MILLER RANNEY PLUMBING

Because of the crucial nature of the outage it was important to me to get the problem rectified as soon as possible. I contacted 2 other plumbers before I called Miller-Ranney. One could not provide service until sometime next week and the other offered to do the job today after 4:00PM on overtime. I have had great experiences with both companies in the past but felt I didn't want to wait that long today. One of the companies I contacted recommended Miller-Ranney. I would recommend Miller-Ranney to anyone who wants plumbing work done. I also remain a huge fan of the other two companies particularly since they recommended an alternative plumber when they were unable to provide service within the time table I needed.

He was knowledgeable and helpful. The one thing I disliked was that he had to turn the washing machine on to flush the main line to make sure it was empty. But he didn't wash his hands first, so there was sewage on the handle of the washing machine. It was minor, but I am a clean freak. Otherwise, he was really nice and professional. With regard to price, they came on a weekend emergency call, so the price was higher than what everybody's would be. I think they were a little bit higher than others.

The technician was able to locate the leak in the seal (gasket) where the supply line connected to the underside of the toilet. He was able to replace the seal, and complete repairs within the hour. I would use them again.

Ranney Cantrell Plumbing was professional and punctual. They were honest about the issues and did not just want to put another toilet on a rotting subfloor and have the same problems arise again. I would use them again in the future.

I originally called another plumber first, that appeared towards the top of Angie's List, but they were booked full for the day. I asked if they could recommend another company, and they said to try Miller Ranney Cantrell. I called their office at 10:30am on a Friday. The dispatcher took my info and called back with a time. They had a service man, Brad, here by noon. He finished by 1:00. He emptied out the area beneath the sink, spread a drop cloth on the floor and put a bucket underneath the goose neck when he unscrewed the sink trap, capturing all of the clogged water. The sink trap was loaded with the1-3" ends I had trimmed off of 24 roses. I had ground them up but they turned into a mass of tough, stringy fibers which now were packed solid in the pipe, preventing the water and debris from flushing out of the system. Brad took the trap outside to clean it because it wouldn't just shake loose in the house trash can. He also needed to clear the pipe running from the sink to the trap as it was packed solid with this fiber mass also. After reassembling everything the water flowed fine. He offered to replace the items under the sink, but I told him no, I'd be able to do that. Thanks for coming out so quickly!

Tom Ranney completed the estimate. Bob and Steve from MRC completed the work. Both were very professional and did high quality work. Steps 1-4 were completed in one day. Steve returned to complete the generator hook up after it was installed. We are very pleased. Our gas grill now works properly. The NG generator ran for 2 days after the June 29 wind storm. The gas line rerouting also completed part of the utilities preparation for a basement remodel. I rated a B on scheduling because not all phone calls were returned promptly.

I liked that they came out and did a thorough job, but I did not like their communication skills. I used Miller Ranney under my home warranty. Because of the way the Home Warranty policy is set up, there are certain parts of the job they don't cover. Miller Ranney gave me a huge quote for the entire job, but they didn't know I was using the home warranty to pay the costs. They didn't know what they were suppose to bid on, and it was difficult to talk with them. We needed to figure out what costs were going to be covered, under the warranty. Because I was using the warranty, I didn't do any price comparison. If I had to say yes or no about using Miller Ranney again, I would say yes.

They have always been reliable, professional and honest. They were able to fix issues found within the home inspection quickly so we could move on with the sale.

They are excellent. They come when they are scheduled. The receptionist is very good about working with you in an emergency. They always do great work. I have been using them for 5 or 6 years.

They went over what needed to be done ahead of time so they had the right number of people to do the job. It actually took two. They were done quickly and they cleaned up well after they were done. They are a little bit more knowledgeable than some of the other plumbers. So if you have a job that is a little trickier they have actually been of great help. We actually had something which was not drain cleaning but a pipe that ended up needing to be replaced. They did that and did a great job. It was kind of a mess. There was water in there and they had to cut the pipe specially an old pipe. I did not know and it turned black. The guys that come out have a little more experience overall which is really nice sometimes. The drain was little more complicated than the basic cleaning out the main line situation. We had roots growing which is not uncommon in our neighbourhood as we have lot of nice trees. Price wise I would like them to be little less expensive. I have scheduled them to come out next week.

They did the work quickly and efficiently.

Mark Cantrell came and looked over the bathroom. He discussed options with me, then emailed me a written estimate a few days later. They replaced the sink and toilet and the incoming lines, which were also corroded, and removed the old pieces. The man who did the work spent about six hours on it. He did a good job. I am very pleased with the work and with the price.

They did a great job and didn't leave until everything was fixed. This is the only plumber I use. I have 2 rental properties and they are always on time and do an excellent job. They will call the tenant and schedule the service and I don't have to be there to let them in, etc.

I have a gas line repair plan through Columbia Gas Service Partners. Some leaks were discovered in my basement during an energy audit, so they put Miller Ranney Cantrell in contact with me. I was not expecting a very good experience since this was a warranty claim. Boy was I surprised. They contacted me quickly to arrange a time to do the repairs - so quickly that I didn't know my schedule yet. The woman who called was very nice, patient and worked with me to find a time. The workers were prompt and courteous. Obviously, I was concerned since I had gas leaks in my house, and they answered all of my questions. I had an old gas stove that had a leak, and they didn't have the right size pipes/connectors to fix it. They took care to cut the line to that stove and saved the pipe for me in case I ever wanted to restore it. I was expecting them to come in and do the bare minimum or say most of the repairs were excluded per my warranty plan, but they did an excellent job. I kept their card and will consider them for plumbing needs in the future.

I have been very pleased with them. I have had a couple of guys out, but tend to ask for Greg. He is punctual. He tells you when you really don't need something. He explains what he is doing and it makes sense.

Tom Ranney, Greg and John have been our "family plumbers" for 20 years. They have replaced water heaters, guided us through self repairs in the middle of the night, responded to major and minor catastrophes whenever we needed them. Like the time the water pipe to the outside burst in the basement! Or the water heater that cracked in the middle of the night. Miller-Ranney has done plumbing parts of kitchen remodeling and office renovation as well. Every encounter is professionally, friendly and reasonable.

They are excellent in everything they do. I have been using them for quite a few years and they are satisfactory.
