Lance's Hidden Fencing

The worker showed up early and immediately started working. He immediately found all of the cuts in the line and began to repair them. We had a shed in the yard when the fence was originally installed so the fence went around the shed. The shed had been removed and I asked the worker to extend the fence so that the dog had more room to roam. The worker never hesitated and extended the fenceline without question, comment, or requirement for a separate estimate or work request. The overall experience was outstanding and the cost reasonable.

Rather than trying to sell us a new dog collar he cleaned, calibrated and fixed an old one we had in the garage. He fixed our system, put up flags around our 1/2 acre yard and then taught us how how to train our dog to obey the flags, fell comfortable in the yard and eventually not chase dogs walking by. He went through 3 bags of dog treats with our dog getting her to feel comfortable and safe in the yard. Lance knows a lot about dogs and is one of the friendliest person you will ever meet. Our only regret is not calling him sooner. Instead we tried ourselves and our dog is afraid of getting shocked anywhere in the yard.

Lance personnally answered his phone and pencilled me in for the same day service for a broken line. His followup after my linitial installation of the fence has been amazing. He's always available for his customers.

Fairly priced, quick response. Fast installation with minimal lawn impact. Return visits to reinforce training, adjust settings, and determine optimal solution. Extremely good with animals; Lance obviously really cares about dogs of all kinds. Unfailing good humor, and very effective. We recommend Lance without reservation. They were great. The service was excellent. They showed a lot of concern for my dog which I really appreciated. The entire cost of the whole thing was extremely reasonable. All the workers were prompt and professional, and they even checked the collar. I am pleased with the service.

When I called to make the appointment, I was given clear pricing information and a description of how the process of installation and training would work. I was also able to make an appointment to have the fence installed within a week. The installer (Ryan) showed up just when he was supposed to. He very professionally explained what he would be doing and listened to our requests about where we wanted our dogs to be able to go (and where we didn't want them to go). Then he got to work. Just as Ryan was finishing the installation, Lance came to our house to begin helping us with the training. His help was invaluable! He understands dogs and how they think! He worked with us for more than the hour we paid for and then offered to come again to check our progress and make any adjustments. After about a week, he came back as promised to fine tune the settings on the dogs' collars and answer our few remaining questions. Today, as we worked in the yard and our dogs played freely outside (rather than barking while tethered to a tree), we were really glad we called Lance. We highly recommend his company and would definitely call him again.

It went well. They were prompt. The fence wasn't working properly and they made a point to come in the evening and worked until it was almost dark.

Lance is great!!! We were surprised he wanted to do training with Madison, our goldendoodle, only a week after we adopted her. She had some very severe behavior issues and our trainer was coming to our home later in the week. Lance felt she should understand the fence before the training. Madison, 2 1/2 was a return to a breeder and was not socialized as a puppy and had not received any obedience training. She was very fearful of people and at the time acted like a complete lunatic around new people. Lance took her behavior in stride. I couldn't believe he was able to work with her!!!! The breeder was also here because she was so leery of a dog with such a prey drive learning how to use an invisible fence. We all worked together and by the time the training ended Madison clearly understood the boundaries of the fence. She was actually easier to train than the first dog because she was more engaged in the process. The breeder was so impressed with Mark she's willing to let people use invisible fences for puppies and dogs now (there is a stigma for some reason about invisible fences and doodles). Madison has not left the yard one time even when tempted with bunnies and birds. She's so happy running free for the first time in her life. Lance understood the body language he needed to use to keep her calm and he was simply amazing. We love Lance. He did such a good job with the first training session that we didn't need a second session. I'd highly recommend Lance for any of your invisible fencing needs. You simply won't find anyone better.

They arrived promptly on time to install the fencing (I had purchased the fence for my daughter as a Christmas present since the dog is hers) and they walked the yard with us and made sure exactly where we wanted the fencing and where our dog usually goes in the yard (i.e. which plants & beds he is allowed to be close to and which ones we wanted to be outside the fencing so he wouldn't be able to get near them). After walking the entire acre, he promptly began working with the machine and laying the fencing. As soon as it was laid, he marked it with the little flags so we, as well as the dog, would know where he was allowed to go. We had the initial training that came with the fencing, but decided to purchase the more intense training because we live on a VERY busy street and didn't want to take a chance that our dog would try to run through the invisible fencing and run into the street after a bicyclist (he HATES anything on wheels) or a walker. The trainer stayed well into the evening until he felt our dog understood and was comfortable with the fence and that we were trained as well and were comfortable. We have now had the fence up and using it for 5 months - we walk out with our dog with no leash. He will bark at bicycles but only a couple times, he doesn't run after them. He walks with us, runs after his frisbee and ball but if it happens to get to the edge of the fencing or even over it, he stops and looks at us, waiting for us to go get them. He even stopped chasing a rabbit and squirrel at the edge of the fencing and barked at them to stay out of his yard - the squirrel just jumped up on the neighbors fence and screamed back at him. :-) I'd definitely recommend getting this fencing for your dog, we are happy and our dog is ecstatic, he runs and runs and runs!

My husband and I have been a resident of Dublin OH for 3 days and have really struggled with our 3 dogs and a no visible fence rule. I contacted Lance this morning at around 8:30 and explained our situation and how urgent it was that we have an invisible fence installed. LANCE ARRIVED AT 10:00!!!!! He worked for several hours not only installing the fence but made sure to even hide the wiring cables in the garage. He spent more than enough ample time with training and constantly looked for ways to save us money. I cannot be happier with him and wish him the very best. He is certainly deserving.

The installation of the fence went well. Ryan took his time explaining how it worked and making sure where we wanted to install the controller. The training of our two dogs went very well. Lance was great taking his time with each dog. He was not rushed at all and by the time he left a few hours later the dogs were well trained. Lance even made a connection with our older dog that usually doesn't warm up to strangers. We highly recommend Lance and his company.

He was the installer, but he works for a different company. It doesn’t cost me a dime annually for that unless somebody breaks the wires. Their service is excellent. I would use them again in the future if needed.

Everything was exceptional! The prices are conveniently listed on their website (unlike others), and I had questions about the Angie discount, so I sent an email. Natasha emailed me back the same day with detailed responses and I called to set an appointment. The day before, the electric company came out (at the request of Lance) to mark the yard. We were concerned about how wet our yard was and if the equipment would make ruts, and when Ryan came out the first time, it was raining and he agreed we shouldn't do it yet. Ryan is very personable and he explained how everything worked as far as the buried wire. When he came out to bury the wire, he was very thorough, very pleasant, and very informative with what he would be doing and how it would work. And, our yard was left completely in tact! Lance came out to train a couple days later and he, too, is very personable and very concerned about what is best for the dog, AND the owner (like me) who worries about how the dog will respond. Our pup loved him, and he worked with him, tried different collars, and different levels until he found the one that works best for our dog. A couple days later, our pup knows the boundaries, he does NOT run out when people walk down the street, or I cross the street, and he is very happy to be able to run his whole yard! Lance, Natasha, and Ryan are professional, yet down to earth, and I highly recommend them all!

We found them on Angie's List. They were really reasonable and that's why we went ahead and used them. I thought that it was a good deal. They were great, except that the guy didn't want to go outside because he just kept standing here talking and talking. I don't really blame him because it was really cold that day. They didn't tear our yard up, but there were little areas where they put the fence in, but it's all grown back. I've never had to have them back. We haven't had any problems.

We have used Lance's fencing for several years. We will continue to do so. We always call him when we have issues, and he is very responsive. When a receiver battery dies, we just call Lance and he sends a replacement in the mail. We then send him a check. We have never had an issue with the service from Lance's Hidden Fencing.

I purchased the Big Deal early morning Tuesday the 27th of December and within minutes I received an email to schedule the installation. I was surprised that they would schedule so quickly and schedule on the following Saturday even though it was New Years Eve. Ryan came out to do the install and he was very professional addressing my every concern. Lance came out immediately after the install to do the training. I was very glad that I paid extra for the training and would recommend to anyone who has never had an invisible fence to pay for the training because it is well worth the money. If your dog is not trained properly, the fence is worthless. Our yard is a one acre yard. The time it took for the installation and training, I am not even sure how they made money, but I am very pleased with the value that I paid for. Lance is an expert with dogs and I was very impressed as he even trained me on what and what not to do regarding my dog and the fence. Three months later and it is working great and we cannot tell where the ground was dug to install the wire. I would recommend Lance's Hidden Fence to anyone.

Lance was magnificent. If I could give him a grade higher than an A, I would. We originally called Lance before we adopted our rescue dog. We were very interested in adopting a goldendoodle but the 2 doodle rescues will not adopt to people without physical fences and our neighborhood does not allow physical fences. So, I wanted to talk to a professional in the business of invisible fences to find out if there were certain breeds we should stay away from that possibly weren't suited to invisible fencing. Lance really put my mind at east that he would be able to help us with any dog we adopted - even a goldendoodle if we found one available at another rescue. He really took the time with me on the phone and I really appreciated the time he took. Next was the installation and pricing. I love that Lance has a set price for his fencing that includes the training. No trying to piece a package together...it's all right there at a great price - nothing to add on for an extra cost. It was such a relief! The installation went great! Next was our initial training. Lance loves dogs. He knows what he is doing and he is excellent. He spent lots of time with our newly adopted dog and spent quality time here. Our dog loved him. Our dog clearly understood the boundaries and we understood what we were supposed to do for our continued training once he left. That same day we went out to train and our dog kept walking right through a certain area. I called Lance on a Saturday evening and he came right over. I certainly didn't expect someone to come over on a cold Saturday night. It turned out that the fence in one area was getting interference with some utilities. He couldn't change to another frequency because our neighbor was on that frequency (many invisible fences in our neighborhood), so he completely changed out our system on a Saturday night. Then, to make sure our dog still knew what to do and to make sure we didn't undo any of the training, he did some more training!!! All on a cold weekend night! Then, the next day we were doing more training and our sweet dog walked through the fence a few more times with little to no reaction. So, I called Lance again. He assured me the fence was working but we may need to increases the level of the collar - he had it at the lowest setting. We had another training session set up, but he insisted on coming on a Sunday night to fix it. He wanted to make sure our training was effective and that the settings were perfect. We finished our training today and our dog is doing great! We have the peace of mind knowing our dog is safe in our yard. Lance gave us a year supply of batteries and extra collars. Our dog was so excited to see him! Lance feels like family and he's definitely someone we would recommend using for your invisible fencing needs. Lance won't stop until you are happy.

Let's start by saying Lance is GREAT!!!! and all the reviews are spot on!! We have just moved to the area and my brother was keeping my two golden retrievers in another state for a few months. A family emergency came up and we got the dogs Monday night, but before I had anytime to investigate fences which in our subdivision really is mandatory. I went to Angie's list and found local companies and compared prices and reviews; I was quite impressed with all the positive reviews for Lance's Hidden Fencing, so I called Lance Tuesday afternoon. Lance must have spent a half hour on the phone explaining all the in's and outs of these types of fences and answered tons of my questions...(I have never had these types of fences before) I told him of my "emergency" need for a fence and I was scheduled for installation on Thursday, two days later. We had just moved into this house and I have not met my neighbors, and our property lines are very blurred so when Ryan and Lance got here, I was unsure exactly where our boundaries lay. Lance was able to pick up the signal from the invisible fence that the neighbor on one side has, so we were able to piggy-back the signal line on one side and use the platte map that I had from the closing to ascertain the other side boundary. Who would have thought it would be so hard to figure out boundary lines..anyway he was great! Once the line was in, Lance worked with the oldest dog first and then the youngest and then both of them together. The boys absolutely loved him, he was very positive with them. The youngest dog is a very large lovable polar bear, and unfortunately was not responding to the signal, so Lance had to upgrade him to a stronger collar. Well the second level collar didn't seem to be enough to get his attention, so Lance got him a "really big dog collar" guess what?... he notices this one. Lance must have spent about 3.5 hours working with the dogs and explaining everything to me that he was doing and how to continue the training for the boys. I truly believe I got more than my monies worth and would recommend Lance's Hidden Fencing to ANYONE!!! They are responsive, professional, very personable and really care about doing a good job, Lance has "That" passion and it shows :)

Fence installation went fine--installer was willing to do it however we wanted, yet also had recommendations that made sense. We were surprised that cold, snowy weather was not a deterant. Lance was very good with our dog. He obviously understands dogs, can read them well, and emphasizes the positive. He was good at training us too--which was even more important! Glad they are open for ongoing questions as we continue the job.

It was an excellent experience. The entire experience is described above. I personally would recommend the dog training for the extra money if you're not sure how your dog will do or if you are unsure of your ability to work with your dog.

We purchased a Big Deal from Angie's List primarily because of the great reviews they had and it was a really good deal. They very much lived up to their reviews. They contacted us back almost immediately to set up a date to install the fence. The day came and it was terrible outside (very cold and snow on the ground) and I would have been more than OK with them rescheduling. But instead of rescheduling the installer showed up (I wish I remember his name but he did a great job) and went to work. It was done quickly and very well even with the terrible weather. We had one small issue that was addressed very quickly and without any additional charge. I would HIGHLY suggest them to anyone considering an invisible fence. Thanks!
