Description of Work: To be clear, my positive feedback is based on my experience with Portillo at the early estimate-providing stage. Having not hired them in the end I cannot comment on any finished work done for me. However: after receiving estimates from multiple providers who I found capable and worth hiring I had to choose. Although I did not end up hiring Portillo’s General Service I wanted to leave a review based on my interaction with Renee. I would certainly invite an estimate from him again for future projects. If you are looking to get estimates for your own project I definitely think it is worth asking Portillo for one. Renee was very responsive. He was both candid and supportive in discussing my bathroom tile project and had great ideas about how to proceed. His estimate for the cost of the job was very competitive, and he provided me with lots of images of similar with he’d completed for other customers. These images were strong evidence of careful work and the finished projects looked great. My impression of Renee from our interactions is that he is honest, fair, skilled and conscientious. There are other subcontractors who have been unresponsive, or who have responded in ways that make me doubt their overall conscientiousness (their concern to do a great job for every customer and to communicate with customers in ways that make them feel informed and at ease). I wouldn’t ask these providers again for an estimate on any future renovations but I am keeping Renee’s contact information in a safe place because I’d call him back again without reservation.
