Lance's Hidden Fencing

To start off with, we were inadvertently difficult clients, as we had to reschedule our fence installation date twice. Both times Lance was very accommodating and gracious in scheduling new dates. Looking back I can?t imagine the installation and training going any better than what it did. They?re a first rate company that doesn?t take any short cuts. One example is with the conduit they use to protect the wire as it crosses a flowerbed edge into the yard. This protects the wire from the power edger blade during future edging of the flowerbed. The also use Lupine collars for the dogs, they're more costly but they are guaranteed for life. Lance was fabulous. He demonstrated great patience with the dogs, (and for that matter, with the owners too), and had great insight as to proper training techniques for the dogs. It wasn?t until the training was over that we realized that yes installing the fence is important, but that the quality of training for the dogs is just as important for success with their new fence. Lance excelled at both! Don?t fool around, just call Lance! Note to price shoppers, our total cost included training and supplies for two dogs. But really, don't fool around just call Lance.

Installer came out promptly and installed the invisible fence. Very neatly done. I walked him through the yard but had to leave for work. Came home to a very clean install. Lance came out the next day and took a lot of time expalining the training and we walked for over an hour to get the dog accustomerd to the fence and the collar. Left us with plenty of batetries and snacks to train with.

Service was exceptional and rarely have experienced such professionionalism, knowledge and helpful customer service. They got a previous existing hidden fence working and set us up with training and a new collar. They followed up and provided upgraded collars for no charge to ensure training was effective and we would be happy with the results. Our six-year-old dog went through the fence and twice had Animal Control and law enforcement trying to catch her, and it was all a game she kept playing. She stayed out for 3 days just watching from the neighbor's yard and as soon as got close, she took off again. The dog catcher spent hours and wasn't able to get her. No traps worked and she is not motivated by food. It was very frustrating and embarrassing as neighbors kept coming to the door or calling that she was out in the cold. She stubbornly wanted to do what she wanted.. Training was exceptional and they provided various leeds/leashes to help us through the couple of months we have been using their service. They even stopped by to check if everything was okay while at a neighbor's house. We are very happy with the service and would recommend highly to anyone. We never thought it would work for this dog...and we are so pleased! Thank you. !

Lance is the bomb!! He worked with our second rescue dog on hidden fence training. Our new dog needs work and didn't understand the boundaries of an electric fence. Lance spent over an hour working directly with our new baby, making sure he didn't leave until some type of understanding was established. Several days after training, the dog continued to challenge the boundary, even breaking through a few times. I called Lance to ask about it, and he was very quick to help remedy the situation (by changing a setting on the collar). One time with the new correction and my new dog gets it!! Lance does a great job following up to be sure that everything is working correctly and was even quick to repair the fence line after landscapers accidently cut it! Lance and his staff truly understand dog behavior and are great with tidbits of info about dog breeds, behavior, etc. Lance can even recommend a wonderful dog trainer if needed. Overall, I would hire Lance a million times before even thinking of calling someone else. Best customer service EVER!

I'm so happy with this purchase. Lance has been great to work with. We've never had an invisible fence before. Lance spent a lot of time with me, making sure all my questions we're answered. I bought the Angie's List package in December, but didn't want to begin training until the weather was warmer. Lance had no problem with that. The fence was installed in January, but dog training didn't start until last week (April 4). Lance was very accommodating to fit the training in to a time that was convenient for my family. He was so great with our dog! I never got the feeling that he was rushing through things. He was so patient answering all of our training questions. Within two hours, our dog was pretty much trained, and within three days our dog was in our yard leash free! It was truly that easy, and believe me when I say I'm no Cesar Millan.... I truly cannot offer enough praise for Lance. I am 100% happy with his products and services and couldn't have asked for anything more! This would be a great value at twice what I paid!

Perfect from start to finish!

We have been very happy with the fence. It took a couple of visits to adjust the setting and get the appropriate device for the collar but the dog (Golden Retriever) has tolerated the collar and the fencing without a problem. Lance has been very responsive to any calls that we have made to him.

The intial phone call with Lance was very cordial and informative. Installation was scheduled promptly. The service received was outstanding. I would highly recommend Lance's Hidden Fencing.

This was a big deal. I got a call from Lance within few minutes of purchase of the deal. Appointment was scheduled immediately. On the day of installation, we had bad weather in Cinainnati and local person was not available. They sent a person from Columbus for installation on time and he did installation inspite of the weather. Person who came for installation was very professional and did answer all the questions.

It went well. The person was on time and courteous.

I was quite pleased with the price as well as the quickness with which Lance was able to install the fence. They actually came out on New Years Day (however, had I known about the noisy machinery I would have postponed the 9am start time out of consideration for my neighbors). The training was the best part. Lance was very patient with my two pups. He did several adjustments to the collars in order to find the best fit--not really painful for the dog, but effective nonetheless. So far, the dogs have stayed inside the fence while people have walked their own dogs by, and the only breakthrough can be entirely blamed on a neighborhood cat who's a terrible tease. Very satisfied.

On Saturday morning last, Rob from Lance's Hidden Fencing came to install the fence in our backyard. I had not intended to fence the front yard, but Rob suggested looping the wire to include the front porch, as the dog in question is an escape artist-great suggestion! He worked 3+ hours in the cold and wind, very neatly laying the wiring, drilling a small hole in the foundation of the garage to install the main box to an outlet. He was very conscientious about cleaning up the debris, very courteous, and explained the rationale behind everything he was doing. Lance then arrived early Saturday afternoon and spent 2+ hours with us and our dog, walking the backyard while testing the dog against the barrier with potential outside distractions. Lance was amazing, extremely knowledgeable, tenacious, and a superb instructor. I am so glad I chose to include his onsite instruction, instead of just watching the DVD that is included in the price of the fencing. One can tell that he really enjoys his work, and he loves dogs. I would recommend Lance's Hidden Fencing to anyone, anytime, anywhere. The dog is much happier and minds better now that she is not on a chain in the backyard. She barked constantly when in the backyard on the chain, and now we rarely hear a peep out of her. She was trying to tell us how unhappy she was all along :( .

I purchased a hidden fence from Lance, and also purchased a training session for my Labradoodle puppy. Our yard is quite narrow and had some challenging terrain, including a stone wall and a steep down path from front yard to back. Lance's team came on time, and worked out a great solution for our hidden fence, one that is working very effectively. The team member who installed the fence was cheerful despite the challenging job, was polite and professional and did just what was promised. AFter the fence was installed, Lance worked with me and our puppy to show me how to do the fence training. My dog loved Lance! Lance really has a great way with dogs. He picks up signs from small behaviors and taught me how to notice what was working and where my puppy might be confused or not "getting it." It was a pleasure to work with him. We got high quality service, a great produce and wonderful training. I have already recommended Lance to one of my neighbors.

We used Lance's service a little over a year ago and got the fence and training. We recently moved and used them again. Very professional, take the time to help you plan where the fence should go, and install it. Great service both times we've used them and the fence along with the training provided by Lance have never failed.

Lance did a wonderful job staying in close touch with us to figure out an installation date. The guys who installed the fence were hard working and very nice!

The guys were punctual and prompt in getting the install done and were very courteous. I would definitely recommend them others. Lance came back a week later to complete a training session.

They almost immediately contacted us to set up installation time, and were willing to work with our schedule. Installation was quick and easy, and the information provided was helpful. We have not yet trained our dog (due to weather and health issues) so I can't speak to how the fence works but assuming everything works as expected, we will be very pleased.

I would highly recommend this company. They were professional and did a very thorough job at a great price. Lance seems to sincerely enjoy working with dogs and owners. If you need an electric fence, this would be a good company to choose.

They showed up during a heavy snow and ice storm and completed the work outside in miserable conditions. Very pleased with the service we received. They installed and marked an underground dog fence for us.

WOW!!! This is the best company I've worked with on anything EVER. We bought the Angie's List special just before Christmas. I figured that we'd have to wait a bit to get the fence installed. I did the online purchase and within a couple of hours Lance CALLED ME to schedule installation for the next day. The following day, Lance called to let me know that Jimmy would be doing the installation and that it was his first time doing it solo (he'd been working with a partner for a few months). It was cold and raining like crazy but Jimmy insisted that it was no problem and that he'd worked in much worse weather (I can't imagine what could be worse). His equipment for digging to bury the lines was having problems (probably due to the fact that the ground was so wet it was practically floating) and it was taking him longer than anticipated. We kept telling him that he could come back when the weather was better but he kept insisting that it was no problem and he would get it finished. It was cold, wet and dark but Jimmy stayed and got the job done. The next day both Ryan and Jimmy came back out to recheck that everything was completed correctly. You couldn't even tell that any digging had been done. I was scheduled to have training with Lance the following day but he called asking if I wanted to reschedule, probably knowing that while Jimmy was willing to work outside in the pouring rain, I would probably opt out and he was right. We scheduled for a day after Christmas that worked with my schedule. Lance arrived exactly as scheduled and we started the training. Lance was great with our new pup. I was a bit concerned that the hidden fence might be a bad experience for him as he can get nervous with noises and unexpected things. Lance was SO good with him and he made the training a fun learning experience. During the training he realized that the fencing was too close to our side walkway and that the pup might have a problem with it. He scheduled to have Ryan & Jimmy come out the next day and move the fence boundary out so he could comfortably move from the back to front yards. Lance also included an extra collar, four batteries for the collar, a bag of treats and a long leash to use in training! A grade of "A" is just not good enough for this company. If I could, I'd give them an A++++++++++++++++!!!!

Installation of Invisible fence was done throughout the yard exactly as I wanted. Ryan was very professional and took his time with the job. Following the installation of the fence, Lance came out and spent an entire morning working with our 12 yr old Golden Retriever. The training was much better than I expected and I would highly recommend it. Overall, this was a great experience and I would highly recommend Lance's Hidden Fencing to anyone I know.

We puchased the "deal" through Angie's List. Scheduling was easy. Once we called, we were able to set up a date within a week or so. One of Lance's installers did the actual installation and wire burying and then Lance came in the early evening for the training session. His manner was great. He worked well with our dog, my children, wife, and our housekeeper. He stayed much later than expected, waiting for a dog to walk by to ensure that we knew how to control our dog as she learned about the "fence" with her strong desire to get to the other dog. Lance also provided us with a long training leash and extra collars for the receiver, along with the 4 batteries. (Don't let your children take off the collar and leave it for the dog to chew, we have already used oen fo the extra collars.) He showed us how to install the receiver to the collar and how to change batteries with the provided tool. Our transmitter was installed in our basement with the wires going out through the wall and then undergound in a simple loop around the perimeter of our property. (Our attatched garage is surrounded by concrete). Please note that a grounded outlet is required for the lightning protector. (We needed to call an electrician because we did not have grounded outlet in that area, just an ungrounded one.) My wife wanted to be able to keep our dog out of the dining room, so the plan was to extend the wire loop under the floor near the entrances to the dining room (the transmitter was in the basement under the dining room). Lance had his installer come back a few days later to add the wire. However, due to heating duct work, he was unable to run the appropriate wire loop and installed a separate plug in unit. I would strongly recommend using Lance for your hidden pet fencing needs.
