIGHT, AND THEY CALLED BACK FIRST THING ON FRIDAY TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT. MANY APPOINTMENT OPTIONS WERE GIVEN FOR FRIDAY. THE WORKMAN SHOWED UP AT THE APPOINTED TIME. I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT THE NEW CABLE THAT THEY HAD WAS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE CABLE THAT BROKE, HOWEVER THAT WAS DUE TO IT BEING TWICE AS THICK, AND STRONG AS THE ONE THAT BROKE. THIS ALSO MEANT THAT THE DRUMS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE THICKER CABLE COULD NOT WIND EFFECTIVELY ON THE SMALLER DRUM. HE WORKED VERY QUICKLY, AND CLEANED UP THE AREA WHEN HE WAS DONE.

WE HAVE USED PRECISION DOOR FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS BOTH AT OUR OLD RESIDENCE AND AT OUR NEW RESIDENCE. WE RECENTLY HAD A SPRING GO BAD IN OUR DOUBLE GARAGE DOOR. THEY HAD BEEN OUT PREVIOUSLY TO REPLACE THE OPENER AND WE HAD DECIDED TO NOT HAVE ADDITIONAL WORK DONE AT THAT TIME. WHILE THEY WERE OUT TO REPLACE THE BROKEN SPRING, WE DECIDED TO GO AHEAD AND REPLACE THE OTHER SPRING SINCE WE THOUGHT IT WOULD PROBABLY GO NEXT AND ALSO THE SPRING ON OUR SINGLE GARAGE DOOR. PRECISION GAVE US A DISCOUNT ON THE OTHER TWO. EACH TIME WE HAVE USED THEM, THE TECHNICIAN HAS TAKEN TIME TO EXPLAIN WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS. NO HIGH PRESSURE SALES THOUGH. MOST OF THEIR WORK OFFERS A LIFETIME WARRANTY BECAUSE THEY USE QUALITY PARTS, WHICH IS WHY THEIR PRICES MAY BE HIGHER. PRECISION IS ALWAYS ON TIME AND THEY DON'T CHARGE EXTRA FOR WEEKENDS. ANYTIME WE HAVE CALLED THEM, THEY WERE ABLE TO COME OUT THE SAME DAY.

I GOT A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THE SPRINGS.
