We have had 2 great experiences with Kustom Home Inspection. We first used them in November of 2013. We were in contract on a home that was obviouly a flip. They had disclosed that mold had been discovered but had been remedied. Despite this, I set up a home inspection, mold inspection, termite inspection and radon test (about $880 total). Setting up the appointment was quick and easy and the entire process took about 3 hours. They had 3 employees out there - one for each test. Chris did the home inspection and was very thorough and willing to answer all of our questions. Because mold was discovered yet again (and quite a bit of it) and the seller was unwilling to remedy the various issues that surfaced, we did not purchase the home. We entered into contract again in the spring of 2014. I called Kustom Home Inspection on a Monday and they came out 24 hours later. I scheduled a home inspection and termite inspection this time. The inspection was done by Chris again and he did a great job. He submitted the inspection report to us via email within 12 hours of the inspection. I am impressed by this company's thoroughness, friendliness, willingness to explain anything and everything on the inspection report and promptness. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone and would use them again for a home purchase.

Kustom did a home inspection for a home that my husband and I are looking to purchase. They were super friendly and quick to get me scheduled within the timeframe we needed. Chris, the inspector, was very knowledgeable and quick to answer any questions I had. He not only pointed out areas of concern but gave me a lot of useful info as to why they were of concern. I received my full report within just a few hours of the inspection to my email. The person that setup the radon inspection was also very friendly and answered all of my questions. They were very friendly, thorough and patient with all of my dumb questions!!! I would definitely recommend them to anyone and will use them again for any inspection needs we may have.

We thought we had found our dream home; a log house on a wooded lot with two streams on the property. The owner of the company arrived on time with two other inspectors, both of whom had built and owned log homes, so they were very in tune with the potential issues. They were incredibly thorough, and took all the time necessary to point out both the good and the bad in their findings, including sharing thoughts on potential sources of problems and/or possible resolutions, but without endorsing a particular solution or contractor, although they did share recommendations on the latter, based on their collective experiences. In the end, their highly detailed report convinced us not to buy that home. Shortly after that, we did find our true dream home; ironically, right next door to the company owner's house! To avoid a conflict of interest (I assume), he assigned one of his other inspectors to do the work. Our experience was identical to the first inspection; professional, patient and incredibly thorough. We ended up buying the home at a reduced price to offset a few areas in which remediation was required, and we are still using the Engineering Report to make some improvements and minor repairs. I would absolutely recommend Kustom Home Inspection to anyone looking for their services. If we ever move again, they have earned my repeat business.

Company was hired for a home inspection. The inspector showed up and noticed the number of deficiencies with the home, did not charge the buyers, and gave them recommendations for a real estate attorney.

It went well. He was punctual and informative. He took his time to explain everything. He told us the approximate age of our roof and furnace and let us know what to expect. That helped us with the purchase price and once again, what to expect once we bought the house. Highly recommend Ken!

I am thoroughly satisfied with the home inspection conducted by Kustom Home Inspection. The home being inspected had not been lived in for at least a year and we had many questions about whether the systems worked. Two inspectors conducted the inspection for 4.5 hours and a third one conducted the radon inspection. They were extraordinarily thorough. I was particularly pleased with the high quality of their inspection of the large attic, extensive crawl space, and aeration septic system. I asked many questions and received thorough and clear answers. Their written report covers all aspects of the property. We walked the property and now I know about the irrigation system and the well that feeds it, all of the details about the electrical system in the house, what aspects of the exterior need attention, and the operation of various mechanicals (AC, furnance, kitchen, fireplaces). Further, their input helped me form a list of items that need to be remedied, and the priority with which I should get them done. My summary is that they will be great for any property and are really excellent if you need to have a "complicated" house inspected, either one with a lot of age or with a lot of mechanicals.

The inspector(Chris Stout) was very thorough with his inspection,and found some major issues with the new home.If not for the inspection,i might be the one holding the bag to fix those issues.

Mike Houlihan was the inspector who came to the house. We are renting and we are trying to decide if the home is worth buying. He was here for 3 hours. Mike was very thorough and walked us through every part of the house except for the attic. He pointed out things that needed updating, things to monitor, things that were normal, and things that needed to be fixed for a higher quality home. He then provided a detailed report complete with pictures that he emailed us. We are glad we went with this company - very professional and felt he did a complete job. We would recommend this company for sure.

The guy who came out was fantastic (I cant remember his name) They were there ahead of schedule and had already started the exterior inspection prior to my arrival. He caught many small things that could have been very bad for me to repair in the future. He was very easy going and took extra time to describe what he was looking for to me and the pros/cons of the results of what was found. I would definitely recommend to anyone and will use them again if I found another house to purchase.

When we arrived at the location, Mike had the residence unlocked and was surveying the outside. He was curteous and greeted us without judgement. We followed him around during the inspection (except on the roof and in the attic), asking several questions both in regard to condition of house and preventative recommendations. He gave us prevention tips along the way, citing materials, price and where to purchase. Many of the recommendations we will be able to complete on our own, thanks to Mike's great explanations. He completed the tasks within a couple of hours, yet he was thorough. The price was exactly as quoted, and we were given a guarentee of service and told we could call anytime with questions about keeping the house in tip-top condition. In addition to the great service Mike provided, the staff which booked the appointment and made confirmation calls were very polite and accomodating. This was a great experience all around. We used Kustom Home Inspections in the past, on a house we were in contract with (unfortunately the deal fell through), and really liked them so when we went into contract on another house we knew we wanted them to perform the inspection for us. The house is 103 years old, and Chris at Kustom was so thorough (Ken was the inspector on the first house). In fact, he found a lot of problems the current owner's inspector missed just a year prior; BIG problems. Because of Kustom Home's attention to detail and recommendation to get repair estimates before closing we headed into the deal with our eyes wide open; we knew what to expect. And because his report was so detailed, our insurance company had the correct representation of the house. If this contract falls through like the last one, we will use Kustom Home Inspection for our next inspection, too.

The experience with Kustom Home Inspection was great. They arrived promptly and spent a long time looking over the place (something you definitely want with a home inspection). The report was very detailed and since I could not be there they called me after the inspection to give me a summary. It was wonderful customer service and I am very happy with the whole process. I would use them again in a heart beat.

Standard inspection. Inspector ignored two wet spots on ceilong in basement until I pointed them out. Inspector did not walk the roof. If he had, he would have realized roof had a leak and rotten sheating. This is the reason there are wet spots on basent ceiling. I am n5ow paying for roof repair that should have been paid for by the seller.

Efficient and straight forward on the phone at initial call. Prompt and professional at time of service. Thorough at inspection and in follow up report which was emailed the same day as inpsection. All in all a good experience.

Well, Arrived on time, did thorough review of home, found numerous issues that would have cost me a lot of money. I did not go through with purchase thanks to the inspection.

It went great from the initial phone call that I place, to the inspector arriving to my house prior to me (so ahead of time), very friendly and informative throughout the inspection process, and quickly provided me with a thorough report the next morning.

Contacted the company 3 times. First time I actually received a call from Ken and he gave me a price. I told him that I would call back. Second call was made to schedule the inspection, young man answered the phone and said I would receive a call back within 30 minutes. I never got the call that day. Next morning, I called again. Another man said he would have Ken call me back within 30 minutes and said that the next available appointment was Saturday. About 2 hours later I received the call from Ken. He said that he was booked all day Saturday after it was told to me that it was available. Ok..alright with that rescheduled it for Monday. Then he talked about price ....he raised the price from our initial discussion. I confronted him that he had given me a different price 2 days earlier. In the end, told him I was not comfortable with his company. I should not have had to call 3 times and have the price change. I contacted him initially because of all of the good reviews from Angies List.

They did a great job. The inspector explained everything to me in ways that I could understand. I never did this on my own and I'm not really savvy about home things and how things work. They were very patient. They explained things and took me around. They were just accessible. Once I got the formal report, everything was in there. I could call anytime if I had a question.

Our inspector Ken was already on site at the scheduled time (the Saturday appointment time was very convenient!) and had the house opened up and ready to go. My husband walked with him during the inspection, he was VERY through checking everything and explaining anything he found. The next day, Sunday, we received the inspection report. The report was very well done and easy to follow including pictures and graphics. Every concern he had the previous day was noted on the report and he made it very clear what were the more critical issues. We were very pleased with the whole experience and are confident that our house inspection was done properly and exceeded our expectations. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing a house inspection! B
