Description of Work: First, the salesman did not measure the ceiling height and assumed 8' (actual height 7'6"). The design he came up with was excellent. The cabinets ordered, when installed didn't allow room for the electrical face plates so they had to be re-installed 3" higher. They look OK but should have been a smaller size. When we asked for new trim to replace the crown molding that could no longer be used, we were told it would be an additional charge. We refused to pay more since it was not an add-on but an error on their part and I installed some myself. | |About 3 weeks after the installation a water joint that was not properly soldered came loose. Fortunately, it was in an unfinished part of the basement and I only had to remove some insulation. I did not call them for this repair since I needed to use the sink so I repaired it myself. If I had a better experience with the trim, I would have called for the water repair but I felt they would have tried to charge me for that repair. | |The salesman also led us to believe (by not responding to the contrary) that the job would start right after the first of the year. I demoed my kitchen and was ready to go when the owners finally contacted us to say the job would not begin until after 1/31. To their credit they set us up with a temporary sink until the construction started. | |There was one of the sub-contractors who did the ceiling stippling that was excellent and that part of the job was great. | |I had problems with an under-counter light that appeared to not work right but only after the electrician left. They came out twice to try to fix the situation but could not find the problem. I discovered later that the light box they tied into was on the same switch that turned on the lights in the finished part of the basement. I moved the tie in to an outlet not on the switch and the light works fine. | |Although the things I did myself were minor in scope, I should not have had to do them at all. Quality work would have caught these items. | |

+ 1 moreJeff (owner of Reds) came out to see what we wanted to accomplish and made helpful suggestions. He provided timely estimates which were revised several times as we increased the scope of the project. Shortly after we accepted an estimate, the project manager assigned to our project left Reds. Despite this, the project begain on schedule. There were some snafus with wrong shower door being sent from manufacturer. This was not immediately caught until after installed. This may have been caught earlier if the project manager had been on site. There was some difficulty in finding shower doors with the correct finish, but Jeff stayed on top of this until he was able to locate doors which satisfied us. As the project proceded there were some minor issues which needed to be corrected, these were handled promptly as we reported them. Some towel bars that we ordered ourselves did not arrive until a few days after the rest of the work was completed. Jeff promptly sent a member of his crew back to install those for us. Crew was very courteous, professional and kept work area cleaned up. Overall Jeff is very responsive to issues and stays on top of things. The issues encountered were minor and possibly would have been avoided entirely if the project manager hadn't left just as the project was about to start. We are very satisfied with the end result of two refinished bathrooms.
Description of Work: For two bathrooms, removed one piece shower/bath fixtures and sink and countertops. Replaced all of these with granite replacements. Replaced vinyl floors in both bathrooms. Replaced one swinging door with sliding pocket door. Replaced two towel racks.

+ -1 moreThe job went very well. I have more than enough pantry space now. Kathy was able to adapt the style of the two narrower spaces in the pantry to a pull out style which is wonderful. Kathy is a consummate professional who pays very close attention to detail in creating the job. She has done other closets for me before, but I think this is the very best one yet. After she finished the measurements her installer came and did them to spec. I LOVE it.
Description of Work: I did a complete renovation of my kitchen. I hired Space Transitions because I wanted a specialized pantry in place of an old fashioned closet pantry. Kathy came and did measurements to my specifications. She then worked with her contractor to install the pantry. I have worked with Kathy many times before. She knows how to listen to your needs. Great job!

+ -1 moreThey enlarged the opening explaining what they would be doing and why.The installation went great and even having to put up with the dog did not slow them down.They arrived on time everyday and completed the work on time.The doors look great and the fit and finish is excellent.The crew kept the mess to a minimum and always cleaned the work area as they went.Kudos to Chuck,Josh and Greg for their excellent work.I highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: French Doors Installed.This was not a simple installation due to the rough opening being too tall and narrow.Jeff gave us a complete estimate of the cost for material and labor, start and completion date.Jeff gave us options and answered all of our questions.

+ 1 moreThis was not the first work he has done for us but it was certainly the largest. His business has grown to the extent that he is not able to personally be on every job site at all times. He has,however, hired employees that hold to the same high standard of excellence that he does. The entire process was a very pleasant experience and far exceeded our occupancy expectations. When the project started we were figuring it would be sometime after the first of the years before it was finished. They broke ground on the 29th of September and the suite was finished the last week of November. Just two months from start to finish. As I said it was a very positive experience. The crews were always punctual and worked steadily throughout each day. When they were ready to cut through the wall in the living room they first erected a wall of plastic sheeting and as one man was cutting another man was evacuating the dust with a shop vac. The job site was always kept neat and orderly and at the end of each day the trash and debris was cleaned up and transported off site. We have future projects in mind such as remodeling our kitchen and Jeff and his crew will definitely be doing the work.
Description of Work: Jeff's crew recently finished adding a first floor master suite to our home. The suite is 900 plus square feet including a large bedroom, two large walk-in closets, and a large shower. There are french doors leading from the living room into the suite. At his suggestion we included features from the Americans With Disabilities Act to allow for any future needs. These features included 36 inch wide doors, 36 inch high vanity, high rise toilet, and handicap grab rails. The bedroom area has a vaulted ceiling while the rest of the suite has standard 8 foot ceilings.

However, I just wanted to get some initial idea regarding the cost before I got the job done. The owner was very thorough and he was a good guy to work with. Description of Work: They removed my old tile and drywall on my backsplash, installed new drywall, then installed stone on my wall. They gave suggestions on ways to install the tile. They replaced the stove hood, even though they weren't required to do so, and they cleaned everything.

+ 0 moreOur master closet was a mess. The U shaped white rubber coated shelf provided such a dysfunctional way of hanging and storing our clothes. Not only did it become difficult to use, it was a major eye sore. The closet door was shut at all times. I called several closet designers in the Columbus area and settled on Kathy Morgan of Space Transitions for the following reasons. Her closet designs are custom made. She was not trying to fit pre-made design units into this closet. She really understood what we wanted and needed. She was awesome to work with. She and her team were always punctual. Her installer was top notched. Great guy. The materials she uses are attractive and functional. Her price was very reasonable. The finished product is out of this world! It looks so good and is so functional that I don?t want to put the closet door back up.

What impressed me the most about Kathy was her expertise, professionalism, as well as her understanding of what we needed. She made recommendations, and didn't pressure us like some other companies did in signing the final contract. Kathy was pleasant, knowledgeable, patient, and understanding. The gentleman Shawn who repaired our drywall was very courteous as well, and always came on time. I will definitely go back to Space Transitions again, and will recommend those who have had negative experience with the other closet companies to start using Space Transitions.

I had a small space and she was able to get more storage out of that small space in ways I never would have been able to come up on my own. She did the design on the first day she was here, the installation went smoothly and it was perfect. I am very picky, but there was nothing that was unsatisfactory about her work.

He always called at my request to let me know when he'd be there. He was always on time, and had the type of personality that put me at ease. He was very knowledgable and was always able to answer all of my questions. They really listened to your needs and were very concerned that your needs were met. I was just blown away.
Description of Work: They put in a shelving/organizing unit. I got a designer to come in and do a room for me. I worked directly with this company rather than through the designer. They did a great job. They provided several designs for me to choose from, and worked with me to pick out a final design to meet my expections for the space. It really wasn't an easy challenge.

+ -1 moreThey started on the exact date that Jeff had promised and finished on the exact date that he had estimated. They were very thorough and professional. In several cases they went above and beyond what our contract called for in an effort to make the process as easy as possible for us. it is no easy task because everything has to be boxed up as if moving except you don't move. You have to move things from room to room to facilate their doing the next room. They were very considerate of our problems in finding space for everything to be moved to. This is the second job that they have done for us and we will absolutely be using them for any future projects. In fact, we are considering adding a first floor master sweet and if we decide to move on the project Jeff will be the one doing it if he has the time for such a big project. Extremely satisfied.
Description of Work: Jeff and his assistant removed all carpet and pads from ours four living areas in our downstairs and replaced it with Bamboo flooring.
