The man that came out seemed very knowledgeable and was courteous. He answered all of my questions and was very up front with me. He never tried to sell me anything I did not need. Of the 3 or 4 companies I had come out Phillips left the best impression and if I need any work done I will call them.

Ryan Phillips came out after hours, at our convenience, to quote basement wall I-beams. We requested the glass block window estimate at the same time. The work was completed very quickly and professionally.

Ryan Phillips came out at our convenience after hours to estimate the job. He was VERY knowledgeable about older homes and basement waterproofing. He even educated us on the built-in waterproofing system (floating basement floor) in our current home (not the home he was estimating). The work completed was very solid and appears to be a quality job. It was also completed within two weeks as requested, when other companies would have scheduled it 3-4 weeks out. Our only complaint was the workers trampled tops of plants which were just growing 2-4" out of the ground, in their hurry to and from the water spigot; and we are trying to prepare the house to sell, so the plants are pretty important this year. But in their defense, we were requested the rush service, so they may have been in a big hurry.

Ryan was pleasant and very professional. He took time to find out what my needs were and even recommended that I hold off on any work until I'm ready to finish the basement. He still provided me with an estimate of $7,410, which I felt was very reasonable. Since his visit, I've since decided to have the work done, because I'd simply be delaying the inevitable. I decided to go with another ''A'' rated Angie's list contractor who will perform all necessary work for the same price as Phillips, but installing adjustable steel beams that can actually straighten my walls over time. Bruce contacted me to see if I've made a decision and after informing him of my decision, he lightly attempted to dissuade me from using adjustable beams, citing ''horror stories'' and the possibility of having a weaker foundation than with non-adjustable beams. I'd rather try the adjustable beams than not try them and wonder what if. Despite my decision I'd definitely recommend Phillips for services.

He told me all the things that I needed done to fix the problem I was having, but that I did not need his services immediately. He was very nice and helpful.

Mr. Phillips came out and said, honestly, for the little bit of water I had; he did not think waterproofing was worth it. He gave me a quote of $5810 for the entire basement or about $3000 for just the one wall and drains. He suggested I work on grading, getting a higher powered dehumidifier, and add fans to circulate air to the dehumidifier. I have since had grading done and new drains on one side the house, and that helped.

Ryan was VERY honest in his assessment of my wall and offered up plenty of advice to do some "preventative" things on the outside of my house. Although the crack in the wall is not an immediate issue, he recommended a few things to do to prevent it from becoming one. He tested my sump lines and drain lines from the house to ensure it was performing well. Not once was I pressured into anything and I never felt like I was being sold a service I didn't need. Ryan and the others at Phillip's are a pleasure to deal with. If I ever have problems with my basement, I will be calling them for sure.

I was given a window of about an hour and a half, because they had another appointment in the area shortly before mine. Ryan called me to let me know he was headed over, and arrived within the time specified. I showed him the areas we were concerned about, and after looking it over, he advised me that the issues were cosmetic in nature and that structurally it was fine and had already been addressed, explaining and showing me how. He told me what we could do to address the cosmetic issues ourselves, and what we could do to avoid the problem in the future. He also told me how we could keep the price down in a practical manner. In addition, Ryan was very pleasant and polite. If we should have any need for basement work in the future, I will absolutely call Phillips Basement Waterproofing, and would not hesitate to refer friends and family as well.

We were very impressed with the punctuality, cleanliness, and professionalism of their work. They put down floor cover so no dirt was tracked in the house. The finished wall was professional looking, and the price was comparable to other companies. Their warranty is transferable.

This company is fabulous. Not only did I get the best estimate by far (I got four estimates), but Ryan Phillips, the estimator/representative, was very honest, helpful and forthright about a process I knew little about. He and his crew, Andy and Louis, made suggestions as to easy but helpful things I could do to improve the air quality in the basement. All the work was done exactly as indicated, on time and for a great price! I was always kept informed as to what they were doing and why. Everyone was very professional and courteous. The finished work is beautiful! The glass block was sub-contracted to First Choice Glass Block, who also did a spectacular job making and installing made-to-measure windows as none of my windows were a standard size. Both companies worked beautifully in tandem with each other and the work was complete in three days. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

I would have them back again and I think they did a good job.

This was several thousand dollars cheaper than other companies. They were very organized and very clean. I can not say enough good things about them. They were here and had things cover, there was no dust. I was truly amazed. It is a father and son business. I would highly recommend them to anyone that has a water problem in your basement. They really know what they are doing and they don't try to rip you off. I am really impressed with them, they are truly professional.

Mr. Phillips arrived on time, and spent at least an hour discussing our prolem and our options. Early on it was clear that we were not going to need his particular services, but he spent time with us anyway giving us the benefit of his knowledge and advice. We would definately contact this company again if in need of their waterproofing sevices.

Ryan, Carol and Bruce (and their crew) were a pleasure to work with. Good information without the HIGH pressure used car-sales tactics that most of their competitors used. They gave an honest appraisal and recommended we do less work then they could have (and their competition recommended). Once the contract was signed it took a while to get them in (as of course we waited until the busy part of the season to schedule, our bad!); but once they arrived they were so quick and efficient they really could have completed all of the work in one day; amazing! They hung up dust barriers and cleaned up very well after themselves. They accidentally damaged a sink in our basement, I called and the next day they were out first thing in the morning and they fixed the problem with no costs or hassle. I would recommend Phillips to ANYONE; our basement now pumps out water 5 times more then our neighbors next door; that's how efficient Phillips work is! A++

Great!! They diagnosed and repaired our primary problem but did not recommend highly expensive accompanying remedy as did another Angie's List company; instead suggested inexpensive alternatives we could do ourselves. They were a pleasure to work with.

Ryan was such a sweet guy. Very laid back and personable. He, like the other companies, suggested working on the outside of the house first: having gutter and drains replaced and the paver patio redone (it sloped toward the house and foundation). He was honest and not ''salesy''. We appreciated his honesty and information. Would contact this company again if the outside solutions do not work to take care of the water issues.

Ryan came out and inspected our foundation. He told us that our 80 year old brick foundation was in excellent condition and that water buildup in the window wells was not abnormal. He suggested replacing window vents with glass block. He explained how drainage worked in our house. As this house is new to us, we didn't know what prior work had been done. Jason said that a basement floor drain system had been installed that this system was installed correctly and working correctly. He put my mind at ease. He said that we didn't need his services. No charge. We very much appreciate his knowledge and honesty.

RYAN PHILLIPS ARRIVED ON TIME FOR THE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. HE WAS VERY THOROUGH AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. WE DECIDED TO GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY BECAUSE I FELT THAT AFTER INTERVIEWING MANY COMPANIES FOR THE JOB, THE ONE I SELECTED OFFERED MORE SERVICES FOR THE MONEY SPENT. I DO, HOWEVER, FEEL THAT PHILLIPS IS A GOOD COMPANY AND TRUST THEM TO PERFORM WORK IN THE FUTURE IF NEEDED.

THESE GUYS WERE GOOD, QUICK, AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY WERE ALSO FAR LESS EXPENSIVE THEN THE BASEMENT GURU'S THAT WANTED TO CHARGE ME AND ARM AND A LEG.

MR. PHILLIPS CAME OUT AND GAVE A COMPLETE INSPECTION. HE GAVE ME ESTIMATES, HOWEVER, RECOMMENDED REPAIR OF DOWNSPOUTS AND FILLING IN AROUND BASEMENT. HE FELT THIS MIGHT SOLVE THE PROBLEM, OF BASEMENT LEAKS WITHOUT COSTING A MAJOR EXPENSE. DUE TO THEIR HONESTY AND PROFESSIONALISM, I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.

THEY ALSO DRILLED A HOLE FOR PROPER DRAINAGE INTO OUR SUMP PUMP. HE HAD QUITE A LARGE CREW. AFTER THEY WERE FINISHED, I HAD A QUESTION ABOUT A WET SPOT AND THEY CAME RIGHT OUT AND ANSWERED MY QUESTION!

THE COMPANY WAS GREAT. BRIAN PHILLIPS CAME OVER THE WEEKEND BEFORE THEY STARTED TO WALK THROUGH THE JOB AGAIN WITH US AND ANSWER ANY ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS WE HAD. THEY WERE VERY NEAT, ON TIME AND EFFICIENT. THEY ALSO HAD THE BEST PRICE OUT OF THE FOUR COMPANIES WE RECEIVED QUOTES FROM.

GOOD WORK FOR A GOOD PRICE. EXCELLENT FINISHING OF CONCRETE. NEAT AND POLITE WORKERS. RESEEDED LAWN WHERE THEY TRENCHED. REMOVED AND REINSTALLED ONE GLASS BLOCK WINDOW FOR ACCESS TO WORK AREA.

RYAN PHILLIPS WAS EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL AND ON TIME. HE TOOK HIS TIME TO CHECK OUT THE PROBLEM (WATER COMING INTO THE CRAWLSPACE IN THE BASEMENT). HE CONTINUED TO CHECK THE PROBLEM EVEN AFTER IT WAS CLEAR THAT THE SOLUTION WOULD NOT NEED THEIR SERVICES.

RYAN PHILLIPS CAME OUT TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE. HE STATED THAT I DID NOT NEED A SUMP PUMP OR WATERPROOFING SYSTEM BECAUSE THERE IS NO WATER IN MY BASEMENT AND ALSO GAVE ME ADVICE ON HOW TO KEEP THE BASEMENT DRY. ADVISED TO GET A DEHUMIDIFIER OR TO USE PULVERIZED CLAY AROUND MY HOME. ALSO TO KEEP THE WINDOWS CLOSED DOWNSTAIRS CLOSED DURING HUMID WEATHER.
