Lance's Hidden Fencing

Lance installed a fence for us in Central Ohio in 2013. One of his employees installed the actual fence, and Lance personally handled training us and our dog. We were so impressed with him and the superlative job he and his installer did, that we asked him to install another fence for us at a home we own in Northeast Ohio. Ryan, our installer, was so conscientious that he called to let us know he was on his way and feared he would be a few minutes late. Actually, he arrived a bit early. After inquiring how we wanted to lay out the fence and offering some suggestions, he went to work. We thought it would take most of the day, because the fenced area amounted to two acres and Ryan had to bury the fence in both landscaped areas with delicate plants and in a wooded area with lots of tree roots at the surface. All totaled, the job took around four hours. Ryan did a thoroughly professional job. No mess; no mistakes. He was extremely pleasant and obviously loved dogs, as well as his job. I should note that had our dog not had previous experience with this type of fence, a thorough training session would have been included in the price. Lance also installs fences elsewhere in Ohio and can work during the winter, if there is not a lot of snow. We are delighted with the two jobs he has done for us. Our dog loves the freedom that the hidden fence allows her.

DON'T LET THEM INSTALL w. SNOW ON GROUND. Overall I still recommend Lance's Pet Fence, but mine was installed while there was 3+ inches of snow on the ground. I no nothing, so I didn't stop them and they didn't have a concern. But the wire is so shallow and in areas pops above the ground level. Around tree beds where the ground level drops is even worse. I don't think there would be an issue if they installed without snow on the ground, but I made a mistake of letting them continue. The system works well. They were responsive in testing it to be sure I had a system without interference and replaced a box a couple times until it was all set. The puppy loves it and much easier for us. Second word of caution, remember to tighten the screws on the back of the collar periodically. Ours fell off this winter and then we found it with the business end of a snow blower.

The forecast was for pouring rain and fully expected a call asking if we could reschedule, but that was not the case! Ryan, the installer, arrived and was ready to get to work. Lance arrived a bit later and I told him I'd expected a call to reschedule. He responded that he knew of our dilemma (dog digging out of the bag yard) and wanted to get the fencing installed for us. Both were extremely professional, courteous and thoughtful of our situation. Lance has to be one of the nicest people I've met. Definitely an animal person!! The training with our dog was in the rain. Lance was very patient with both me and the dog. Very knowledgeable about the product and offered great tips. Would absolutely recommend Lance's Hidden Fencing to anyone thinking about having electric fencing installed.

Ryan arrived right on time. After talking with me briefly about the boundaries, he got to work. We have a large, wooded lot that provided a bit of a challenge as there were many fallen trees and rocks in his path. Ryan didn't seem deterred--even chopping one of the trees up with a small ax! All in all, the service provided was fantastic. We've not yet had an opportunity to try the fence out with our dog but will in the coming days (we haven't moved in yet).

Punctual, professional, and my dogs loved them. The installer (Ryan) even added features I had not thought about like putting the wire in conduit at the edge of bush beds so it would not be cut when landscaping. Had to take up a few pavers on my paver sidewalk, but minimized the disturbance and did a pretty good job reinstalling them. Lance trained my two dogs for about three hours (and he trained me) and made sure that they were wearing the right voltage collars, and that they were adapting well to their new parameters. He takes a lot of time with the animals to ensure they are well trained, happy, and feel secure in their environment. Leaves you with a 30-day plan to maximize their training and the effectiveness of the fencing. The only thing negative I would say is that he promised to send me an instruction booklet (or a webpage link) for the collars and to date, I have not yet received it. Other than that, I would highly recommend this company!

Great customer service. Explained everything clearly and helped us consider the boundaries to meet our needs and goals. Arrived on time and finished early.

They put an advertisement sign on my mailbox without asking. Everything else was good.

They were wonderful. Due to the break in the weather, we were able to schedule for the next day (Saturday). I received a call that they were running a little late which was fine with us. Brent discussed the options for placement of the fence and did a great job explaining everything. Once the front yard was installed, Lance started training us and our dog while Brent finished up the back yard. Lance did an excellent job explaining how to train our 80 pound, 9mo mastiff mix puppy. Our dogs loved him. They were both very personable and professional. Wonderful customer service.

The cost did not change, we did not pay anything additional. They were very responsive, and I wish there was a little more consultation on where they could put the line. The only complaint we had was that they put their advertisement on one of the post without asking.

He is a wonder person and did everything great! We were worried that our dogs wouldn't stay contained. We have three dogs all together but two of them run away and the third doesn't. He trained two of our dogs and made sure everything was set. Two days later all dogs are doing great! We are pleased with the product and service. Plus he is the cheapest by far, we had all the invisible fence people give us estimates.

They showed us where the boundaries were, relayed some line to make it suit our needs, and got us a working collar. Dont waste time, call Lance. The person who came out for Lance was awesome.

This was a very easy process with Lance and Ryan. OUTSTANDING service, professionalism and price. After dealing with a "national" named company, I was quite discourage due to all the middle "men" who needed to call and try to talk us into upgrades. I checked Angie's list and found Lance. One phone call and it was done! He came to our house, the next day Ryan came out and buried the cable and installed the transmitter in the garage. Then Lance came immediately back to the house and spent two hours working with our dog and us. It was so easy. So glad we made this decision. Lance made it easy to do and now we have such peace of mind.

About four years ago when we got our beloved chocolate lab puppy Lance's Hidden Fence tested and activated the existing fence that had previously been installed, as well as provided a collar; ever since they have provided impeccable service, always coming to service calls within 24 hours and most recently they repaired several areas that we were causing our fence to malfunction and not contain our dog. The technician was friendly, on time, efficient and tested the ENTIRE perimeter of our fence, repairing each section and tested the collar to make sure that all was working properly. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to have a new fence installed or to activate/repair a current fence.

Fixed our old fence and trained our new dog. Lance loves pets and treats with genuine care. Lance does not nickle and dime you with charges and service plans.

We had an issue with the frequencies because my neighbors have hidden fences as well, so they had to come back with different equipment - but they did and they were great. My dog actually dug up the cable a few months later and they came out and fixed that as well. We were very pleased with the responsiveness.

The installer was on time. He walked the perimeter with me offering suggestions and listening to me concerns about safely containing my dogs. The installation went great. He answered all my questions, thoroughly explained how to train the dogs and how to troubleshoot the system. I called Lance several times about training questions. He promptly returned calls and is very knowledgable and friendly. The system works perfectly. I would not hesitate hiring them again.

I had the previously installed electric fence repaired, and purchased a new home base and dog collar. The gentelman who came and did the work wad professional and knowledgeable. I am happy that our small dog now stays in our yard.

I chose this provider based on Angie's List ratings and was not disappointed. The installer worked with me to determine the best location for our fence to keep our dog in the back yard and to keep her from running out the front door or the garage door. The next day Lance came out and worked with me and the dog. He was very aware of the dog's emotional state, which I appreciated, and gave me good instructions for continuing training after he left. By the time he was finished we were able to cross the fence line while the dog stayed inside the boundaries. The training is not over yet, and Lance asked to come back out for a second session at no additional charge, as our dog is a litter more difficult to train than most due to previous shock collar training when she was a puppy. He gave me thorough instructions on the fence and collars and how to know if everything is in working order. I thought the price was very reasonable and really liked Lance. I would hire him again.

Fantastic! Everyone we dealt with was very professional and helpful. Our neighbor had recommended Lance's after their recent good experience. And we're glad they did because Lance's gave us a much better price than what we had been quoted by some other "Invisible Fence" companies, and the overall experience was great. He was really good with our dog and offered lots of great advice during the session. Nice guy -- excellent service -- highly recommended. btw, it's been a week and the training is going very well -- it's so nice to be able to go out without holding the leash...and just in time for winter too :-)

An employee came to install the hidden fence on a 3/4 acre lot. He has a machine to dig and install a wire underground and saws a thin cut across the driveway to install the wire under the driveway. He used a sealer to seal the cut across the driveway. He was friendly. He marked the boundary where the wires were with small flags. Lance came the following Monday and trained the dog and gave information how the system works. He is coming again next Monday for more training. The dog is starting to get used to the fence, but is still a little confused and apprehensive about it. It looks like it is working and will be worth the expense and effort.

We moved to a new home, put in the fence ourselves. Our "baby" is somewhat stubborn and will often take the charge of the fence. After completing her training (3rd home with underground), she promptly ran to the neighbors and fought their dog, resulting in some substantial wounds to the eye area. We couldn't figure out what the problem was. I had been referred to Lance by numerous people and decided it was time to bite the bullet and ask him to come out. We were hoping he could see what we were missing. I called to set up an appointment, dreading the cost the whole time. Instead of booking an appointment, he spoke to me for almost an hour going through different scenarios that could alleviate the problem. I was very appreciative that instead of just booking an appointment to make more money, he was willing to just talk it through over the phone. GREAT Customer Service!
