Lance's Hidden Fencing

We had originally scheduled our fencing to be installed by another provider but after reading all the rave reviews on Angie's List we decided to go with this company. We are very pleased we did. Our experience was positive from beginning to end. We were concerned that our skittish dog might not respond well to this type of fencing. Over the phone they assured us that they would work with our dog until we were successful... and they did. Once the fencing was installed, Lance (the owner) drove all the way from Columbus to Cincinnati three times to do extensive training with our dog. Lance is really good with dogs and he is incredibly patient with the owners too! We had lots of questions and concerns and he took his time to be sure the whole training was successful. He even brought his own highly trained dog with him for one of the sessions to be sure that our dog would not bolt even with a big temptation. It has been a couple of months now and the fence works like a charm. Thanks Lance! You are the best!

Lances? hidden fencing was the best decision I made for my dog in a long time. His service is thorough, his price remarkable and training amazing. There are lots of national electronic fence companies out there, but none can compete with Lance when it comes to caring about you, your yard and your dogs. When I first contacted Lance about installing a fencing system, we were completing a home renovation project. Lance came out to the house and proposed a layout in our yard. He even worked with our asphalt company to ensure that he would be able to run his fencing system under our newly laid driveway. On instillation day, I was encouraged to be present and to observe the process. It is very fascinating! That same day??that SAME day, Lance came out and began training my dog. She probably didn?t even realize she was being trained, she just loved being around Lance. He is an animal lover and it shows. My dog especially enjoyed all the love and treats Lance gave her during the training. He truly did a great job in positive reinforcement. At the end of our session, Lance suggested we schedule one more training just to be sure my dog was ?getting it.? He was very accommodating scheduling-wise and met me at my house (the week of Thanksgiving) to let my dog go through the training one more time. Again, he was wonderful and my dog was very excited to see her new friend, Lance. Lance een brought his own dog with him to assist in the training! Lance just doesn?t install a system and forgets about you, he is there long after the fact too. He has a repair and maintenance program and even gets you discounted batteries when your dog?s collar needs them. He came over at 6:30 in the evening recently in response to our e-mail that the fence wasn't working; he checked and replaced the signal generator, located and professionally repaired a break in the perimeter wiring, and changed out a collar that wasn't working correctly. Lance is by far the best person we have ever had over to work on our place in any capacity. He has no equal.

Great. It is so much easier to enjoy my yard and work in the garden knowing my dog will stay where he belongs.

We found him on Angie's List for the install and training last year. When we contacted him about the repair this year, he sent out his repsentative and he fixed the problem for no charge for us. Everyone there is professional and prompt. We are very happy with the whole arrangement with him and his crew.

Lance is AMAZING! Our dog loved him and so did we. We moved to a neighborhood in Dublin where visible fencing is not allowed. I was very nervous about 1. shocking our dog if she couldn't learn (I can't tolerate seeing an animal in pain) and 2. wasn't sure she would pay attention to being shocked if she happened to see a duck waddling by or another dog. I had heard that German Shepherds tend to ignore the shock going out of the yard and then get scared to come back in. Lance worked 2 hours in the rain with us and our dog that first day. Cayman (our dog - German Shepherd) loved all the attention. Lance let her make her own mistakes and learn on her own, which she quickly did once we got the buzz up to the right factor. We had to play with that for a little while. He took into account things our kids would do, like chase after a ball over the fence line and see if Cayman would run after him too - she learned and stopped before the fence. Lance came back a few times as well to check on her, see how we were doing, gave us handy tips as well! Cayman was super excited to see him - he brought treats too. Now she has full run of the front and back yards, knows her bounds, and we don't worry a bit about letting her out. Don't look anywhere else - Lance is your man.

This guy loves dogs! Highly recommend him. He knows what he's doing, and he knows dogs. They respond to him, and he has genuine concern for their safety and well-being. He's not just a dog person either - he's a people person too. He was happy to answer any questions and explain, and take as much time, and as many visits as necessary to ensure a safe and happy dog. Prior to the installation, Lance asked us questions as to the layout for the fence, and helped us to consider things we may not have otherwise thought of. Lance made at least 3 visits to help train our puppy for the fence. The service doesn't end there. He demonstrated the collar, battery installation, explained battery life, and let us choose from a variety of collar patterns. Just as our pup was about to outgrow her size small collar, we received in the mail from Lance the exact patterns in size medium, right on time, without having asked him. He is a pleasure to work with, and if my dog could talk, I bet she'd agree with me. Very good experience.

After determining that the old system, inherited from a previous owner, had so many breaks that it would be easier and less expensive, they put in a new system. They did pay me to take the old system and applied the angie's list discount. Lance personally came out and trained my dog and me on how to use the fencing. He made it a positive reinforcement experience and not a negative reinforcement treatment. It worked very well and I felt he trained me well, too. I was impressed on how well he did on "The List" and now I know why -- his company was a pleasure to deal with.....

The gentleman who came out did a good job on the fence. Lance came out to train the dogs to stay within the fence. He came out in the freezing winter and had the dogs run out. He was great. My husband has called him a number of times with questions and he's been perfectly satisfied with the answers. He's always able to get a hold of him.

Lance's hidden fence is an outstanding company. Everyone involved from the initial phone call , to the trench guy, to Lance himself coming out to do the training , was very professional. I think Lance could tell that our dog is more of a "child" to us, than a dog. He was very kind & gentle to all of us......including our 7 yr. olds. who wanted to "help." Our dog is doing great ! Anyone can sell you the underground equipment, and "technology".....but, it is the personal training with you & your dog that makes all the difference. And Lance is at the head of the pack with that. He gets a gold star from us !

I emailed Lance's Dog Fencing and got a prompt response back from Natasha who answered all my questions and set us up an appointment as well. Lance came and installed the fence in a quick and efficient manner and trained our puppy all on the same day. The install was neat and clean. Our dog only made two mistakes the day after the install but since then he knows about the fence and does not cross it. On the follow-up appointment Lance checked to ensure our dog was properly trained and did some finishing touches to the wiring in back. He also answered all my questions and provided us with spare batteries for the collar. I would highly recommend Lance's Dog Fencing.

I called Lance after meeting with several other companies. He responded within the hour, we made an appointment and he was prompt and accommodating. His price was great and his personality even better. He came to install the wiring when he said he would. He worked quickly and neatly. He came back several times for training sessions with my dogs and was patient and kind throughout the process. When I had a battery problem, he brought me several new ones, not just the replacement for the one that went bad. When my Yorkie learned to take her battery out, he helped me find a solution to that, too. Couldn't have asked for more.

I sent an email per the website and in less than 2 hours received a response to come out the next day. Michael the installer called to say he was on his way. Very friendly, got the cut fixed right away and even got the ladder down to re-plug the unit in for me. I asked if he had a new battery for the dog's collar, (wasn't for one of theirs),he did (for less than the original company), installed it and checked to make sure the collar fit correctly. Very efficient

Lance originally installed our electric fence about a year and half ago. He was amazing then, and we have complete confidence in his work. We had a break in our line which was most likely caused by some toothy rabbits. Initially we had a tough time coordinating our schedules for the work to get done. After several phone calls and e-mails back in forth, Lance sent out one of his repair guys and did the job perfectly and without hassle. Because the repair took a few days to coordinate, he didn't charge us for it. Lance is one of the most trustworthy and hard-working people we've worked with. Can't say enough good things about him.

It was a very professional experience with complete satisfaction of the services provided. My expectation swere exceeded as to the instalation, training, and the dogs adaption to the fence.

Lance came to fix a few breaks in our fence....a break that had led to our dog getting out & upsetting another neighbor's dog. We also asked him separate the back & front yards, as well as fence off an area for a garden. Lance fixed the fence, installed the new areas with great feedback / ideas how to do. He was very professional & caring w/ my family & our dog. He got our dog comfortable w/ the new fence & now she's in the backyard where she belongs, not bothering people out front. And my wife can now plant her new garden this spring. Lance was a lot cheaper price than Inv. Fence co for repairs & adding areas. Inv Fence would have been $350 to do the same work.. We wish we could have bought our system & installed from him... But that was before Angieslist! Now we have an ace to take care of our fence anytime we need! Lance was also extremely professional. Perfect transaction.

Lance returned my email the same day and called me the morning after I contacted him. His employee was out the next morning to install the fence. The next day Lance came and completed training with the whole family and the dog. Lance is obviously well versed in animal behavior and did an excellent job training my dog, which I thought would be difficult. Lance was very pleasant and was able to relate to every member of our family in helping us all learn how to teach our dog. Lance came back again after a few days to review our progress and clear up any questions. He took all the time we needed and again was very responsive. I would highly recommend Lance's company. He is prompt, courteous, conscientious, and a very good value compared to other companies. Our dog is so happy to be able to romp and play without being on a chain! I am so glad I called Lance and did not wait another day to complete this project.

We were intrigued by invisible fences for our new beagle puppy. I wasn't convinced (typical husband) it would work with a beagle. We went to a home show and visited with several companies to better understand the products. We ended up winning one of Lance's booth raffle (an install discount). We communicated via e-mail several times about questions, details, etc. He was incredibly responsive and even connected us to a couple of beagle owners so we could ask them about it their experience with invisible fences and beagles. He came out to the house and gave us an estimate and was phenomenal in how he interacted with us and the dog. His knowledge and passion was evident. He's not just a fence installer/seller. He knows animal behavior and training and he helped us understand it. We have a couple of training sessions after the install and we're good to go. The beagle loves being outside and we loved not having to take her out in the 15inches of snow we just had! We had one snag: there was a miscommunication (actually misunderstanding by us) on the path of the invisible fence. Lance sent his installer back out and changed it for us. In fact, I just saw Lance at the March homeshow and I had not got back to him via e-mail on how the path re-do was working (just great) and that was the first question out of his mouth at the show. How's Kate (the beagle) and are you happy with the path change we did.

Lance trained the dog and us on the use of invisible fence. His crew put up the fence and they had to come back to redo it. He was fantastic.

We were a bit concerned about contacting a business in Columbus to do work in Cincinnati but Lance's company had so many good reviews we decided to give it a try. Right from the first conversation with Lance we felt comfortable. Lance's installer, Bob, came down the very next day and the fence was in within a few hours. Lance showed up the following day for the first training session. Lance is great with animals (just as others have said) and the big bonus was his dog Sue, who is trained to work your animal around the fence. Lance came back for the second session a week later. I can't remember feeling this good about a service company. By the way... Lance's company is rated as one of the best in the country.

The installation was excellent. They also provided two or three training sessions for both our family and our pet. They supplied all of the included materials, such as the collars and batteries, and also provided additional leashes and treats, which we really appreciated. He showed us what to do to make sure we were using the fence correctly. The owner, Lance, is very professional. He has an abundance of experience with all types of dogs. He was very easy to talk to, and was always willing to explain what was best for our kind of dog. We feel very comfortable calling him with any questions, and we can also contact him for any additional products or batteries we need. He keeps in touch throughout the year, and sends tips and information periodically. Although the installation is complete, he still makes himself very available to us for anything else we need. We were very happy with him and would certainly use him again.

Wonderful! Lance is great with dogs and you can tell he loves them. He is always very very courteous and polite. He wants to make sure his customers are happy (humans and dogs). We worked with Lance several times and he is consistently helpful and cares about running a reputable business. It is a pleasure to do business with him.
