Mr. Mover of Ohio Inc

They are really good. I’ve moved all over the world being with the military and this is the first moving company that I used. They are really trained and professional packers and movers. They didn’t break anything. They were very efficient. My folks would normally take 2 days in the government side to pack us up and move us but they did it on one day both packed us, moved us and unpacked us because we were moving across town. They are just a really good professional company. Most of the people that were moving with them have been with them for years. They were the best price. We had shopped around for several ones and they were top notch. They came out and did a personal survey. They wouldn’t give you a quote until they came out and saw you. They gave me an accurate quote. They did not overshoot the estimate. They were right on the money. They are the best I’ve seen.

The move went well. The movers arrived on time, worked quickly, unloaded the furniture where I wanted it, and assembled the bed. I was very pleased with the care and how quickly the team worked.

First, I had an estimate performed 10 days before our scheduled move and the salesperson called his office to make sure they put us on the schedule. They were to arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 on the morning of the move so when they weren't there by 9:00, I called and spoke to Judy, she said they had no record of us being scheduled to move that day but she would look into it. She called me back a few minutes later and was very kind to get a larger crew and more trucks together than we originally thought necessary and did eventually find that our estimate had just not been flagged in their system. The crew of 4 men and 2 trucks arrived a little after 12:00. They did place protector to cover the carpet on the steps and cardboard on our wood floor in the entry but not one piece of furniture was covered with a furniture pad or shrink wrap as was described to me during my in home estimate. Less than 45 minutes after arriving the crew took their first of two 10-15 minute smoke breaks, which would have been fine, except for that fact that they were already 4 hours behind schedule due to the scheduling mistake and the fact that I was paying them by the hour. The move took 4 hours and we only had one small scratch in a dresser, so the guys were careful with the furniture. I was impressed that they were able to get a larger crew to accomodate my move but was dissapointed with the scheduling mistake and the fact that they didn't protect my furniture as they said they would. For those reasons, I will not be using Mr. Mover again when we move in 7 months.

We used Mr. Mover to move from an almost 4,000 sq ft home to a home that is less than 1,000 sq ft. Because of a flat tire on a truck the movers were late, and then the truck was too big for our road. The response of the company to our frustration with the delay and incorrect truck being sent was quick and satisfactory. We could not have asked for better compensation for the inconvenience. We thought that since we were getting such a great deal on the move that the moving company would not be as professional and wouldn?t care as much about the job. We were wrong. The men who showed up were polite, professional, hard-working and friendly. They frequently checked with me and my husband to make sure they were moving the correct items and to make sure they were all on the same page. With five movers, it would have been easy to miscommunicate, but these men worked as a team to accomplish the job quickly. The moving crew was very careful not to scratch walls or floors, and they protected each piece of furniture (even the stuff that clearly wasn?t very valuable or nice). We will certainly use Mr. Mover again and will highly recommend this company to our friends and family. It is easy to find a moving company that will give you the best value for your money, but this company has proven that when they make a mistake, they will make it right. If I could give them an A+, I would.

They were very good when they helped us move into our new home. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.

They came and looked around our house to get the information needed to perform the moving estimate. However we never received the estimate.

99.9% of this review is on the positive side. These people picked up a bed in Hilliard, picked up more furniture in Powell, unloaded the Hilliard/Powell furniture in Marion, loaded more furniture, and brought it back to Powell. The two gentlemen were friendly, hard working, and seemed to really care about the safety and condition of the furniture they were handling. The only negative to this project was that I was quoted a price of between $375-$400 and learned the final bill to be $660. Apparently, the person doing the initial quoting didn't do enough homework to quote a more accurate price. I've used this company before and always have had great success with them. Just be cautious with the quote.

Mr. Mover made my recent move as stress-free as possible. Terry, the owner of the company, came to my home and gave me a not-to-exceed estimate. His quote compared favorably to the other two I got and his competitive quote, combined with my positive impression of his experience and the fact that they were able to guarantee a load and delivery date, convinced me to book Mr. Mover for our move. From the beginning, the experience was seamless. Every time I called the office, an actual human being (!) - usually Judy - answered and was able to give me clear and helpful answers to my questions. The day before our move, Jeff and Pam came out to our house and did inventory. They were nice and efficient and their efforts saved us lots of time the next day. The crew that moved us out - Chris, Greg, John, and crew leader Aaron - were awesome: friendly, careful, fast, and hard-working. They came right on time and their efforts allowed us to get on the road to our new home even earlier than we'd expected. Things went great with the delivery too. Aaron and Becky were joined by Skip and Keith and they got us moved into our new home quickly and with great attitudes. They went above and beyond, helping my husband set up his office furniture just so. I've worked with several professional moving companies over the years and I can say without hesitation that Mr. Mover was far and away the best of the bunch. The thing that really set them apart was the confidence they instilled from the outset that everything would go smoothly. Not having to worry about anything made a stressful process that much easier.

It was a near perfect experience. Not one thing was damaged and they were wonderful to work with.

From time of quote by Terry Judd to truck pulling away from our new home, everything was on time and as promised. The cost given at time of quote was exactly what we paid. The men who did the work were professional, they wasted no time and made sure our possessions we well cared for during loading and when secured to truck. At time of delivery, we found nothing broken or damaged. As with loading, the men arrived and went right to the job at hand. They made sure our furniture was placed where we wished and put together as needed. They left no mess, took great care to not scrape or damage walls as things were moved into home. They made sure, at every step of way, that things were just as we wanted it. Mr Mover also offers a wonderful box program where we use the boxes we need, and return those in good condition for a net small usage fee per box and an understood cost per box used and not returned. That was a great help, plus they gave us the number and type of boxes we need (no way would we have known that if we were just buying boxes). We cannot rate them high enough. This was our first move in almost 36 years so to have Mr Mover take charge was a great benefit for us. Mr Mover first tells you what he will do, then what it will cost and when they are done that is exactly what took place. Unique for the moving and storage business!

Careful, chatty, prompt, great communication throughout e.g. scheduling and confirmations.

The move could not have been better! Moving can be such a stressful experience, and Mr. Mover removed as much stress as possible from the event. The packers were excellent. Judy packed my kitchen as if she were going to unpack it....very sensibly and logically. Garrett, our driver, was terrific, as was Ken, who joined him on the trip to South Carolina. They were extremely conscientious with our belongings and very mindful not to cause damage to the home we left or the one to which we just moved. I cannot recommend Mr. Mover more highly, and I encourage anyone anticipating a move in the central OH area to give them a call.

What a great experience! Mr. Judd came to our apartment two weeks prior to the move and gave us an estimate. Mr. Judd informed us that the cost would not exceed the estimate which was great because every penny is needed when moving. On the day of the move, the movers arrived promptly at 8 am. Jeremy and Chris were the best! They moved everything smoothly and carried several boxes down at once. They are super strong men!!! The men were done by 11 am and every box was in placed in the proper room. Our price ended up being almost two hundred less tham our estimate!! My husband and I could not be happier! Thanks for the great experience!

I called Mr. Mover for an estimate. Terry came to our house and provided a do-not-exceed quote, separately for both packing and moving. The rates were competitive. Ahead of the move, they dropped off a bunch of boxes for us if we wanted to pack ahead. On packing day, one day before the actual move, two men came. One of them was smoking outside just before he started working for the day. Unfortunately, my wife is extremely allergic to smoke, even third-hand. As a result, i asked the men to not proceed. As you can imagine, this is an extremely stressful situation. I cannot have the men pack. What should i do? I called the office and Judy, who was extremely gracious and professional, told me that she will arrange a non-smoking crew within an hour. They will come to pack and then move us the next day. She said that this was difficult because most men in this business smoke. Indeed, an hour later Aaron and Angel showed up ready to go. They packed for about four hours and did an excellent job. They were courteous and professional. The next day, they showed up with another person, Alex. All of them did a great job again, taking extra care when loading and unloading the truck. When they got the heavy furniture in our new house, they were extremely careful with both the furniture as well as the walls, floors, bannisters and door frames. A few days later they picked up the boxes and even went back to the old place to pick up some stuff we forgot to load initially. Overall, this was an almost stress-free local move. The crew was great and Judy was wonderful in attending to our special need in a very short time frame. Thanks Mr. mover!

Judy was our contact to set things up and Aaron was the gentleman who moved us. They supplied all of our packing materials and helped us on the last day to get organized and finish our packing. Their price didn't change over two years either which I thought was wonderful!

The owner came to our house and gave us a quote to handle the move which was only three blocks down the street. The actual cost of the move was less than the quote. The crew that handled the move did an excellent job.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this company! We've moved several times in the past due to job transfers and every other experience had many difficulties with the moving companies. So it was such a pleasant surprise to deal with such conscientious, professional movers. Every step of the process was top-notch. After initial contact, Terry, the owner came by and walked through the house to give us an estimate for packing & moving. He carefully looked at everything and gave me an estimate on the spot. He was the only company who was willing to give us a "will not exceed" estimate. Everyone else seemed to want to give us a low estimate and charge us much more as soon as they had our stuff. So, from the very beginning, I had much more trust in Terry for being so upfront with the pricing. His estimate was also much less than what we had anticipated, so that also made us happy. He also gave us guaranteed dates for everything - something else rare to find with moves. The packers came on a Sunday - Jeff, Pam & Tommy. They were so careful with everything and did an efficient job of packing with as little wasted paper, boxes, etc but still making sure our belongings were safe. They were finished in only 4.5 hours! Barrett, the driver, was also there doing the inventory. They were all incredibly respectful and pleasant to have around. The next morning the team arrived to begin loading. Tommy, David & Barrett were fantastic. They work so beautifully as a team. They took such special care with very fragile items such as our 60" TV, computers and other items. They also took lots of precautions to protect our walls, floors, door frames, stair rails, etc. They didn't leave a single mark anywhere. They also finished very early in the day. Move in day also went wonderfully smooth - they placed everything where we wanted it. The final price ended up $600 LESS than the estimate! Very special thanks to such a fantastic moving experience. It couldn't have been more perfect!

We were moving between two houses that were only 1.5 miles apart, but our situation required a great deal of flexibility. First, we needed to move a lot of stuff to storage in order to unclutter the old house, then we had to bring a piece of furniture back so that it could go to auction. Our old house sold more quickly than expected, so the rest of our stuff had to go to storage until the new house was ready to be occupied. Finally, everything was moved from storage to the new house on the day after the New Year holiday. Fortunately, Mr. Mover adapted to all our needs and did so cheerfully. All the crews were super friendly and careful, putting down lots of floor, stair, railing, and carpet protection. Moving can be stressful, but these guys did everything they could to make it almost fun. We are grateful for their help and would recommend them highly. Don't forget the importance of the office staff, who played an important role in communicating with us promptly about the schedule and procedures.

Absolutely no complaints. They made it effortless on my part. I carried maybe one carload of items tey recommended I hand carry (2 large lampshades, a large plant). Barrett walked through the house with me before we departed or new house to see if anything was left that shouldn't and then Garret had me on the truck to make sure everything was unloaded. Alex even helped me unload a wardrobe.

I had several estimates for my move and had a special circumstance: I need to have some of the load stored for a few days while new floors were being installed. Mr Mover's estimate included all levels of insurance which was a great incentive to use them. His movers are all employees and not hired for the job. That makes them very careful with your goods. They also had to use smaller trucks to negotiate my drive-way. This was all done very smoothly and professionally. The only draw-back was they had estimated holding my goods on a truck with no extra charge because they didn't think they would be busy the week I moved. It didn't work out that way but we were able to negotiate.

Both moving experineces were excellent. The crew arrived on time, were very efficient loading and unloading and demonstrated a true mastery of packing the storage unit. When they finished packing one of the units no square inch was wasted, and, it was a work of art. The estimates we received for the move and the amount of additional storage that would be needed for the goods in the condo were accurate. The movers were professional and courteous; they arrived on time and worked efficiently. They were very careful not to damage the homes and took care to protect the floors, walls and staircase in the new home. The crew that worked on the first move, from condo to storage on 12/8/12 was comprised of Chris, Dave Schackie, Bobby and Ben. The second move on 12/22/12 was handled by Aaron, Matt, Dave Shackie, and two men named Angel. Both crews were excellent. We did not use all of the services offered by Mr. Mover, but we were extremely satisfied with the moving service and found the ability to purchase boxes for a reasonable price and resell them when the move is completed very convenient. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Miserable experience to be absolutely truthful, I chose them based on their AL awards so what can you do? We are living in Columbus and left 1.5 hours before the movers were supposed to arrive to get to Delaware and shovel the top 1/3 of our driveway and walkway to our porch. That completed, I ran out for a quick errand and the movers had just showed up late when I got there and had already found a way to offend my wife within the first minute. I am told some comments were made about the entire driveway not being shoveled and it was inconvenient that they almost got stuck, my wife was told that was her responsibility to have that done and the other house needs to be shoveled before they get there. It was snowing, only 4-5 inches that night but we shoveled the top 1/3 of the driveway and walkway leading to the porch, my pickup drives over the snow fine, I didnt think a large moving van would have issues and we thought that was plenty of room. Our bad we didnt know but leave the attitude at home especially when you first show up. Moving the stuff out was OK but there was a lot of random miscellaneaous stuff they chose to take and a lot they chose not to take...the selection process for what qualified and what didnt seemed random. Take the mower but leave the bag for the mower (that doesnt fit in a box)...but dont take the weedwacker or fishing rods. The owner who came out for the walk through initially was shown the random crap in the garage that needed to go and he said ti would be no big deal...they couldnt move gas cans, paint, etc, but otherwise there was no mention. They had zero tools to take anything apart, I had to borrow stuff from neighbors because all my tools are at the new house. They would not take our two flat screen TV's because the truck "was too cold". I pressed the issue further and then the story changed to "the way we packed the truck it wouldnt be safe to carry them in the truck" which is the same excuse I got for the glass shelves that came off furniture they already loaded in the truck. We packed the truck wrong? Really? The house in Delaware is still for sale and we have made 3 trips back to pick up scattered debris that belongs to items that were on the truck since the move...just trying to get the house into a condition where someone coming to see the house we moved out wont see the mess. I flew to the new house to get the snow shoveled and upon the guys arriving they knocked a few of the large branches off the tree in the front yard pulling up the moving van...and there was with a guy outside spotting them! He had the wisdom to tell me the tree trimming was free! Awesome!! The move in was fine I guess except for the tree trimming and one of the gentlemen disposing of his Chipotle dinner and Long John Silvers lunch in our upstairs bathroom. Moving the safe to the basement almost killed all three of them and they earned every penny they get paid doing it, the owner should seriously consider looking at where the safe and large items are going BEFORE moving the stuff...I really did think the guys were going to get hurt moving that safe in the basement. Then when the time came to pay no one knew on the moving company side what the estimate was. They guarantee not to exceed the estimated price but they didnt know what it was. I could have been dishonest but I knew the estimated price and shared it, paid the bill over the phone and was done with it all. Overall 2 of the guys were really very nice guys especially the big guy Jeremy who never compained about a single thing but the experince overall was not a good one. Maybe it was us? We have never used a professional mover before and we shared that with the company so maybe our expectations were too high but when we move to the country in a few years we will use someone else. I am sure someone from the company will log on and explain how we screwed up or did something wrong but judge this for yourself
